    Same good old country food

Haven't been here in years. No longer large tables with multiple families but , it's still got the same charm. Food's good and the staff couldn't be nicer. Hope it doesn't take long to return.

We came to explore Dahlonega New Year's Day & tried The Smith House for lunch. The wait was about an hour which told us the food was probably going to be great. I'm not a huge southern food kind of person but everything was great. I do not like collard greens but ate theirs and liked them. Definitely a good spot & fun time. They know how to cook!

Great food and wonderful atmosphere. I wold highly recommend to disregard the one star review. As you can see by the picture that is all the food that comes to the table a wonderful mix for sure. It was more than we could eat sad to say. My wife loved the Okra, collards, and corn. I loved the smashed potatoes with the gravy from the pot roast, Mac and cheese and the beans. Basket of very warm mini corn muffins were great and also the butter was soft and easy to spread over the rolls and muffins. Outstanding do not miss an opportunity to eat there.

Good service, nice clean design and good location. Food is not great out of a can, or from frozen. Not a great value for the money.

Service amazing. Disappointed in the food. No flavor. So bland. Pricy. Did enjoy the squash relish and cinnamon roll.

This time we came after hiking all day and sat outside with our dogs. Ambiance-touristy Irish pub. It's a big place that still tries to be Irish-ish. They fail but it's a worthwhile effort and people seem to like it. One issue with the design-it's a huge place but they have 2-single person bathrooms-one next to the bar and one on the second floor. I don't even understand how you get a building permit with that occupancy and so few bathrooms. My wife and I each got a burger, sub veggie patty. They are getting 2 stars for the fact they don't upcharge for the vegan patty. Everyone upcharges for a veggie burger, so this is an impressive give-a-way to customers. However, I added mushrooms and roasted red peppers, which added $2 each, and gluten free sandwich bread, which was a $5 upcharge. First, those veggies should not be a $2 upcharge each. That's obnoxious. Your menu burgers have toppings and are cheaper than a plain burger with 2 veggies. But, I am not taking stars away for the upcharge. I saw them, I accepted them. My problem is that with those changes, this was a $25 burger at an Irish pub in north GA and it tasted like a $5 burger from an Irish pub in north GA. It was dry, unseasoned, and very bland. You charged me $5 for 2 slices of bread from a loaf that costs $7.99 retail. A red pepper is $0.75 cents, maybe, retail, and for a couple teaspoons you charged me $2. Who knows what mushrooms cost, but the point is, for two toppings and sub 2 slices of sandwich bread, you charged me for a high-end steakhouse burger and served me a terrible backyard grill burger. On top of that, I ordered a whiskey (knob creek) on the rocks. On my check was a $2 rocks charge. So...you charged me $2 for ice? It makes no sense. It's the same amount of liquor. When I asked the server about it, she said because they pour an extra 2 ounces in. Obviously she lied because she had no clue what she was talking about. First, why would adding ice equal and extra 2 ounces? Maybe if I asked for an up martini or something, but I am adding volume, so why would you also add liquor? Second, my whiskey was $13 and a restaurant shot is 1, maybe 1.5 ounces. Do you really mean to tell me you gave me an extra 2 shots, maybe an extra 1.33 shots of a $13 liquor for $2 only because I asked for ice? I'm not an idiot. So, poor food, lying service, and unreasonable upcharges. I'm not coming back

The bread pudding was delicious last night, and the servers were so friendly even with our arriving later in the evening. The breakfast this morning was glorious. The portion size was perfect, super filling without being too much, and the cornbread that came with it was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the gumbo. I also got the roasted sweet potatoes and if you only order one thing on the menu, let it be those. They were sweet, flavorful, and genuinely some of the best sweet potatoes I have ever had in my life. I'm already thinking about coming back just for them alone. Overall, such a great experience and I will definitely be back!

The cocktails were fabulous. I had a Mojito with fresh mint.! It is a seafood restaurant. I'm allergic to seafood and they flagged my meal and they informed me they cook their seafood in a separate oil ! Anything breaded and fried that's not seafood goes into a clean oil fryer!!! That alone is impressive enough to tell you to go go go! The balcony is on the second floor, it overlooks the historic part of the town of Dahlonega. The weather was amazing It was very pleasant.. The inside seating had typical seafood restaurant decor like fish on the wall and netting and starfish . Nautical themes throughout with port windows and ropes. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,
