First time dining there this morning. We brought our 16 month old who loves to wave. Martin (I think that was his name), our server, was great with our son and waved every time he passed. Food was really good, and service was great. Martin was very attentive; he always made sure our coffees and waters were full! We'll definitely be back!! You have to be careful which dish you pick, since some are pretty bad. Not worth it. The overpriced, whats so suppose to be a ribeye steak is hard and awful. Didnt know you can make them that bad. Waitresses are rude, they dont care just want to rip you off. read more

The food and service are really good here, but watch the fumble-fingered cashier when you pay at the register. Our bill was $102, but he charged our card $120. Luckily, my husband caught it before he walked away and told the cashier it was wrong. The guy said, "No, it isn't." I hate it when people just argue with you. So my husband showed him the error, and it was plain on the man's face that it was just a mistake. When I got home, I checked our credit card, and the $120 error had been credited off. So no harm done, which is why I'm still giving the restaurant 4 stars. read more

Food is fresh hot and delicious - just the way a proper diner should be. I don't understand how diners are being replaced by other type of restaurants. Diners are the great American restaurant in my opinion. When you can, say NO to corporate fake food chains and say YES to local family owned diners. Support local diners. I had french fries and a side of chicken gravy for my own little disco fries, if you know what disco fries then you know, and a French Onion soap. The French onion soup is life. I stopped in for breakfast on a Wednesday morning with my mom. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. Our waitress wasn't exactly warm but she was efficient and reasonably attentive. I opted for the hungry man breakfast which consisted of eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage and toast. Overall, the food was pretty good. The portion size was plentiful and filling. There was so much food that I couldn't even eat it all. My mom ordered the cinnamon raisin french toast with sausage links. She enjoyed her food as well. Actually, she said Riverview Diner was her favorite breakfast spot in the area. The bill was $30 for the two of us which is a bit steep but it was delicious so I suppose it was worth it. read more

I came here with my husband because I wanted to get a nice breakfast place that I hadn't gone to before and bonus is that it was on the river. It wasn't super busy and we were greeted promptly by the hostess. Inside, it feels like an old school diner with older decor. Nothing seemed run down, but a little outdated maybe. They have pies and other sweet treats displayed at the front counter. Since their menu is pretty big, you have a ton of options to choose from. My husband got a traditional omelet. The eggs were light and fluffy. It was pretty big. However, he really enjoyed it and ate the entire thing. He got some pancakes with it as well which were a decent sized portion for a side. I got the Swedish connection. This is two eggs, two crepes, and one sausage or 2 bacon. You are able to mix and match the flavors of crepes. I got the strawberry and banana. I really enjoyed both, but liked the banana the most since the strawberry had that super sweet syrup with it. The crepes themselves were light though. You really get a bang for your buck here. Nothing seemed too overpriced (at least compared to now), but you still get good portions. I can't wait to come back. read more

If it was possible to leave a negative review, I would! My family has have many good meal at Riverview Diner in the past. Over the weekend we decides to go for breakfast. 10 minute wait on a Sunday morning. Not bad at all. Service and the food quality were the issues here. Once seated we waited at least 10 minutes for our waiter to arrive and great us. After taking our order, drinks and soups were brought out quickly. Then the problems began. Twenty minutes later (wife always sets a timer on her phone) the waiter arrived back at our table with more soups. Bad sign, as he had already given us our soups. Clearly things were getting worse. He arrived back at our table 2 minutes later with our food. Eggs cold, hash browns cold, pork chop was smaller than a deck of cards and covered in some super salty dark colored liquid that was not listed on the menu or requested. The pork chop was so dry and over cooked I could hardly cut it with the provided steak knife. Wife screams and spits out her club sandwich in her napkin...Bugs, dead and alive flying out of her sandwich. We got up and left. No apologies or explanation from the manager or the server. Even if they had made an effort to take accountability of the situation, I would not have stayed. Total garbage! Please don't risk your health or waste your hard earned money at this place. Not worth the time or money. Took the grands there for a late lunch during the week. Not enough place settings, tiny water glasses...left to run empty, stale rolls, half of our food was served cold and/or overcooked. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience that's worth the $$$...this is not it. Yuck is all I can say. read more

This place is very hit or miss. Sometimes it's awesome food and service, and sometimes it's good food and ok service. It's not very expensive so I guess you get what you pay for.
