Had dinner here with a motorcycle buddy on a Sunday. Great atmosphere and location for sure. Food was good. Grouper was fresh and tasty. Cooked perfect! Cajun rice was kinda bland. Was expecting some kick for a Cajun side. Mojito was also very good. They had a DJ playing good music (but kinda loud for a dinner hour setting) that made it difficult to talk at your table. DJ was very entertaining and was enjoying himself. It would have been better if the volume was down a couple notches so we could still talk and hear the music at the same time. If it weren't for the music volume and only having one dessert choice (key lime pie), I would have given it 5 stars. Overall a good option for waterfront dining! read more

We went today for Valentine with a friend. The food was very good except the fries apparently they mix fresh fíes with old ones very disappointed. I do not know why they did that. You can Taste the fresh soft and crunchy versus the old hard ones. Sad that something as simple as the fries caused us no to give you top notch reviews. We pick this restaurant because the reviews. Great atmosphere, service and food. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. I got the blackened grouper sandwich with crispy fries which was great and my husband got the double smash burger which he loved. Our server Red was very attentive and friendly. The scenery is nice but the river, especially at sunset. Unfortunately the restaurant was very dirty with napkins on the floor, French fries and chicken tenders also. Only after 90 minutes, did a server sweep the floor. Food was ok, wings had way too much oil on them, dripping from the basket on to our table. read more

We were in the area & looked up a place to eat. Riverside Johnny's came up & I fell in love because it was on the water. Upon arrival, they did not have sweet tea... immediately I was bummed. Wonderful first time visit. Our waitress, Lexi, was new but was wonderful and you'd think she'd been doing this a long time. Our food was very tasty. I'd recommend the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. We all absolutely loved it. I had the grilled shrimp with broccoli and Cajun rice. It was good but Cajun rice wasn't as "poppin" as I'd thought it would be. My niece got the Nashville Hot chicken and thought it was great! I went here when I was in town for a convention. A short drive from our hotel which was nice, waitstaff was wonderful and polite. There is a decent drink selection and the cocktails were good, they weren't too sugary. The best part about this place is the view, we went around sunset and it was absolutely gorgeous! read more

Isabella was our waitress and she was very good. We sat outside by the water, they could use more fans to move the air around. The food was good, had to wait for my onions straws so I was half way through my meal before receiving them. The blackened grouper and fries were good but not crazy about the slaw. The buttered shrimp was delicious as well as the onion straws and cajan rice(some of the butter from the shrimp made the rice even better). Loved watching the pelicans dive for dinner while we waited for our dinner, it didn't take too long to receive the meal. read more

Riverside Johnny's recently opened in Daytona. It has a welcoming...relaxed atmosphere and a good menu for casual dining. Our waitress was very attentive and the kitchen delivered. On the first round of drinks we ordered the KFC wings. It is one pound of crispy Korean style wings tossed in a sesame honey glaze. The wings were just the tiniest bit spicy, deliciously crunchy and had just enough sticky sauce on each on one of them. After the wings we tried the Main Street Corn. It was the best that I have tasted in a very long time. The corn was cooked to perfection and had the perfect balance of creamy cheese, chili powder, lime and cilantro. Afterwards..I moved on to a house salad. The salad was very fresh and loaded with mixed greens, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes and croutons. I loved it!'!!....and would definitely order it again. The only thing that I didn't care for was house made blue cheese dressing ....it had a strong taste of Mayo that overtook the flavor of blue cheese. It could just be this batch so I will give it another try on my next t visit. read more

Stopped by for lunch on Saturday and had some boneless wings off their game day menu. Wings were great and super flavorful. Probably some of the best boneless wings I've had. It was definitely busy, but the service was surprisingly quick and the staff was very attentive despite it being so busy. Great views from the outside patio! read more

This is a really cool place on the intracoastal. Absolutely love the space, it's bright, open and clean. The food was exactly what we were in the mood for. The Daytona Double Double is just yummm! And the cheddar bacon fries, omg! Also had the garden salad, which was fresh and delicious. Service was good. Definitely recommend it, and looking forward to bringing more friends to introduce them to it. read more

We were at the beach and ready for dinner! So we stopped at this restaurant for dinner. If you followed the gps it might stopped you at the intersection so make sure go towards the water lol! I was lost for a brief minute! Lol Anyway, we got there and the greeter was on the phone. Then finally she sat us at the table inside! I actually want to sit outside but my family want to be in the air conditioning area! The server greeted us and we ordered our drinks! Checking out the menu, the price is not bad and pretty good varieties. We ordered fried calamari and it was so good! Well seasoned and crispy and not overcooked! And it came with some house sauce that is very good! And Alice pickled cucumber! Then we got our dinner! My son got shrimp tacos, I felt like the shrimps are small than expected! They were alright! But I have the abc chicken sandwich, it was good but the chicken can use a little more seasoning! My husband has the Daytona double double that was tasty. And my other son has the hangover burger, that was delicious also! Overall, the food is good and staff are friendly. The location is amazing! Great place for seafood and watching sports games. I did take out and had grouper handheld. I definitely recommend it. They don't have parking for pickup. They were busy and I had to park across the street at the overflow parking lot and walk across. This place is regular bar food but more upscale and better seafood options. I am a tourist visiting from the Midwest, and my girlfriend and I had potentially the best burgers we have ever had at Johnny's. I got the Blue cheese, and she got the hangover. We unanimously agree that there aren't many better burgers on earth, if any. I have no reason to hype them up, I'm from the other side of the country. My burger was Absolutely smothered in pungent and delicious blue cheese. Her burger had an egg and some other ingredients and was also cooked perfectly. The patty meat was very, very high quality. And for $15, can't beat that. We fly out tomorrow evening and we are making sure to eat at Johnny's before we go back. read more

A group of us went there today for lunch and all of us really thoroughly. Enjoyed it. It's huge and has a great location right on the river. It was crazy windy out, but it was so cool that they had these doors that power-close to limit the amount of wind. Our server, Jennifer was super attentive and very friendly. I had the Johnny Blue burger. Billed as coming with double beef smash patties it only came with maybe one and half. The patty was well done, dry, I mean dry, and in my opinion, NOT a smash patty from a griddle flat top. It had the characteristic char from a grill top but not in a good way, dry, hard, almost dehydrated. It did have not the unmistakeable caramelized Maillard crust you get when seared on a flattop and scraped off with a spatula. Smash burgers should be juicy, even greasy, even when smashed thin and cooked through. Smash burgers may be cooked well but they should not be dry inside or out. This was no where near what I am familiar with. Overall it was a terrible burger. The parmesan garlic wings were okay. The skin and exterior were crisp, the wing was tasty but overall was on the dry side. This is a challenge though when serving a dry seasoned wing. Tossed in buffalo sauce I am sure the wings would have been phenomenal. So, I kind of got what I ordered with a dry seasoned wing. I will stick to buffalo sauced wings. read more

I'm giving it a three because of two issues, but would really give 3.5. One, there weren't great options inside, I read how beautiful the view was there and asked if there were heaters outside. I was told there were and we could get one. We asked repeatedly for a heater and were told they were all in use. A group at a table left, and we never got the heater. They said they had to leave it because someone sat there. We were here first, but I guess that didn't matter. We would have stayed longer, but we're freezing. The fries were over cooked. Having worked in the food industry for a bit, they looked like they were dropped more than once or forgotten about. Our waitress was very sweet, and always smiled as she told us there were no heaters. I don't like to put pressure on the wait staff, as I've done it and know it's not easy. The hostess shouldn't be telling people they can get a heater when they can't. I don't know if I would come here again, I would have to think about that. Maybe we're at fault because we should have sat inside, but we're freezing should have been told no heater was guaranteed. read more
