The Chicken Wings, not so much. I ordered them naked and unbreaded, hoping they were fresh, not frozen, prebreaded wings, which are too salty for me and leave a lot to be desired flavor wise, and they're tiny. As a family, we loved Riverside. Particularly for their broccoli chicken Alfredo. We've bought that many times for family events or lazy Sunday dinners when we didn't feel like cooking but wanted a "home cooked meal". We bought half-pans or full pans (And NO MATTER the size, it came with garlic bread, which was actually stale sub rolls they cut up and begrugingly covered in a delicious garlic butter sauce. But it was decent when fresh. But then they went drastically up on their prices. We still ordered from them a few times. The quality got worse and worse. this LAST time was horrific. The price was sky high (as we've come accustomed to) and then the quantity of both the broccoli and the chicken were less than usual, on top of the fact that half of the chicken was inedible. It's usually tender and well-seasoned. Most of the noodles were bare, so they skimped on the sauce too. And guess what? They didn't even give us the subpar garlic bread. And when we called about it, they said they weren't offwrong complimentary garlic bread anymore. huh?????? I don't know if that's true or if they just didn't want us to come back but we ordered a few weeks ago and definitely had it. If their rent went up, then just move. But your ONE job is delivering quality food. You're going to close sooner than later if you cut quality. And I JUST found out how good their steak and cheese subs are in the last year. Even with that said, their meat alone, as well as the meat-to-cheese ratio is perfection, but their bread is ALWAYS stale. I let that go because the filling is so good. I gave them that grace . EVERY TIME I got a sub, the bread was crumbly and borderline dry. So please find new vendors/chefs.... whatever you have to do. Had a peperoni pizza was dried and over cooked italian sub cold cut were cut too thick

If you have tastebuds don't order from here. They didn't cook the onion or entire garlic cloves they put on the pizza (wth!). Mozz sticks straight from costco could have tasted better. Never got the extra sauce we asked for. Wish it was better since it's not far, but after trying it, I can't believe it is even still open. Finally, this leads me to question do all people in Dedham not have any tastebuds because the food here sucks and also who is actually ordering food consistently from this place. Tonight, I tried them again because they are in the neighborhood. Again, I asked for it well done, and it was barely cooked. I tried to call them at 8:20pm and they close at 9:00pm. No answer, and I tried 6 times. I'm done with this place. Deno's in West Roxbury listens to your requests and actually fulfills them. The quality has gone way down. I ordered meals for my family and took delivery. The quality was poor, and my sub was inedible. I ordered a steak, cheese, and onion sub that came ice-cold, no cheese, and the onions were RAW. I filled out an online form for feedback with my contact information and I was never contacted. I gave it one more try. They "forgot" part of our order, but they didn't forget to charge for the forgotten food. The food that was there was slop. It's too much trouble to go back and get orders corrected, but their bad food and bad service is certainly bad enough to try to keep others from the same experience. I should get what I *pay* for, whether it's a HOT, COOKED sub or complete order. And if you offer a feedback form because you want to make things right, here's a tip--MAKE THINGS RIGHT. read more

OK... So Riverside used to be my go to for food and everything, but it's under new management and this is my experience thus far... I used to always get the italian, but now it tastes off and not as good. I got a buffalo chicken sub the other day and it tasted old...speaking of old, I ate a bag of chips while waiting for my sub, and they expired 8.6.2010. This was yesterday, 8/14/10. Why did I get the chips? Because on a Saturday, at 3 PM, they didn't have slices, and weren't even making a pizza for slices. Horrible. Bring back the old owners!!!! PLEASE! PS. Hidden gem on the West Roxbury/Dedham line. Everything is always fresh and it's run by a nice family. I like the fresh fish and chicken broccoli ziti - pizza is great too. The deliveries are fast and accurate but it's a cool place to eat in too. The girl who answers the phone most of the time has quite a personality! There's a nice park across the street on the river, plenty of free parking and damn good food. If you don't know about this place then you should soon. read more

Riverside is right on my way home from work, so I pick up food here all the time. And, frankly, it's hard not to. I can't think of any meal I've ever had there which I did not like, and their prices are extraordinary. Pizza: If you like Greek-style pizza, you'll really enjoy Riverside's pizza. The crust is thin and crunchy, the sauce is delicious (I am guessing that they make it on-premises, it's THAT good), and the cheese is ooey and gooey and quite greasy. If you want something sinfully awesome, get a pizza with extra cheese and Feta. You'll never stop coming back! Subs: Usually, a place will either do a small number of subs and do them very well, or do a large number of subs and do them poorly. Well, Riverside does a large number of subs and does them amazingly well! I strongly recommend the Turkey Cobbler (basically a complete turkey dinner in a sub roll) and the fresh haddock sub (they're "just a sub shop" but they get fresh haddock every day). Salads: Their Greek salad is not only delicious, but... HUGE. There's no other word for it. For the price, it's almost too big. Keep this in mind when ordering. You'll almost certainly be able to share it! Sides: Boneless Buffalo wings are done in a way I've never really encountered anywhere else. It's hard to explain... they're pounded thin, almost like cutlets, and are so good that you'll inhale an entire order in seconds. The Jalapeno poppers are stuffed with cheddar cheese (not cream cheese like in many places) and are by far my favorite fast food side dish anywhere. Went here today with a group of kids after kayaking nearby at Charles River Canoe & Kayak. The staff was super-friendly, the pizza was delicious (especially the veggie delight pizza-- wow, they really pack on a vegetable garden!), and there was ample seating (at least 6 small booths inside). The rude gentleman you'll read about in these reviews seems to finally be gone, so I can confidently say the staff is nice. The online ordering system is great, too. Makes it easy. Riverside is located on the West Roxbury/Dedham border and considering the number of mediocre pizza places within a 5 mile radius, it's hard to find anything that stands out but this establishment does the job for me. Their pizza is very good. I LOVE their Meat Lover's pizza but I've gotten a few different options and have been at least satisfied with all. Their subs are also quite good, esp their Steak and Cheese and their Chicken cutlet which are my two favorites. They also have a great little deal for a grilled cheese and fries for $3.75. I love ordering that, even if it's supposed to be for kids (shh). Their fries are pretty good, and I just love their mozz. sticks and garlic bread (with cheese!) as well. I haven't been thrilled with their chicken wings or their pasta dinners but they're not awful by any means, just wasn't my favorite. Riverside really stands out in the service department. I order delivery from them routinely (probably 2-4 times a month) and I think I've waited more than 30 minutes maybe twice out of the 30-50 or so times I've ordered from them over the last two years. Their prices are fair (and to the person who complains about the web convenience fee: $1.20 is nothing, Dominos charges $3.00 for a delivery fee and I guarantee you that they will take longer and the food won't be as fresh). Riverside doesn't have a delivery fee. Their Riverside Rewards is also a nice program but you have to order fairly often for it to be useful and I think they've scaled down the rewards a bit recently. But overall, I still can't say enough about it. Truly great. read more

This is our goto pizza place! We've tried all the locals and they are THE BEST! I love the garlic-spinach pizza, but change it up sometimes with the sausage-roasted pepper-onion. Or sometimes mushroom-onion-pepper. My wife gets cheese and sliced tomatoes. Sometimes we get pepperoni pizza. Whatever we get, we also pair it up with one of their delicious fresh salads. Greek, Caesar, or even their garden salad is always big and fresh, with whatever dressing you like. They also have FAST delivery so you don't even have to run over to their shop if you don't want to. Everything gets to you fresh and fast! Oh, I forgot to mention their GREAT sub sandwiches. Hot, like steak and cheese (and onions -YUM!) or cold, like their delicious chicken or tuna salad or cold cuts. And awesome fish 'n chips! Riverside's pizza is my favorite in all of the greater Boston area. I grew up eating Greek style pizza, so that's what I like, and Riverside's is exceptional. It's got a delicious golden crust, it's nice and cheesy, and it has tasty sauce (and not too much of it). We also order subs from Riverside when we're not in the mood for pizza, and those are good too. So are their salads. I'm not terribly crazy about their buffalo wings (too bready) but I won't hold that against them. The plain chicken fingers/tenders are good. We always order for delivery (we live on the Chestnut Hill/West Roxbury line) and it's prompt, so the food's still hot. Likeable delivery people, too. read more

I ordered a buffalo chicken calzone with a side of blue cheese and marinara sauce and spicy fries for delivery and was told it would take around 30 minutes. The food arrived an hour and 10 minutes later, luke warm at best. The fries were extremely soggy and tasteless and the calzone came with 2 sides of blue cheese instead of the marinara. I ordered takeout from here a few days ago after reading the favorable reviews. I won't be back. Their salad made me sick. I ate all of it, which was 99% iceberg lettuce with 4 pieces of tomato. I added bleu cheese dressing. So---whether there's a problem with the salad ingredients or the restaurant's hygiene---don't eat the salad.
