Always a solid choice! This is one of the better food chains out there. The sandwiches are always fresh and consistent. I come to this location to grab lunch sometimes if I'm in my office down the street. I know I can order online but I'd rather order in person as the service is always fast and I like watching the deli meat get freshly sliced. The "regular" size sub is plenty big enough and they don't skimp on toppings either. I'm glad this is one of the lunch options in the area :) read more

Jersey Mike's hit Newton in 2023 with a new store and a deal - a buy one get one regular sub coupon for their first five days. Hours are 10am - 9pm. So I decided to sign up for their membership - MyMike's - cause free birthday sub. They require your name, cellphone number (Googlevoice didn't work), and preferred location. Birthday is optional, but necessary if you want the freebie. For Mike's newbies, Mike's Way is with Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Vinegar, Oil and Spices. This location is on the McDonald's side of Needham St, and has some limited parking availability behind the storefront. Seats inside were basically 8 two tops, although the one a family was seated at might actually be a 4 top rather than 2 tables slid together. Order at the left side of the counter, pick up on the right side by the soda fountain. Any adjustments requiring a surcharge (ie. cheese, meat) should be mentioned upon ordering. Extra toppings or adjustments to your hot orders as well. But cold orders may be followed along the counter, and adjusted enroute. We got Mike's Chicken Philly $9.41 reg with a light smear of mayo and some tomatoes. I was feeling roast beef and turkey and their bacon looked nice and crispy, so the Club Supreme $10.11 reg was ordered Mike's Way with extra tomatoes and light mayo. I learnt that Mike's Way had two lines of oil and three of the vinegar (or was it the reverse?), but if you want less, ask for "light on the juice". Learning the lingo here! We shared both sandwiches, and they were good. I need to give their rosemary parmesan bread a try next time, cause the white was fine, but nothing special. Service was new and eager to please since it was a new shop in town. And this was my first visit at any Mike's, so we were both learning. Oh, if you are a member, be sure to enter your cellphone # when paying so you earn some points. And it looks like they are a Pepsi cola purveyor... bummer for the Coke fans out there. 3.5 stars read more

I feel so sad to be giving Jersey Mike's a 3 star review today. It was my first time trying food from the sandwich joint, and I was expecting so much more given that this place has so much hype. Honestly, I was completely underwhelmed. I ordered the No. 7 Turkey and provolone sub on a wheat roll, with Mike's way toppings and pickles. Aside from the stellar and fast service I received in the shop which was great, the only noteworthy/flavorful part of the sandwich were the pickles. Every ingredient was very fresh, don't get me wrong, but everything was lackluster in flavor. I was surprised due to the vinegar topping that comes on Mike's way-- maybe I didn't get enough? However, due to the efficient service and freshness of the ingredients I received today, I'm going to give Mike's the benefit of the doubt. I'm not going to completely eliminate it from my radar, and will give it another try soon. read more

Jersey Mike's follows an allergy protocol that works for me. I have celiac disease, so for them to keep gluten-free buns in house, change, gloves, knives, cutting boards, etc. ...and then have their condiments for allergies aside, it all makes me feel comfortable eating there. I especially liked my visit to the Needham St., Newton location recently. There was a young lady there who made my sub while singing along to tunes on the radio. She even suggested a custom sub that I hadn't thought of, and it was delicious. She was the highlight of my visit. On the way out, she said she hoped to see me again, which really has never happened at a Jersey Mike's - and I've been to lots of locations on the East Coast. Great place for a quick bite. I've never been to a Jersey Mike's and am happy one is now opened nearby. There is plenty of parking in the back. I love it that they slice the deli meat fresh right there in front of you. You can customize what you want to add to the subs. Cold subs are put together right there in front of you. It was a good size sub. The hot subs you have to wait for it to be made. The sub bread was nice and soft. Could have used a little more meat but was very tasty. The line moved along efficiently. They have quite an assembly line of workers. There were little tables for sit down, so can easily eat in or do a takeaway. read more

First time at a Jersey Mike's. Wasn't overly impressed. Had the Big Kahuna. It was tasty, pretty good quality, but I just can't get past the bread. I would much prefer a standard sub roll over the fluffy, soft roll they use. The staff was disjointed but not unfriendly, and the place was clean. Still, with so many local independent shops putting out better product for less money I don't understand the appeal of these chain stores. Stick with your local sub shop. read more
