I can't rave about this place enough. They've always managed to do a great job for me. I'm a regular customer, but this week had an emergency. My husband had his brand suit pants tailored and rush delivered (by Men's Warehouse not here) and the tailor left chalk all over the pants. We rush ordered these because we needed them the next day. Now we're not talking your usual rub-off tailors chalk....this stuff was seriously stuck on there. Riverwalk helped us out of a bind and rush cleaned these and somehow all my regular stuff as well. Dropped off several pairs of pants and when I got them back, all were skin tight. They shrank them so much I couldn't even pull my legs through the pants. Worked with their insurance company through a lengthy process. In the end, the insurance company was paying a large portion of the reimbursement, and Riverwalk was to cover a small amount as part of their deductible. The insurance company paid. Riverwalk did not. I reported this experience on Yelp about a year ago. Then about six weeks ago I got a call from Riverwalk asking me to take down my review. I explained that I had not received good customer service and why I felt this was left unresolved. They claimed that someone had come and picked up my check (the last call I remember was that they told me they would not pay and I was greedy). We left it that they would investigate and call me back. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I took down the review to give them a chance to look into this. Even if they had called back and said there was nothing more they could do, I would be satisfied enough. I think six weeks is sufficient to expect a reply or at least an update. They told me this was the first time they've had an incident like this, but even if true, the customer service and dependable follow-up were lacking. read more

I've been coming to Riverwalk since I moved to West New York nearly a year ago and I've received nothing but friendly, fast and professional service! I come here at least once a week and have gotten clothes altered, dry-cleaned and laundered. They always remember my name and are so sweet to me! I pick up and drop off all my clothes so have no idea what their delivery services are like, but I an 100% satisfied with their service so far and always recommend Riverwalk to friends in the area. I just happened to check out their Yelp page to find their closing time and was shocked at the number of negative reviews. Be weary of the reviewers who only have 1 or 2 reviews... these people are just taking our their frustrations in the only way they know how, but I don't think they realize how Yelp impacts a local family business. Like the guy who left a 1 Star review after saying you frequented this business for over 2 years..? Seriously? I'm sure you would've gone somewhere else long before if it was worth a 1-star review smh. I've yet to receive bad service at Riverwalk, and they take out all the guac and oil stains I bring to them and have never left a new stain so I'm not sure where all these random "stain" related reviews are coming from. read more

I've been going here 3 years, and my mom has been a loyal customers to the owners (who also have a shop in Ramsey) for over two decades. Grace is awesome!! Always professionally done dry cleaning - they fix hems, do my tailoring (for my slimming shirts, and such), and un-ball my sweaters. Miracle spot removing (they've gotten blood out of a white dress, and I wear it regularly.) My clothes are very happy, and I look good. Thanks Grace! read more

If I could give a negative star I would! Recently moved into the neighborhood and since it is about a 3 minute walk from our place, why not check them out. Mistake #1!!! We dropped off 2 pieces of laundry for delivery. Mistake #2! My wife was notified by the front desk that she had a piece of laundry which was delivered, however it was delivered with another person's cleaning and this person was kind enough to drop it back to the front desk. Mistake #3! Of course there was no sign of the other garment which was to be delivered. After a lot of back & forth with the cleaners and the building's concierge, still no sign of the lost garment. The cleaner suggested we come to the shop and watch the video tape of both garments being readied for delivery. On tape we saw both garments being placed in the back of the shop for delivery, but that was it. We all agree the clothes were "cleaned", placed on hangers and put aside for delivery. However I still have no shirt! The cleaner was very adamant that the building lost it & visa versa. The cleaner would not take responsibility, would not contact any of their customers asking if they received a shirt by mistake, etc..."not out fault" over & over. Working with our concierge we contacted some people...Of course still NO SHIRT!!! Moral of the story...never use Riverwalk Cleaners and GO PICK UP YOUR OWN LAUNDRY and leave delivery to the pizza guys! read more

Terrible quality and service. Do not give them your business. We used these cleaners for about a year out of convenience, but have become fed up with the service and the sneaky tricks they try to play. For example: - We had a dress shirt that had a spot, so we specifically asked them to pay attention to the spot. They did not. When we returned the shirt and asked that they retry the spot, they washed and pressed the shirt again (mind you, it had not been worn yet, so that was not necessary) and charged us for cleaning again. My parents own a dry cleaners, so I KNOW what processes are involved - they should not have done this, but we let this slide. - Buttons on dress shirts would come back cracked from the pressure of the press machines. When we asked them to replace the broken buttons, they charged for the new buttons. - Shirts would come back with creases and when we asked for a re-do, they would try to charge again. The nail in the coffin was when, out of the blue, they DRY CLEANED a dress shirt that we had been sending to them for over a year and charged us more than $5 for the shirt. When we called and asked why they did this, they said, "We felt that dry cleaning was better for the shirt." Well, if that were really the case, why didn't they 1) dry clean the shirt before during the year we had been sending them that particular shirt; and 2) call us to confirm/check that it was ok to make this switch? Even if convenient for you, go elsewhere. These people don't deserve your business. read more

Very, very slow return on clothes. If you can wait a week for a simple cleaning (shirt, slacks) then they are just okay but if you want your items in a timely manner such as 3-4 days well forget it. I've been using them for almost 2 years and I have had enough calling them all the time and checking on delivery. There are other places close by that are better. read more

Riverwalk Cleaners is PHENOMENAL. My wife and I have been going to Riverwalk Cleaners ever since they opened, and I have NEVER had even one problem. The staff is extremely friendly and they are so great and helpful that they have stayed late (numerous times), just to allow us to come in and pick things up that we "had to have" for the next day, when we get home later than expected from work. As far as my cleaning and tailoring, not one thing has ever been misplaced, messed up or cleaned in a way I didn't request, etc. and their tailors always do an expert level/professional job. I have had many shirts, pants and suits tailored there over the years and there wasn't been one thing that has not come out perfect. Also, when they say what day you can expect your things to be ready, you can count on their word being reliable. I can not say enough great things about Riverwalk cleaners and how incredibly nice their staff is there. They are by far the best cleaners you can find anywhere. We have told all our neighbors about them, and people literally thank us for introducing them to (as my next door neighbor said) the best dry cleaner they have "ever been to in their life"! read more

Not quite sure what all the fuss is about! I've been going to this location for about a year, at first due to its convenient location but I continued going due to the amiability of the owners and quality of the cleaning. Usually I just go for the regular dry cleaning services, and they are always more than willing to deliver right to my apartment. Can't say I've had any bad experiences to date, but they are usually reliable for regular and repeated cleaning services. Would recommend for the locals in the Edgewater area! read more

I recently purchased a dress for a wedding and needed to have it altered. I spent over $500 on the dress so I wanted to make sure that I went to a good seamstress. I am newer to the area so I tried the local dry cleaner/seamstress. I had heard that Riverwalk Cleaners was very expensive, but I equated this with better quality, sadly I was mistaken. The operation itself is very clean. They room to change in is clean and the actual store is nice. There are 3 people that interface with customers. The couple were very nice when I arrived, greeting me and inviting me to try my dress on in the changing room. I came out of the fitting room and the woman ushered me to the mirror and measured my dress on the BACK ONLY. She put chalk around the remainder of the dress to mark where she should hem it. I assumed she knew what she was doing. I come out from the changing area and the younger woman walks behind the register to give me my ticket. She winds up her pitch by saying "it's going to be a little more than normal because this is a very special dress." It was a but off-putting for her to prepare me for the worst but I just wanted to know the price and get my ticket. I also was warned that they were expensive. Now, the dress was pleated at the skirt but I do feel that they had arbitrarily chosen the prices they were going to charge due to the event I was attending and because the dress "looked" expensive. It frankly felt as if I was being taken advantage of. They charged by 25 dollars to take up the dress (from the top) and 70 dollars to hem it. total =$95. I was fine with this but did warn them that I felt it was very expensive and I was expecting the dress to be perfect (or at least satisfactory). It just felt slimy when transacting. I came back in a week to pick up my dress and tried it on when I got home. It was too long in the front. There was also chalk all over the bottom of the dress. I called and the man answered. They remembered me and just "just come back in and we'll fix it." No apology, no sense of concern. As a customer that just spent $95 on a dress hem that I felt was overpriced to begin with, it was concerning. I came back a few days later and the seamstress wasn't there yet. The man took my dress and threw (yes threw) my dress on a table and told me to come back in a few hours. I took the dress and told him I would come back when she was here. Again, NO APOLOGY. When I came back, the younger woman and the seamstress both were there. The younger woman did not acknowledge me at all. The man just pointed to the changing room. The seamstress look at my dress and was mumbling as she saw it was too long. She actually looked mad that I was back and was making motions to infer that it was OK. I pointed to the front that was too long so she pinned it again and I said I wanted it back by EOD. I picked it up later in the day, no apologies again. When I got home, I tried it on immediately and while the front was fixed, she left the sides which were unfortunately now not even. It is short in the front and back and TOO LONG on the sides. HORRIBLE experience, frankly the customer service and clearly the prices, are the largest contributing factors. I will not go back. Do yourself a favor and don't bother going here. It's a complete rip-off and the owners really don't care. They also threw out my Saks garment bag and put my dress in a clear bag that is as flimsy as a sandwich bag. read more

I don't have great ironing skills, that's why I go with dry cleaning services, but they seemed to be worse than what I can do by myself. Dry cleaning is always done with care, and they have been able to remove stains which others could not. Had an issue with some alterations, but tailor was let go as a result and cost of damaged items was reimbursed. Management listened and took to heart the steps needed to remedy. read more

Disgusting customer service!!!! They blame you for their mistake, and won't reimburse you for the "work" that they do! They ruined my daughters dress, proceeded to ask me why I would pay so much for a cheaply made dress, and then offered to pay for the dress but not give me the reimbursement for the horrible job they did! Instead she told me to buy another dress and they would fix it for free. RIDICULOUS OFFER, CONSIDERING THEY DO A HORRIBLE JOB AND TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS AS IF THE CUSTOMER DID THE BAD WORK AND THEY'RE TO BLAME!! Then she asked me what exactly it was that I wanted, because of course a total reimbursement for the dress and alteration was TOO MUCH to comprehend?!?!?! At the end of this horrible, situation she did give me the reimbursement for the dress and she gave me the dress back instead of the measly $22 for their "work" that I paid for.
