I came here with my partner and parents. We felt extremely unwelcome by our waitress. We didn't understand why. It was 4pm last Sunday. Only BIPOC family in the restaurant and felt a lot of eyes on us from guests and staff. Tried to ignore it and give the place a shot. It was supposed to be a cute double date. To begin with, this restaurant has excellent Italian food and portions are enormous. Five stars for their cooking. I was there Sunday night. Part of my order was the two stuffed clams appetizer. The first clam was fine, but eating the second proved dangerous as a large, sharp piece of the clam sheik was in the stuffing. I bit into it and removed it from my mouth. However I could have swallowed it with tragic results. Complaints to the waitress were not forthcoming. She merely took it away without an apology. When the bill came, I asked to speak to the manager, who clearly looked bothered by having to address a complaint. She Offered to comp one clam, without expressing an apology. She seemed clearly annoyed and bored with me. It is ny understanding that the stuffed clams are not made in-house. I surely hope the owner has related my experience to the maker of these clams. And, finally, I hope someone will instill in the manager with better social skills. That is a requisite of her job. Three of us were there and we all had the same reaction. The only thing more remarkable than the portion size was how quickly the steaming plates, heaped with the sort of fare that personifies comfort food, are whisked to your table, a mere half-conversation after ordering. The bread on the table may look enticing, but my advice is to leave it alone, otherwise you risk either ignoring your entree, toting home a large portion, or deciding to finish the plate then dream of your couch, whose support will be the only thing keeping you off the floor. No meat, no chicken are ever eaten with pasta, pasta is one course meat is another. There is no chicken, penne, à la vodka, doesn't exist, Italians eat very simple, flavorful dishes with very few ingredients, now that we got past that I will say the food is fairly good in an American sort of way. Went to celebrate my friends birthday. I hadn't even taken a sip of my cocktail and the waitress moved a dish and spilled the entire drink all over me! I was soaked and she barely apologized. The manager never acknowledged the situation and not even the drink that was spilled on me taken off the bill! When I finally complained about being soaked all through my meal and not doing the right thing, Allison said..Well it was an accident... Obviously, but I was shocked when she only took $12 dollars off the bill, and made me feel very uncomfortable, instead of trying to make up for what happened. Ok, maybe I'm fussy but, this was the worst veal Marsala I've ever had. My family is Italian from NY so maybe I'm not aware of Italian cuisine in this area. We were greeted with a chilly response. We were told all the tables were reserved in an empty restaurant! We were placed at a high top in the bar area which was fairly uncomfortable after traveling for hours. So I ordered the veal Marsala and my husband mirrored my choice. When it arrived the veal wasn't breaded as we are used to but sometimes different areas prepare it differently. Our server, Jocelyn, was quite curt and not terribly welcoming, again we had the frosty feeling. She asked if we wanted bread and of course we wanted bread, the bread provided was a multi grain kind and a French bread, but we were starving as it was 4pm and we both had not eaten all day so.... Ok, veal Marsala was coming!! The food came quickly so we jumped in. The veal was flavorless and seemed like it was cooked on a flat grill and put on the pasta and the sauce put on top. There were mushrooms that were an after thought and barely cooked. The sauce itself tasted like Campbell soup. It was very watery and unusually sweet. I'm not sure what their recipe is but mushrooms cooked with the Marsala give it the depth. We didn't want anymore thank you. I guess that's what you get for getting Italian at a pub in the Boston area. We should have gone for seafood! A note: the bathroom was clean which usually Indicates a clean kitchen so I wanted to make note of that. The rest of the pub felt a little depressing with no music just a ball game on the tv in the bar. I'm sure there might be better options on the menu but you are being judged by strangers on what ever item they choose, so each item should be its best. It's a pub, not a restaurant, probably a good place to grab a beer. $60+ for two entrees with no drinks or appetizers. read more

If you're looking for a good Italian eatery outside of Boston, definitely check this place out! What we ordered: Apps: Beet Salad and Eggplant Involtini. Out of all the places I had eggplant for apps, this was my favorite. The sauce was superb! Entree: I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce - delicious! Cheesy and creamy Portions was very generous, and the meatballs were good! Dessert: Gotta make room for the most important meal of the day - dessert! Haha I ordered the bread pudding and it was A+. It contained slices of apple and cinnamon. Overall from food to service and in between, everything was great. Went to this place yesterday with my mom and a friend. Here's a few things: 1. The front host desk was impolite. Jocelyn, a manager of the establishment who I read on the wall has been there for 9 years now, was seemingly annoyed and had an expression on her face that we were walk ins. Very unwelcoming attitude and very judgey about the fact we wanted to simply check if they had a table. I immediately got a bad impression she was rude and knew I didn't want to eat there. I could even tell from the stale cold bread alone they were serving to tables in front that it wasn't gonna be great. However, I kept my mouth shut because my mother was in a good mood for the first time in months and was hungry, so I gave in and said we could if they had a table. Mind you, I've worked customer service. I've seen the operations behind businesses that serve the public too, so I understand having a hard day. I get not always having a pep in your step. And sure, it was a busy time to walk in, but my mother has barely left the house months, so it was impromptu to cheer herself up. You don't know what people are going through. We were just checking. We could see with our eyes the bar was full. We just wanted to ask because we heard the food was great, because why the hell not. You never know if they have a table open. And guess what? They did! For the future, if you're so busy and don't have a space for us (which you actually did anyways), don't make ugly facial expressions. Or if you don't want walk ins, let people know. Trust me, I would have been more than ecstatic to dine at another establishment. If you get the pizza, it looked delicious from what I saw. If you order that, it's probably fine. Anything else? Don't even bother. I've eaten better food at my college dining hall. I've never left reviews either, I'm quite an understanding person, but after walking in, the atmosphere was incredibly unsettling. Especially when welcoming customers. This experience struck a chord with me and I wanted to leave. On a positive note though, our waitress was fantastic. Props to her. Incredibly sweet!! I have driven by this place a million times over they years. Finally, I decided to give it a shot. So glad I did. My wife and I went on a Sunday night. We were greeted by a very friendly host and we were told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait. No problem. We stood near the bar and 5 minutes later, two bar seats opened up. We sat at the bar. Came here for breakfast which I believe they only serve on weekends. Boyfriend and I both got a form of eggs Benny and it was good. I felt COVID safe here as everyone was required to wear a mask and each table has a plexiglass divider. Service was quick and I made a reservation so I was able to come in and get seated right away. The eggs were bland and not runny as I like my poached eggs to be but the crispy homefries made up for it. They only serve black coffee. OK so I am a super super brunch girl. Brunch is by far my most favorite meal ever so with that being said, I am super super picky about it. I went to Brickhouse for the first time this past Saturday with my mom and my husband and let me tell you it was amazing from start to finish. I had a homemade chocolate chip pancake as an appetizer and oh my goodness it was perfection. It was not too sweet nor was it overwhelming with the chocolate chips, but the perfect balance of pancake batter and chocolate chips to make an amazing pancake. I also had a meatlovers omelette, sans the ham, double on the bacon with home fries and toast. Every part of the meal was awesome and I have no regrets at all. I highly recommend making a reservation or doing take-out!!!! I've gone multiple times, and everything (non-mushroom appetizer related) has been 11/10 amazing. The pizzas, particularly the melanzana parmagiana (crispy diced eggplant) are SO good. The eggplant parm is amazing, even for those who *think* they aren't fans of eggplant. I want to give a special shout-out to Jessica, one of the waitresses, who provided excellent service a few times we dined in! And another extra special shoutout to Joslyn (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) who coordinated our 50-person wedding buffet catering. She was super accommodating, helpful with how much of which things to order, typical guest habits and guidelines, made suggestions on how best to cater to guests with multiple allergies, gave us tips and tricks on how best to keep the food hot, etc. And the food itself was amazing - every single guest, 100%, not an exaggeration, said the food was absolutely delicious!!! read more

Wanted a brick oven pizza today so decided to give this place a try because of their raving reviews. Ordered the bella vista pizza and was excited to try but it was SUPER disappointing to say the least. This place is only 15 min from my house and the pizza was already cold by the time I got home but that's ok. I reheated it in the oven for 10 min. Now the taste of the Pizza: VERY BLAND with absolutely NO kind of seasoning. I had to throw some black pepper AND red hot sauce on it for it to even be tolerable to eat.
