I love how there's an arcade in Riverside. The Game Lab is great, spacious, clean, and has a large assortment of games. I've taken my nephew to the Retrovault Arcade in Calimesa and Neon Retro Arcade in Pasadena multiple times and the Game Lab is comparable with variety. They use tokens for the machines so you have to keep track of your cup. I like the $10/hr free play and no tokens better. Midday, there were several families here but not busy at all. If you're looking for some good family fun or even want somewhere fun to go on date night than you definitely need to come check this place out. My family and I already have been there a few times since they opened and will definitely be going back. As a kid I grew up playing in the arcades and when I walked into the game lab I noticed all the classics games I played as a kid are all here. My mind was blown and I loved that I was able to show my kids all the cool classics games. I love how they mixed all the retro and new age games like VR. I had the chance to finally play the VR and I was amassed on how realistic and fun they can be. This is something I'll definitely be going back for. They have a good variety of pin balls which my son and I like to spend most of our tokens at. You could never go wrong with pin ball. A few other favorites of mine will have to be the basketball throw, pac man and the claw game to win a prize(my son won 5 pac mans lol) They have a good variety of alcohol drinks and all craft beer which I love so it made it that much better. They have soda, water and Themed energy drinks which I thought was pretty cool. Good variety of snacks but the best part is knowing that the food lab is right next door. They have tables inside so getting your food next door and going back into the game lab to eat makes it niceeee. I was able to peak into the private game/party rooms. Looked pretty cool inside and a lot of room to host a small party. They have a big project screen above the bar and a good sounding audio system. Decided to check out the Game Lab on a Monday night. We tried the 1hr VR station ($45/hr). Having played VR before, we knew what to expect with regards to basic controller movements. They use the HTC headset here. Really great atmosphere and helpful employees. Will definitely return to play VR again. They also have a bar in the back, and a wide variety of pinball and arcade games (they use tokens which you can purchase there.) Hopefully they decide to add the extra songs packs for Beat Saber. Update 12/16/19 Still no updated song packs for Beat Saber. Hopefully they add them soon. Also check out their social media for gaming tournaments. Played in their Beat Saber and had a lot of fun. Will be fun to play 90degree mode for Beat Saber when the update comes for the arcade version. The VR employees are super cool and helpful. Great selection of arcade games and pinball but some of them out of order whether it be the card reader or just the machine is having technical difficulties. The drinks were ok but not the best, bathrooms were clean for the most part. Pricing is varied with some games being a bang for your buck will others leave you scratching your head on why they cost so much (looking at you foosball table, Dance Dance Revolution, and connect 4 basketball). They used to have coins which I liked but they moved on to a card system similar to Dave and Busters and Chuck E. Cheese but that's understandable because of the cost of the tokens themselves and such. Security is a bonus since some arcade's don't have one and the staff is usually nice albeit the one I last encountered back in October 2021 when I went at night had a bit of an attitude. Overall, it's more geared towards the barcade crowd but kids can have fun as long as your bring them early because after 10, it's adults only! read more

I recently had a private event where we rented out the game lab as a venue for 200 guests. Even though it was one of their first buyouts, everything went perfectly. It was so fun and Alex Teran (owner/the BEST HOST EVER/genius for creating this place) was so fun and accomadated to all of my needs leading up to the event! I was able to be as creative as possible and he made every aspect come to life. All of the games were super fun (my fav is the VR Tower Tag) and the hard seltzers were delicious!! Amazing experience! Been here a few times, and it's been an absolute blast. I love getting to play the games I used to play with my brother as a kid when we finished baseball practice. The VR stations are a lot of fun too. It's a nice blend of modern and retro games and there's plenty of options for you to choose from. Plus, you can buy tokens from a stand for a decent exchange rate instead of putting money into a token machine. The staff are friendly and there's a snack bar in the back. More interestingly, they play classic anime on the big projectors they have on both sides of the arcade. Definitely a recommend for retro game junkies. read more

My husband and I came here tonight with friends and we had a blast! They have a decent beer list, a great selection of games -old school and new-and super helpful and friendly staff. Expect Ms. Pac-Man, Time Crisis, Mortal Combat, The Simpson's Game, and soooo many more - plus all the pinball your heart could desire. To list all the games would take me all night. $1 = 4 tokens, and most games cost 2 tokens each (except for VR which is priced separately). They have token machines that take dollar bills or you can pay upfront with a card. Despite the place being fairly busy on a Friday night, we could always wander and find a game that was available for play. If you're hungry, it shares a plaza with Riverside Food Lab. From classic pinball to VR. The pinball variety is amazing and curated. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and excellent- I felt like I was at Disneyland. Honestly, such a bummer this place allows kids. Was expecting this to be like a real bar with only adults. So if you are looking to have a night with friends just know there may be a kid hovering around you to play a game. Also not nearly enough tables for people to put drinks down. The staff expects customers to drag over small tables to your games when you're playing. So if you buy a beer and aren't aware of the rules just know you may get scolded. I had high hopes for this place. Slight let down. Hope they can turn it around. Will come back in a few months once it has a chance to settle in. Hopefully I can review again with a more positive outcome. *Update* Okay, I made it back sooner then I had anticipated but again I had high hopes. However, it's the recent experience which lost them a star. Still a lot of kids in a bar which kinda sucks but they were not the issues tonight. It seems really obvious to me that a place which does not allow you to put drinks on the games, should provide ample alternatives. Nope. Customers are still expected to drag short cupholder/tables around with them that only fit 4 drinks. It would be nice if management provided tables near the game that were also big enough to put a purse or jacket on. It was sad that my only option for some games was to put my nice things on the ground. I also want to point out the VR station. This is by far my favorite reason to go to this place, however when I asked for a recommendation the attendant gave me a game he did not know how to use the controls so he had to set me up on a different one before I could even start. If you can play a game with easy controls it's a blast! But apparently they recommend games they have not seen yet so they can learn how to play them too. But since I'm on the clock I'd prefer a game I can play with ease. Finally, in anticipation for the night we brought quarters so that we could get rid of some change around the house. We were told by the bar staff it was not an issue and to exchange the coins for tokens in the front. But the front desk attendant scolded us and said we weren't supposed to do that. Idk what to say man, if it's not written clearly on a sign how am I supposed to know?! I don't blame the guy, he's young and doing his job. But I really think the management needs to step up their game for this entire establishment. I honestly do not want to go back anytime soon. We had taken a friend with us and I left slightly embarrassed. I'll keep an eye out for more reviews to see if anything changes but I've decided to stop telling friends about this place.
