If you aren't a member of Riverside Country Club, you should look into a membership as soon as possible. I have been playing here since I was a kid, and I have continued to play here once or twice a year for the last 10 years. The course has seen a lot of improvements over the years, and I can confidently say that right now it is in the best shape I have ever seen it. The staff at Riverside are incredibly friendly and helpful. They are willing to cater to whatever your needs are, and will always help out no matter what the request. The golf course is incredible. Neatly manicured, meticulously cared for, and always clean, I am in love with Riverside. This course offers a variety of challenges with plenty of trees, water hazards, and beautiful scenery. I'll try and take some photos next time I am there during good light so you can get an idea of how beautiful this place is. A few years ago, the entire facilities were torn down and redone. A brand new club house that is completely separate from the rest of the club. Great merchandise inside, a nice leather couch to sit and watch the golf channel, and a separate bathroom so you don't have to walk all the way over to the main building. The new main building has incredible new locker rooms, a well fitted fitness room, and a great restaurant upstairs that has pretty great food. There is too much to say about Riverside. If you are interested in learning more about memberships, visit riversidecountryclub.org or message me on Yelp. I'd be more than happy to help out or answer any questions you have.

Came here for lunch so this review is strictly about the food and the food alone. Okay, a little bit of the amenities, sure. The new boss is, of course, a member of the country club that's why we got the 'golden ticket' to try the place for lunch. I'll be honest, I was skeptical because first, it's a golf course so it's meant for golf and not *good* FOOD. Why 4 and not a 5? I am giving it a 4 because I have to take into serious consideration that this is not a restaurant. FOOD: Well to start-I didn't like my food, I ordered the thin-sliced beef Italian sandwich and the only thing I ate from it was the bread. The sauce was a blah, the meat was WTH, the cheese was uhm, and the tomato was not fresh, like are-you-kidding-me-not-fresh? In all fairness the chicken verde soup was ok but it could definitely use some salt or better broth for taste. They also served free rolls, came out fresh and warm and they were okay. SERVICE: The server was straight face, she seemed too busy to talk and decided to refill my drink before we left so it was a little too useless if you think about it. We got a brief tour of the place, the massage, gym, shoe shine booth, locker room area. Women's locker room was impressive. It looked like a hotel inside, I could see any woman enjoying that place. Will I go back to eat here again, if it's free yeah because who am I to complain for free food, but if I have to pay definitely-No thank you. I will get Mulitas, if ever I come back to eat for free and not the Italian beef sandwich. My colleague got it and let me taste it and it was good. Are you wondering why I got the Italian sandwich in the first place? Well I ask our server what she will recommend and I listened to her.

Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Good variety of food; made to order. Mexican entrees are always very food. Stable go-to for a sound meal.

Okay, The Block might be my new favorite restaurant in Provo. Every single course delivered…read more We started with honey butter and rolls (dangerous in the best way), then moved to the ricotta and focaccia; perfectly balanced and honestly could've stopped there and been happy. But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

I nearly bypassed this restaurant after reading a handful of one-star reviews suggesting slow…read moreservice and underwhelming, "microwaved" food. I'm pleased to report that my experience could not have been further from that narrative. I ordered the blackened salmon salad and it was exceptional. Perfectly executed, deeply flavorful, and balanced in a way that makes you pause between bites just to appreciate it. At one point I genuinely had to check myself because the sensory enjoyment was so elevated I could have sworn I was on MDMA. I was not. The dish was simply that transporting. The crème brûlée was of Michelin caliber. Silky custard, flawlessly torched sugar crust, ideal sweetness. It stands just behind my own homemade version, which is the highest compliment I can give. The bruschetta was equally refined, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Service was polished and attentive throughout. Our waitress, short dark hair, excellent presence, anticipated needs without hovering. The only mystery was her missing name tag. Ambience deserves its own praise. The acoustics were perfect, allowing conversation without strain, while a Frank Sinatra style playlist set an elegant, nostalgic tone. For a moment I thought I was listening to one of my own Spotify playlists. Impeccable curation. At one point I noticed lemon trees growing inside the building and briefly questioned whether they were real. They were decorative, but that moment captures how immersive the dining experience felt. No peyote involved, just remarkable execution. A thoroughly elevated meal. Five stars without hesitation.

The setting was elegant but relaxed, everyone loved their meals, and our server Sariah was phenomenal- so attentive and welcoming! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding lunch. Sariah and her team handled our party of 14 flawlessly. Between us all I think we must've sampled almost everything on the menu haha! We tried the braised lamb shank, salmon filet, French onion soup, lemon roasted chicken, chicken tortellini, manhattan steak, and even the Ruben sandwich. It was all fantastic and cooked to perfection. Service starts with drinks, buttery dinner rolls (delicious!), and an unexpected delectable amuse-bouche of dried fig and honey on top of a slice of Parmesan - it was lovely and a very elegant start to the meal. For drinks, Sariah recommended the lemonades as they are the house specialty and made fresh - so hubby and I tried a raspberry lemonade and a blackberry lemonade. They were refreshing, delicious, and not too sweet. Not too long after, all the food came out. The meal finishes with a complimentary plate of hard lemon candies which was a nice touch. The decor in the main dining room is lemon tree themed and I absolutely loved it! It's cozy and fun - like dining in a lemon orchard. But unfortunately they sat us in a back room that felt a lot more flat - almost like a conference room. It would've really made our whole experience that much better if it had also been decorated in their lemon tree theme - and that really is my only complaint. But the room was elegant enough and very private for our little family party. So it isn't really much of a complaint and certainly not enough of an issue to detract from the overall experience - just something to be aware of. We had a lot of "preferences" we had to consider in finding a restaurant for my son's big day, so after an extensive search, we settled on La Jolla Groves for its elegant atmosphere and accommodating menu and we were more than satisfied. I easily made reservations online but also spoke to them on the phone to confirm and ask some questions. They do require a credit card to secure the reservation for a large party (we had 14 guests) but there's no charge for making the reservation - only if you cancel on very short notice. They're located in a large shopping area with plenty of parking. They're kind of behind the stores but there are maps on site to help you find the entrance. Thanks again to Sariah and La Jolla Groves for taking such great care of us on our special day!

The server was attentive to my needs, took enough time to have conversation, but also left me to enjoy my meal. Being a restaraunt in a hotel the decor was pretty plain. Open with tables closer together than most would prefer. I really wanted the buffet to get started. Most companies are not as generous as mine giving me a $25 allowance for breakfast, but even at that a $22 buffet does not leave room to leave the server a reasonable tip. They should take this into consideration when pricing. There are many other breakfast buffets that are priced much more favorably and usually have a bigger selection. I opted for the western omlette. It was served with potatos which were fine. The omlette taste fine but was really scrambled eggs with ham and veggies mixed in, cooked, then folded in half and topped with cheese. An omlette with the veggies and cheese stuffed inside a thin egg base is always so much better. Hotel food is usually about convenience, so I got what I expected, decent service, acceptable food and a price point higher than average.

Which is why he asked to celebrate his birthday here. We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our original server was kind but we ended up with a different server after about a third of our time there. She was also kind. Our disappointment began as we stopped by the salad bar. It was not kept up, some dishes were either empty or near it, other options were stale and clearly have been sitting there for a while. The restaurant itself looked clean enough. We have been to this location now four times and this was the first time we regretted going once the meat came around. We remembered them having the best meats with so much flavor and seasoning. Now, the pork and chicken options were just okay. The beef options, which are usually our favorites, ended up being our least. They were either served over cooked/dry or way under cooked. Which is odd because they even asked us how we like ours cooked to which we asked for medium rare. Never got that. When we left and my husband and I talked about our experience, he said it made sense because everyone working were extremely young, some had headphones in and that the cooks were messing around. We spent $130 and definitely did not get our money's worth. We usually give places second chances but this was unfortunately so bad I truly don't see us going back. This place needs to hire employees with better work ethic. Especially when dealing with food.

I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

The restaurant was fairly busy, and despite not having reservations, we were seated immediately. I started with the Yanabah iced tea ($5), a Navajo herbal tea. It was light, refreshing, and not overly herbal. We shared a wedge salad to start, which came with a chipotle mayo dressing that was excellent. It had more heat than the chipotle flavors I am typically used to, and I really enjoyed the extra kick. For my entrée, I ordered the Navajo taco with BBQ pork ($15)? which was outstanding. The taco is served on freshly made fry bread that was fluffy, slightly sweet, and had subtle honey notes. It was piled with a generous portion of perfectly cooked pulled pork coated in a sweet glaze, along with some fresh vegetables and herbs that added both crunch and more flavor, with chipotle sauce on the side. The fry bread was fresh and flavorful, the pork was tender, and the combination of herbs, vegetables, and sauce created a great balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. Black Sheep Café offers a unique menu inspired by Native American and Southwestern flavors, and I wish I had more time to come back and try more of the menu. If you're in Provo, I highly recommend.
