They are a really fun cool place to hang out! Went on October 2nd when the inside re open due to Sars-Cov-2-Corona-Plegue-19. I suggest they also play music but that would be difficult over the noise of the arcade games but it might be possible. They now serve Hot Dogs, Craft Beer and Liquor. It is a place to get out of the house and take a break from studying or work even alone because you can play games. For $5 you get a cop of tokens and you can pay with credit. For $10 you also get more, and $15 even more tokens! Plus, they are allot of Virtual Reality Games and they are awesome fun. read more

This place is fantastic and a great representation of what an arcade should feel like! The Riverside Game Lab is a retro/modern arcade attached to a dining area called the Riverside Food Lab with plenty of options and variety to eat from small business owners, similar to a farmers market. The Arcade facility has since moved over to a swipe card system, I did hear old tokens will be exchanged but unsure on the new policies. Most of the games range anywhere between 25 cents- $1.50, most being around $1, and some of the pinball machines upwards of $1.10. There are plenty of old and new games, pinball machines, and some new games near the front, but the facility is fairly large which was amazing and something I didn't expect when walking in for the first time. This is one of the best Retro Modern arcades in the IE, similar to "Retrovolt" Arcade near Yucaipa. Highly recommend this place even if you aren't into arcades, there is something to play for anyone. read more

Really enjoyed my first time here at the Game Lab. Positives: FGC fans in the IE rejoice, you have a home here. There are regular tournaments for games ranging from Tekken, Marvel and Smash Bros to even Melty Blood and Guilty Gear. There are some cabinets for Soul Calibur II, Marvel 2, Tekken 5, Third Strike and SF2. If you're looking for your typical arcade fare it's all here; skeeball, DDR, hoops, racing games, Time Crisis... even a few VR booths-- two shooting games, one Beat Saber and another a Star Wars VR game. There are also plenty of pinball machines and as many as three different Guitar Hero stations with two guitars each. I didn't try the alcoholic drinks but, it's a nice touch having places to set your drink down while playing. Negatives: I definitely selected $25 when getting a card, but I was charged for (and granted) $50 worth of game credits. In the end we ended up using them all, but I'm sure other people wouldn't be too happy about this little glitch if it were to happen to them. My friend from Mexico was not served at the bar because his US-issued work visa was not considered valid proof of age, and that was a bit of a damper on his time here. read more

Amazing experience! Been here a few times, and it's been an absolute blast. I love getting to play the games I used to play with my brother as a kid when we finished baseball practice. The VR stations are a lot of fun too. It's a nice blend of modern and retro games and there's plenty of options for you to choose from. Plus, you can buy tokens from a stand for a decent exchange rate instead of putting money into a token machine. The staff are friendly and there's a snack bar in the back. More interestingly, they play classic anime on the big projectors they have on both sides of the arcade. Definitely a recommend for retro game junkies. read more

Annoyed They take your drinks(that are half full) that are sitting next to you while your playing games or watching a tournament and then when you ask the bar why they took your drink and if they can replace it (cause they are not cheap) they won't. Why have the areas or coasters for us to put drinks while we game if you're going to take them. I get that kids are running around but that should be on the parents to watch them this is a gaming bar. read more

I enjoyed this place waaaaaaaay better before the game card! Please bring the coins back! There were so many machines that won't take the credit and then suddenly a error or retry message. I love playing the Jurassic Park cause I enjoy doing missions and it's nearly impossible to add more credit when you need to continue. read more

I was not going to write anything about this place, I get that they are new but some things should be brought to light for the community. I went to this place and had a meh time. I decided to read the reviews to see if I had read them in advance I could have been warned. And to me, the reviews seem really fake. Some people write about issues but give five stars, which makes me wonder if that is because they get 4 tokens for checking in? Finally a barcade in Riverside! And while I'm beyond ecstatic that they sell my favorite drink Boochcraft, don't worry- it's very family friendly before 10pm! I take my 6 year old niece here and she can grab a step stool and play whatever she wants (she loves Tekken and Crazy Taxi). At the same time, it's a fun place to play VR, classic games, and have a drink with my friends. It's refreshing to use tokens again and the games are really cheap. $5 here goes a long way. I asked them if they were getting Dance Dance Revolution, my favorite arcade game, and they delivered! The Game Lab is in a great location, too. Walking in, I don't really know what I expected, but I loved the concept. Game Lab is basically a walk through the decades for games, they restored a lot of their classic games, and the color resolution is fantastic. Their private room rentals are cool and they are big (each fit about 20-25). You can host events, business meetings, parties... or what I personally plan on doing: connecting my switch to the TVs with my friends and murdering them in Super Smash Bros! MUAHAHA!!! They have over 25 beer options, craft beer, no commercial beer which, I actually LOVE!!! Their draft beer selection is pretty good, loving their rotating tap they chose: Wick's Nordic Madman Hazy DIPA . Well balanced and bomb!!! They just opened... so if you're reading and this and are planning to visit... check in, get your free tokens, GIVE THEM A FIVE STAR REVIEW and help them thrive. Tell your friends, tell your family, go have fun! Support them as a local businesses, this is NOT a corporate business and no, it's not perfect, but damn is it fun and heading in the right direction. I usually love the game labs. The last time I was there with 2 friends, we ordered jameson shots. As soon as we took the shot, I mentioned to my friends that it didn't taste like jameson, the shot had a sweet taste to it. If you've ever had jameson, you know it isn't sweet. The shot tasted like it was captain Morgan. Myself and another person with me are both bartenders and we both thought the jameson did not taste right, as it is a liquor we constantly drink. read more

An arcade literally 1 mile away from home? Just take my money, TAKE IT ALL! This is a super cool space with great games from vintage games to new games. They also have a whole section for VR, private party rooms, and a bar. Customer service is amazing! My son and I cane in to okay street fighter but we couldn't find it. Come to find out it's in a multi game machine and the employee definitely went above and beyond to help us get to the game we were eager to play. This place is super cool. We visited on a Saturday, and arrived right when it opened (3 pm). They had some of our old favorites, like Galaga, Pacman, and Donkey Kong to name a few. A wide variety of pinball machines, as well as current more modern games. Many arcade games 25 cents. All the games we played, worked. No lost quarters. They had some VR areas, where you can sit with your group a do VR simulation. We didn't experience it, but saw people enjoying it. They had a wide assortment of fun games and machines. It is definitely a place to explore. They do have a bar and as the day went by, the bar got a little crowded, so it might be helpful to have a few people working the bar. Definitely a place for us older folks and also a fun place for our tweens to enjoy. We were able to show our kids how arcade games were played, back in our day. We also came across a food court right next door. It looked like a cool place for some hip food choices. We didn't eat there, but will definitely come back and try. As a fan of arcade games and video games, I have incredibly excited for this place to open. I finally got to go, so here's my review I promised to the bartender. Alcohol: There isn't a full bar, but they have one of the big craft beer selections I've seen in Riverside from a large array of breweries. They have two bars, the front is where you can purchase tokens, bottle/ canned beer/ canned soda/ collectible energy drinks; the back bar is where you get refillable soda and draft beer. They also have hard seltzer, hard cider, and hard kombucha. Tokens and mascot: The tokens had a lot of thought put into the design. One side has their mascot the other has the Riverside bell in the shape of a game control, really cool! their mascot has a long name: Professor Howard Ichiban something. Kind of gives me Super Mario and Sonic character vibes in terms of design. Virtual Reality: They have over 8 games. It's a good price during happy hour, so I will come back for sure. Beat Saber is a workout though, be warned!!! I want to try the airplane one in the future. Arcade games: I can't get over how clear the graphics on the older games are were. I haven't seen anything like it other places. Would like to see more games from this century too, but the guitar hero was a blast! Pinball: If you like pinball, this is a good place to train for pinball leagues or have fun. I liked the GoT one most. Food: no real food, slight bummer, but it's right next to the food lab, so not a big deal. If you want dine in, there are plenty of local options like Salted Pig, Mario's, and Woodfire Cafe that are walking distance. Service: Everyone that was working there looked like they were college students. Incredibly friendly and attentive. Amy was the bartender that helped me choose fantastic beer, she pointed me to the Golden Monkey (canned) and their Hazy DIPA from Wick (draft). Will be coming back when they have their Xococeza Mexican Hot Chocolate stout she was talking about! Forgot the VR tech's name, but nice lad with glasses and he did a fantastic job helping me through the trial. A lot of the employees checked on me throughout and the buzzer seemed hard at work, she was continuously cleaning things. Overall, awesome place to host an event or have fun with friends. So glad they are open! Suggestion: Could use more vibrant lighting, especially by the back bar. Also, think about adding skee ball! read more
