The food was definitely in the price range of what I paid in this economy. The service was great. The atmosphere felt like everyone around was family as everyone knew everyone while I was there.

What a nice little hidden gem, stopped in here for breakfast and I ordered the Breakfast Bowl and it was delicious I would definitely order it again. Server was also awesome she did a great job!

3 of the 4 piece Broasted Chicken. Allow extra time for the Broasting Process. 15-20 minutes.

If you are in the York/ Lancaster area , you must try the Broasted Chicken at Rivertowne Restaurant. Warning: We ordered 4 piece platters. We were so hungry for this, that we decided to start eating first. Yes, it's that good! I tried the Cream of Crab Soup. The diced peppers made it unlike any other Cream of Crab Soup I've ever had. The Cheddar Mashed Potatoes were tasty and the Harvard beets for the vegetable completed our entree. They have a bar and a cold Yuengling was the perfect drink for our dining experience. Our server was very attentive and anticipated our needs. We can't wait to return. - Judy and Tim

Traditional down home style diner with solid breakfast fare (apparently good food and drinks other times as well) but we've only eaten here for breakfast over the past few years so we'll focus on that. I'm a fan of standard PA Dutch Country fare, so my first question was, "Do you have scrapple?" And the answer was, "Yes, we do." Ok, off to a great start. Along with that I ordered Eggs over easy, Home Fries (not those frozen thingies) - but real potatoes browned on the griddle, coffee and a side dish of SOS (more commonly called Cream Chipped Beef or Dried Beef in gravy). The scrapple was good, save for the fact that it was dropped in the deep fryer (a common practice), but I would have preferred grilled. Eggs done to ooey gooey perfection, SOS loaded with nicely chopped pieces of salty paper-thin beef in a thick white gravy. Toast topped it all off and I was stuffed with a smile on my face. My wife ordered her regular fare of scrambled eggs (which came cooked very well; cooked through completely but remaining moist). In addition she ordered Hash Browns (these were slightly underdone and missing the crispy brown edges we like.) Finally she asked for crispy bacon and received 5 dandy slices. All in all a great start to any day...but I think I might need a nap first.

As we were pedaling past Hell In A Bucket, my fiancée said we should stop there on our way back. Sure enough, we stopped by to reward ourselves for taking on the 28-mi NW River Trail. What a place!!! Seriously! First of all, we wanted to sit at the bar (our usual preference when dining out, if it's possible). The bar was full, but there was one stool open. A guy noticed that we were looking for another stool, and he gladly gave up his place so we could sit and eat together. I later found out that he was the owner and Brewer @ Hell In A Bucket. He had moved to a few chairs down and was talking to his friend explaining how the Dark Star Stout was brewed. The DSS was superb! Janie, my fiancée, picked the Harry Hood 12oz. Which she enjoyed. While these beers were absolutely what "the doctor ordered" after our bike ride, the best was yet to come. We were handed a sheet with today's specials. I did not expect a brewery to have "daily specials" at least not in the form of food. The specials included a Souvlaki Mediterranean Sampler (think, a charcuterie with goodies from Italy and Greece). We also chose an another special called Arancini (a baseball sized cheesy risotto deep fried to perfection). Lastly, we shared the "Pasta of the Day" -- Eggplant Parmigiana on a bed of pasta. Everything was Amazing! We continued to compliment the chef when the owner said he only started a short time ago. I said, "Keep him!" Our dinner tasted like we were eating at a 5-Star NYC restaurant right here in Marietta. ...and at a price that was so reasonable that I KNOW I'll be back! Aside from the great beers, the phenomenally great food, I also have to say that Hell In A has a great vibe. We know we'll be coming back, maybe without even riding the trail!
