Back home visiting family and friends in Charlotte NC. Of course an annual visit to a fish camp. Several fish camps have either closed or cut hours, but Riverside still very popular and great seafood. No reservations taken but we were seated quickly to our table for 10, but only 9 could make it. Our server Allysha brought menus and took drink orders. We picked two servings of Onion Rings and one serving of Fried Squash for the table to share. Onion rings were ok but the Squash was terrific! Crispy outside and soft inside. My wife picked the Senior plate of Green Shrimp with a loaded baked potato. I went for the Butterflied Shrimp and Oysters, with an extra coleslaw for side. Pretty busy there about 4:15 on Friday. Our food took a bit of time but gave us a chance to visit and talk with the family and friends. Both our meals were excellent. My oysters thinly breaded and flash fried to be crispy outside and juicy inside. I wound up taking a few shrimp, coleslaw and about 20 hushpuppies back to hotel for next day. Excellent food, great service, a bit noisy but not so much so to prevent conversations. This will undoubtably be our annual go to for our visit.

Great lunch. Found this place on Gaston Eats. I had the riverside plat and honestly we could have split it. Great service from Alyssa taking care of a party and never missed a beat. Drinks stayed full and she made us feel welcome. and we left with leftovers. We will be back.

We've been told that this is THE place to get fried catfish in this area. When we visited on Friday night, we were very underwhelmed. I love the fact that this place is tucked out of the way, and off of the beaten path. Regardless, there are tons of cars in the parking lot, but the place is relatively large inside and they get you in quickly. The hostess was kind and efficient. We waited maybe 10 minutes on a Friday night at 7 pm. Our waitress was very kind and efficient as well. She brought our drinks and some hushpuppies to nosh on while we looked at the menu. She was able to help us out with our selections and made sure our drinks were filled. My only issue with this place is the food itself. And some people are going to love it, no doubt. But the things I ordered felt like they were from frozen fish and shrimp. The batter did not adhere to the shrimp and had that "ice coating" feel. I know, we can't get fresh shrimp in Dallas, NC, but a better preparation would remove that texture problem. The worst thing I had was the stuffed flounder. It looked like a huge fried softball. Ate one bite and left the rest. The food all tasted the same. Fried with little differentiation. The onion rings were delicious and I thought the slaw was good, too. The best thing about this place is the price, though. For 3 grown people, it cost $50. Unheard of for seafood. So, this is the reason for the third star, the incredible value of this place. If you aren't picky about the quality of your seafood or are just craving some fried food, give this place a try. Others rave about it! I'm willing to pay a bit more to get quality food, so this place wasn't a win for me.

Best Chicken Livers I've ever had so delicious. This place is a legit fish camp where clearly everyone goes it was busy but service was excellent and fast. Large dining area good for meeting your family. Everyone was very friendly. I can't wait to go back. Fried pickles were the bomb extra crispy. Food was not greasy at all. The tarter sauce is perfect with the green shrimp and hush puppies. Portion sizes and prices are very reasonable.

Been coming for years, best fish camp around love the atmosphere, and our favorite waitress Christina.

My first time visiting this restaurant was on 05/21/2023. I ordered take out and had my boyfriend pick it up so I was unable to give me own critique of the inside but from what he told me the place looked to be a family owned restaurant. We ordered 2 fish platters and fried pickles as an appetizer. Everything was greasy which was to be expected since we got fried food. The amount of food was great for the price.

Large portions of food. The fried shrimp may very well be the best I have ever tasted. The food comes out so quickly you don't have to wait long. It is loud inside, but the food is so good you won't even notice. The staff are running around and get everything for you promptly. My drink was never empty.

Pick two platter. Jumbo shrimp and the catfish filets.

Greeted as I entered by Jade instantly made me feel welcome. The rest is history in the making because I will consider this home from home....it was an actual home and the history is fascinating. Jade was kind enough to give me a brief tour of the old homestead built wayyyy back and introduced me to several regulars along the way. I made other new friends playing at the pool tables next to the outside dining/party area. It's getting a little chilly now to hang outside but I've been told it's a great place come summer time. Of this I have no doubt. I look forward to visiting again as seeing all those friendly faces for the holidays.

I absolutely enjoyed our Sunday Brunch here!!!!…read more First let me say it's an old movie they turned into a restaurant. Just love it. If you get asked if you want to sit downstairs or upstairs I would totally say upstairs. The ambiance and views up there is so nice. Certain seats you can see right down into the kitchen and other seats give a great view to a movie screen which movies are playing. Love it! The service was great. Very attentive and super friendly. Started the meal with some drinks of course, so cute the drinks named after famous movies. Got the cheesy bread, this is a must please don't go and NOT order this. I could have just ate a plate of these and been satisfied. The bread was so good and packed with oozed out cheese! I went with two what they call first plates for my meal..the meatballs with polenta and fried green tomatoes! The meatballs were good, I enjoyed the polenta, was creamy and had good flavor. The fried green tomatoes, BOMB. They were seasoned and fried perfectly. Then came with charred corn which was soooo good and topped with smoked pork belly! Soon and the plate sat in front of me you could smell the smoke, killer dish! Rest of the table had, a burger, the big short, a omelette stuffed with short ribs and topped with kimchi, and charbroiled chicken with brown rice, pesto and blistered tomatoes. Everything was very good. On top of the fried green tomatoe dish, I also loved the short rib omelette. The short ribs were so good! Sweet, smokey with Asian seasoning. Stuffed in an egg, yea can't go wrong! The restaurant is in Gastonia a little drive from Charlotte, but I would make that drive again and again, spot is that good.

The restaurant was very clean, and the ambiance was very interesting. Our waitress was very informative and professional with her service to our family. I feel the food prices, to include the appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts are very overpriced. Our family of 5 left there with a $410.00 tab and we did not have any alcoholic drinks. We had never been to the Webb Kitchen, and speaking for myself, I probably will not return. I had ordered what looked like mouthwatering baby back ribs. I wanted to try both entrees, so I ordered a full rack of ribs with dry rub and BBQ sauce. Much to my surprise, the ribs that were served tonight were extremely small, overcooked, and had very little meat on them. Additionally, the little amount of meat that was on the ribs was very tough. Not too happy about my experience tonight! Bryan M.

Of the ten patrons inside when we arrived, they all seemed to know each other. Thankfully, this didn't sway us one way or the other. We sat near the door, and I asked the bartender to turn on the game, which she did. Turns out the game wasn't on that channel, but I didn't want to disturb her conversation with the locals. Our waitress mentioned she was fairly new. She was attentive but kept forgetting things. I ordered the "must-have" Bessemer City Buzzard on a Stick, which is about half of a chicken breast seasoned and baked on a stick. The chicken wasn't as dry as I expected, but it also lacked flavor, and I had to pay $1 for sweet chili sauce to dip it in (3/5). The corn nuggets were nice and hot, and I enjoyed them (5/5). Note: I saw a couple of references to "redneck" while visiting, and I would characterize this place as a local redneck hangout.

It is typically loud in this establishment and when you call in an order during the afternoon or evening, you have to speak loud over the phone so they can hear you. I have ordered from them several times, but the wings are pretty pricey, so I don't go that much. However, they do offer wing discounts two days out the week. . Lastly, I really like their salads too!
