waited 50 minutes for nothing put in a dark corner to sit and party of 8 next to us we're so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk, after getting sodas and hard bread we didn't see our waitress for 45 minutes, after waiting we finally tracked a waitress down and told her we were leaving, she grabbed our waitress who responded with "ok" and a shoulder shrug. I understand waiting and being busy but for the price we were going to pay for our food someone could stopped by and said something in those 45 minutes we sat there. read more

Wow! My husband and I ventured here for dinner one night upon hearing all the great reviews. There's a large parking lot across the street as well as some street parking. The building itself is huge and you can't miss it. We were greeted and sat promptly at our reservation time. I highly recommend making recommendations as they were completely full when we arrived. Our server was extremely nice and able to guide us through the menu, which has such a variety of options. The drinks were good and I especially loved that my wine was cold! We started with the wings and mussels. The flavors were excellent and everything was cooked perfectly. My husband got the short rib special and left nothing on the plate. I got the fish and chips for my meal. It was one of the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. The fish had a nice light breading full of flavor and the fish was cooked just right. We finished with the salted caramel ice cream. I can tell you I will definitely be back and I will be saving room for this dessert. Overall, the place itself was clean and just has a great vibe. I was in Columbia for only a few hours on Saturday and stopped in Bullys based on Yelp reviews. I really wasn't that hungry after having two slices of pizza in Lititz, but after looking at the menu I couldn't resist ordering the appetizer special. Last Saturday we had a very expensive and profoundly disappointing experience at the Greenfield Inn, Lancaster. Last night we joined our cousins at Bully's and it was the polar opposite; delicious and beautifully presented food, attentive service and a lively atmosphere. The prices are very fair and there is a wide range of offerings/price points. It should also be noted that even though they had done an extensive refurbishment in 2020, there were new tables, chairs and salt pepper mills. We particularly appreciate the level of cleanliness and thoroughness with which they clean the tables and chairs between seatings. One closing note, if the dish says "spicy" it comes with a pretty formidable punch so choose wisely and enjoy! read more

Lived in Lancaster for 38 years and never tried this restaurant. Tried it yesterday and was not disappointed. I had the salmon with teriyaki sauce on garlic mashed potatoes, with Brussel sprouts. We actually ate here two nights of our mini vacation. First night we had appetizers and a shrimp Caesar salad. Crab dip was delicious. Scallops were okay but nothing to brag about. The salad was huge and the shrimp were so good! It was enough for us to share. The second night I got the crab cake dinner which was delicious. Dave, the owner of this wonderful little establishment, has actually restored a little bit of my faith in humanity. Upon arriving, (my honey and I had a room reserved at the inn up above the restaurant/pub) he greeted us with a welcome, a smile, and a handshake. He gave us a tour, explained the ins and outs, and escorted us to our room, all while treating us as if we were friends or family coming to stay a night or two. It's a beautiful building, gorgeous wood throughout, those really pretty copper tile looking ceilings, immaculately clean and neat, and the lighting was just right. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, jazz music playing through the stereo system at the perfect volume. We both loved this place and will definitely be back. After hearing good things about Bully's, decided to take the family here. Enjoyed the atmosphere & hospitality. We ordered a Serloin Bistro Steak and 2 of The Bay Burgers, along with some drinks. We celebrated a friend's birthday and I was so excited by her choice of restaurant. I've always wanted to go. We shared the Mexican street corn that we all felt was outstanding! BULLY'S!!! A star in the old beat up river town of Columbia PA lol I grew up a town over and currently live in Columbia right down the street. The atmosphere is beautiful, perfect place to take a first date lol I recommend going here everytime I get asked out it's romantic, dim lighting. Last time I was here I got Sirloin Bistro Steak Aged 10oz. center cut coulotte with a wild mushroom crumbled bleu cheese sauce. And ughhh let me tell you!! The meat melted in your mouth, the blue cheese sauce was TO DIE FOR and wasn't overly cheesey or heavy so it paired perfectly together with the meat. I think about that meal often. Very often in fact. Is pricey but for that meal if its the same every time - I'd pay $50! I've also got the bangers and mash - perfection. The crab dip- perfection. Next time I will get the duck, and have to try the pork chops, everyone raves about them! GO HERE!! SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS!! Yes you might pay a little extra but it's worth it! We had a Local Flavor coupon so we jumped on the bike and headed on down. We arrived at 3:40 but they opened at 4:00, so we say on the steps outside and waited. By 3:50, Kayla (apologies if I'm spelling the name incorrectly) came outside and greeted us warmly and invited us inside. We chose to sit at the bar as we often do. Kayla was magnificent. Not just as a barkeep/server, but as a human being in general. I won't get into all the details, but trust me when I tell you that the world needs more Kaylas. From a server standpoint, she patiently and thoroughly went through the history of the building, which is absolute gorgeous and warm. The bar is the original bar constructed in 1903. It's an extremely warm and inviting place, and such a refreshing change from the newer, more modern places that feature cavernous spaces that echo. As for the food, we chose to go with pub fare as it was our first visit. I had a burger with bacon jam that was, literally, ridiculous. I made the mistake of ordering bacon on this burger because, in my experience, bacon jam is pretty underwhelming and really doesn't have a lot of bacon. It was unneeded, as the bacon jam was unbelievably hearty and literally with tons of chopped bacon. They are extremely generous with the bacon jam too. I didn't need the extra bacon. The burger itself is a blend of 4 different steak meats and is one of the better burgers I've had. It was served with my favorite...hand cut fries. Hubby had fish and chips, which had a wonderful crunch. He loved it. Prices are more than fair. Nice pours on the beer and bourbon. Is this a drive from our house. It sure is. Will we be back to try their dinners? Without a doubt. And be sure to ask for Kayla...she's an absolute gem. She even ran out to the parking lot to give us back our debit card that hubby left behind. 10/10 great meal and will return. read more

My goodness that meal was good! My wife and I headed to Bully's for dinner and we are thrilled with everything. The service was great; we were greeted and seated within 30 seconds of entering. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We started with the crab dip. It was a sizable crock and tasted great. Then came the burgers. It is a half pound steak blend burger. It was incredible (came with hand cut fries)! I loved my mushroom burger, but the bacon jam burger my wife got was amazing. Their house made bacon jam was delicious. Bully's is a hidden gem that gets overlooked when considering one of the best restaurants in the general Lancaster area. Every time I have chosen to go there the food and the service has been exceptional. One thing we like about the menu is that it is not so overly extensive. Smaller menus in our opinion suggests being able to master a limited number of items. And they have a decent selection of beers. (Did I mention the beer)? The Inn is also a Bed and Breakfast and make sure you check out the bakery located across the street from the restaurant. You can't go wrong at Bully's. I would consider Bully's in my top 5 in this area. read more

Little did we know walking into a nice Pub we would have the best meal I've had in years. The Duck Confit was amazing and duck is my favorite protein. We had our food carry out. I had the fish and chips which were delicious. The chips were baked potato wedges which were then deep fried to a golden deliciousness. The fish were crispy on the outside, but died out on the inside. My wife had the tenderloin tips on toast. They fork tender and the gray was very tasty. We started with the crab dip which was just ok. But remember it was carry out, so I'm giving them a pass on the dip. The crab dip was tiny for the price and had about 3 specks of crab meat in it, the crab cake was claw meat or maybe even some type of minced fish. From the outside, this looks like any other average bar and when you walk inside, it's no different. I don't drink, so I can't comment on the large selection of beers, but I do eat and I never expected the food to be this good at a place like this! We got there 10 minutes to 4:00, so technically they were still serving from their lunch menu, but when we asked for the dinner menu, they were happy to oblige. The service overall was great and our waitress was very accommodating with our two children (ages 2 and 6), even asking us if we wanted to place their order right away while we looked over our menu. They do have a kids menu with the traditional items like chicken nuggets, mini burgers, grilled chicken, grilled cheese, etc. They even have some coloring pages to keep the kids entertained. After the complimentary fresh warm rolls, our meals came out. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the Pancetta Stuffed Chicken. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious! Portion sizes were just right--I didn't walk out of there hungry or feeling overly stuffed. They had a small desert selection, but we went for the warm chocolate brownie with 2 scoops of ice cream. The average entree price is $25+ dollars, so it is a bit on the expensive side for a bar/pub, but the food was just terrific. The only downside I saw was that it was a bit dark back where the restrooms are and in the mens room, there were pictures of woman dressed a bit provocatively and one image was of a nude woman exposing her breasts. I'm sure most men wouldn't care, but not the most appropriate images for my children. While I understand that they may not get a lot of kids in there, there were a few other families with younger children there while we were there. In the end, we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely go back the next time we are in the area. read more

A few friends and I actually did not stay for dinner (only grabbed a drink) because of the cost. If you're around the area and can't travel far, by all means stop in and enjoy yourself. When first looking over the menu, I will say, the prices are a little bit higher than I normally like, but I went with it and ordered what I really wanted Spicy Seafood Mac & Cheese - The full order was $24 The Mac & Cheese itself was just creamy, had just the right amount of cheese, and tasted delicious. Then you had the multiple large shrimp placed in, which was a great topper (I am used to chicken). Since this had pepperjack cheese in it, it was a little spicy for me, but nothing I could not handle. While I am surprised to be saying this, it was well worth the price, and I had plenty left over My boyfriend went along also, and he ended up getting the Tenderloin Tips & Toast, which were $19. I did try these and they were VERY tender, no left over chewy meat in my mouth, huge plus! I am not sure I was a fan of the stout beer sauce though, it was not horrible, just not my thing. I cannot forget the appetizer....Pub Fries! They were handmade fries, which seems to be SO rare these days. They were also topped with applewood smoked bacon, jack cheddar cheese and scallions. The fries were a little salty, but overall, very good taste, and a lot of cheese! The portion size of these fries was pretty large, we ended up taking some of these home also read more
