And when it comes to avocado toast, there is so much opportunity for good citrus flavor, salt, herbs, etc.. Herb and cheese frittata, thick cut bacon, thick sausage patties, cheesy hash browns, banana bread French toast, biscuits, sausage gravy, Caprese salad, cinnamon rolls, raspberry brownies, fruit salad, almond poppyseed scones, chocolate chip cookies... Everything I tried was excellent. The bacon and sausage were so full of flavor and as I mentioned they were thick, nothing wimpy about this breakfast meat. The French toast really had that nice banana and cinnamon flavor going. Cheeses added richness to the shredded hash brown potatoes. That cinnamon roll was so flaky. I even took some the buttercream frosting on top and spooned it on the French toast bake and that only made it even more amazing. I almost felt sorry for the fruit salad of blueberries, red grapes, and honeydew! 23 dollars was a pretty solid deal, especially since it was unlimited portions. I've had a few brunch buffets, but this absolutely ranks in the top 2 or 3 I have ever had.

We noticed there was an empty area on the other side of the bar, so after waiting until the waitress was finished talking with other customers, my husband politely asked if we could move over there because it was quieter and would make it easier for me to hear. She completely ignored him. He asked again. She looked directly at him and said, "I don't have time for this," and walked away. At that point, we simply got up and left. I own a local business in Yorkville, right down the street from Burnt Barrel, and I would never allow one of my employees to treat a customer this way. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--we were simply trying to find a quieter place to sit because I was having difficulty hearing. People have bad days, and I understand that. But there is never a reason to dismiss and speak to customers that way, especially when they are being polite. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. It's a shame because we genuinely liked this place and had always enjoyed coming
