Their other selections beyond pizza also hit the spot - my girlfriend and I got some pizza and a cheeseburger over the weekend, and it was $15 for a huge pepperoni pizza slice and a bacon cheeseburger, full box of fries, and a drink on the side. My gf was absolutely ravenous for a bacon cheeseburger so I stopped by West Napoli for takeout. I also ordered myself a slice of pepperoni pizza. The woman at the counter was so nice! Solid pizza. Pros: They aren't stingy with toppings, including cheese. Very hefty pizza, more than many places. Good value. Red onions used as onions, vs yellow or white, which is a great flavor choice. Cons: Greek-style crust, not my favorite type. Sort of messy to eat. But 4 stars nonetheless. I normally like thick crusts but the crust on the pizzas was very plain and flavorless so I would have preferred thinner versions of these crusts. The pizza here used to be the best around for Neapolitan style pizza. The crust used to be chewy and flavorful, clearly hand stretched. Not anymore- tonight it was dry, flavorless, and seemed pressed out. Neither Italian style nor Greek style, more cheap frozen from the grocery store. What a shame. Agreed with the comment that if you like a thicker, bread-y crust, this is the spot for you. It was still pretty light and fluffy though, plenty of air pockets, with a harder/more solid bottom- and it had good chew, good flavor, plenty of toppings (love the thin ham on the Hawaiian, it gets a bit charred on the edges), and the cheese/sauce went close to the edge. I was in the area for a game night and we ordered a large Napoli and BBQ chicken pizza. Definitely liked the Napoli better for all the toppings it had and it was pretty loaded. I was not a fan of the BBQ chicken. You can't really taste the bbq flavor. I felt like the dough on both pizzas were on the dry side and didn't have much flavor especially when eating the crust. Picked up a pizza and, well, it's pizza. Not great, not bad, just ok pizza. The elements: Crust: Solid, well browned not thick but not thin, but also not a lot of flavor. Tastes like a dough that was just made and not left overnight to build flavor, very plain. Sauce: Plain and ordinary, no complexity at all. I asked for extra sauce and still there was a very small amount of sauce on the pizza. Cheese: Pretty sure it's just part skim mozzarella. Rather bland cheese. Would benefit greatly from the addition of some grated picante provolone. Toppings: Pepperoni was fine, Onions: I was disappointed that the onions were Bermuda onions and not yellow onions, I definitely prefer the sweeter taste of yellow onions. I will not be attempting this place again! Napoli Cafe offers online ordering and delivery, which is great. I always go with that because I don't feel like driving at night. I place my order with them, it's accepted. 10 minutes later, I receive a call from the ordering company saying "Napoli Pizza can't deliver because they don't have a driver going in that direction"....that is not my problem! West Napoli rocks my socks off, which is admittedly an odd thing to say about a seemingly inert local sub shop. But yeah, I'm a big fan. If I could lay out all the chicken salad subs I've ordered from here in a straight line, they'd easily make it to Worcester, if not further. It's a family-owned and operated restaurant, and the people are wonderful. The owner is always incredibly friendly and personally welcomes the regulars. I even went in once, forgetting to hit the ATM first (they only take cash, pretty much the only downside) and instead of making me leave, get cash and come back like just about any other establishment, they gave me my food and told me I could come back in and pay the next time I came around. In addition to the personal touch, the food is really great. The preparation and serving of chicken is what really makes or breaks a good sub shop for me, and theirs is phenomenal. They are also incredibly quick, and usually have my food ready in the time it takes for me to drive 1.5 miles down the road to pick it up. read more
