Excellent food. The veggies were just amazing and the lobster bisque was to die for! A tad pricey but oh so worth it!

Service was EXTREMELY slow - we waited 1/2 hour for water - and there was only one other table in the place - and they were waiting for their bill. The waitress was cheerful. However, even though we had made reservations, they were not set up for us -at all. The food was good, but very expensive for the portions. For example, I ordered the Bahn Mi. The sandwich was average sized and there were 18 "McDonald's -sized" fries on my plate for $13.95. Quality was average - several fatty spots in my meat. A glass of soda is $3.00 - no refills. Outdoor seating is beautiful; indoors is very dated. Several in our party have never been here before and they will not be back. Price for portion / quality is very poor. read more

I love the menu at Riverside; it's an underappreciated gem on the way to the Whitefish chain. They have well thought out flavor combinations that show coherent, thorough knowledge of culinary tradition. Do yourself a favor and stop in here during your next trip up to the lake. Horrible service! We sat at the only booth available, still dirty. The place was empty besides the booths being full. Figured we would be greeted soon with a sanitized cloth to wipe the table and take our drink order. NOPE. Took awhile, but finally got grumpy/droopy greeting and never wiped the table even tho she kept glancing at the crumbs. I had to ask for cream and a spoon for my coffee. She forgot. So I had to ask another server for it because ours was ignoring us. Never got menus but that's ok because I lost my appetite with the dirty table. We were done with our drinks and waiting for our bill for WAY to long ready to leave. She finally came and asked if we were done. We said yes and asked for the check. She came back 15min later and asked again if we were done. We said yes and she asked for $10 then walked away. Confused we asked the table next to us if they got a paper bill and they said we have to ask for it. Everything about this experience was confusing but didn't need to be, had the server explained things. Everything was awkward and the worst attempted dining experience ever. read more

My family and I had dinner at Riverside tonight. Atmosphere is so cozy and the staff is all so friendly. Our server was very attentive, we never waited for anything. Drinks and food were timely with our salads arriving quickly. The dinner salads came on a chilled plate - very reminiscent of the good ol supper clubs! The walleye was delicious and not a bone to be seen. Other dishes at our table were the BLT, Chili, Dagwood Sandwich and a kids chicken strips. We all loved the entire experience start to finish. Definitely dine at Riverside if you are looking for a cozy and delicious meal. read more

Great, family restaurant that has been in the Mudek family for 40 years. Home style cooking. Great specials. All you can eat chicken on Tuesday and Thursday and all you can eat fish on Friday. Prime rib on Friday and Saturday. Located right on the river next to the bridge and dam. read more

Our first Sunday brunch was fantastic-- this time not so much, but we did come in at the end of service , so we were taking chances...eggs cold , most things were, but the eggs Benedict were good except for the hard muffin . Wow. Had a great meal last night that was served to us by Shane! Service and food were top notch! Had the fish and chips and my husband had the ribs and chicken. This was our second time here. The lobster bisque was excellent, the walleye sandwich was very good, the augratin potatoes were very good. The service was great. The only reason they didn't get a 5 is, I ordered the Menh bi ( sorry for the spelling) sandwich which I had before because it was so good, was not. Hardly any meat mostly pickles and veg. Solid place for dinner in crosslake. We visited july 3 and even with the busy weekend, there was plenty of seating. Fried chicken never disappoints--you can do chicken takeout too. Do NOT come here if you want a decent cocktail before dinner. I came here last night with a long time friend I haven't seen in awhile. We asked for a cocktail menu. The waiter said, "we don't have a drink menu, but we can make anything you want." We asked for mojitos. "Sure," he said. Took quite awhile, then the waiter came back and said "The bartender is harvesting fresh mint from the garden, shouldn't be too much longer." Then he eventually delivered to us a pint sized glass of tonic water, cut with soda water with a couple of limes and a sprig of mint. NO discernible taste of rum whatsoever. We were disappointed but being polite and eating our fake and sloppy Banh mi sandwiches were just trying to go with the flow. When he came back and asked if we wanted another, we said "Sure, but could you actually put some rum in it this time? There was not even a taste of rum." He came back and said, "Yes, there was rum in it." We said, well can you put in a double?" He said he would ask but that he was sort of AFRAID of the bartender! Then he came back and said that the drink would be double the price with more rum. So we just ordered another and hoped for the best. Second drink we actually tasted a bit of rum. Then we got the bill for these half assed rum and tonics called mojitos..... $10 each! LIke WTF!!! Food is mediocre, dinner menu is ridiculously priced and the cocktails are just a fricking rip off. MUCH better food, drinks, pricing, everything just down county road 3 to the south at MAUCIERI'S. Trust me. read more

I really liked my walleye and salad. The server was so friendly and sweet, though there was one small issue with my lunch. Granted I had a bit of a special order, but instead of bringing a $2 side salad she brought a $7 dinner salad, which didn't look like a dinner salad until I saw the price. ;) love the view and it is so nice to have Summit IPA on tap. read more

We have been here several times throughout the years and always thought the food and service were very good. Tonight was no exception. Lobster bisque, ribs, and champagne pasta with chicken were all good and priced right. You can set in bar or the dining room with a fireplace for two different experiences, and outside when weather permits. A great choice for a variety of food or just bar fare and watch a game on TV. The service here is terrible! We waited to place our order for 25 minutes. We all ordered water but it came in plastic cups while everyone else had glass. The delicious offerings were typical of your modern American comfort food establishment. However, they had a few unique items on the menu like escargot, calamari, and a bánh mì sandwich for those who have a little bit more adventurous taste buds. Had to give them five stars because they allowed us to have our dogs on the back deck even though it didn't seem like it was normally their policy. Oh, and the deck? We are from Spirit lake in Aitkin. We were looking for a new place to have dinner. Checked out Yelp and found the Riverside. What a great find, we had lobster bisque (excellent). My husband had a burger he likes his medium rare, so said it would have been a 10 except was cooked to well done. It was the one with Jarlsberg cheese. I had the benh mi (sp) sandwich also very good. Riverside is my go to for quality food in the Crosslake area. Order anything on the menu, you won't be disappointed! The steak sandwich is one of my favorites. They use their leftover prime rib from their prime rib night to make it. I love that it's a family owned establishment as well. Bob or Shane will fix you up with a nice cocktail! read more

We had lunch for the second time in three weeks and will be going back to try new things regularly. The homemade soups are delicious. The onion rings are truly the best we have ever had. They are sweet, light, crisp and not greasy. I have just been reading their reviews and see that there are many more options we will enjoy sampling. We celebrated my parent's 51st wedding anniversary at the Riverside Inn tonight and the food was great and the service was even better. Two of us had the petite sirloin and the meat was high quality and right-sized. Dad had the all-you-can-eat ribs (tonight's special) and liked them a lot but was especially pleased with the chicken wild rice soup. He said he could have eaten several bowls of that for the whole meal and been very happy. The view from the back of the restaurant is amazing. We have been coming to Crosslake every summer for 20 years, and Riverside Inn has the best food in town. My husband loves the lobster bisque (lots of lobster in it!). The fried chicken is perfection! They have an all-you-can-eat chicken special on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Great steaks, au gratin potatoes, salads, sandwiches. (I especially like the shaved prime rib sandwich!) The only item on the menu that I'm not crazy about is the shrimp scampi -- sometimes the shrimp is a little overcooked and it sits in a puddle of watery butter. Everything else is delicious! The service is prompt and friendly. They really make sure you're taken care of. If you sit in back at the window tables or out on the deck, you get a beautiful view of the Pine River and all the wildlife around it. A great restaurant for families and large groups too! read more

We used to go there for champagne chicken that was out of this world. No longer on menu. A few years ago the steak prices took a $5 jump each and that was outrageous and we haven't been back since.
