My family and I really enjoyed our visit here. My boys loved the fact we were on the river. The hostess and one of the servers were so friendly and helpful. Our server Diana was awesome! She was helpful and had great recommendations for us. I ordered the Maui Maui sandwiches she recommended. It was delicious! The fish was cooked and flavored perfectly. My husband loved his Texas hamburger. The fries were great, and for dessert we had the key lime pie. Everything was delicious. read more

Stopped by Sunday Sept. 23 for dinner, very quiet but a wonderful mean. View is outstanding, service was great and an overall great meal. Dad went with the bowl of soup special and it was HUGE, I went with their fish sandwhich which was very nice. Had the shirmp coctail which were very good. Visiting from out of town - stayed in the doubletree and the staff told us would be "the best place to eat in town". Im you're average southern gal and I can tell you that if this was "the best place to eat in town" then I'm sorry for your low expectations. The salads came out room temperature with the cheese on them. Salmon had no flavor - dry. Coconut shrimp - if you don't mind frozen coconut shrimp out of a bag then by all means order it. Just not what I expected. Potato skins not great. Childs hamburger was very good - my son loved it. Fish and chips were good. Just didn't seem clean - and the staff was ok. It would just be nice to have servers that didn't dress in their workout clothing and booty shorts. read more

It takes forever to get your food even when its slow. I ordered a wrap. There was hardly any meat in the wrap. My lettuce tasted dirty and was mushy. I paid $11 for food that was not edible. I highly recommend not wasting your time. The only thing going good for this place is being on the water. I must add, the server did her best to correct the issue but it was beyond her control. This is something that needs addressed by the kitchen/owner. The other couple we were with were not pleased with their food either. Very disappointed. read more

I have to say its a great view. You are right on the water. We have only had dinner here. But each time it was tasty. Usually no wait. And the staff are friendly. The live band is also a must stop in for. Unfortunately they just closed up for the winter. Oh well its worth the wait. read more

We ended up at the Riverwatch by accident. Originally drove the 40+ miles to eat at Whisky ' s which was closed on Labor day. I have to admit it may have been a blessing in disguise, as I really enjoyed the crab patty basket with fries instead of chips and the calming atmosphere of sitting outside watching the boats on the river. Good food at a good price. Second trip. Mahi dinner and salad are doth fantastic. Parking sucks but that's kinda expected on a riverboat.

Wonderful experience. Top notch perfectly mixed drinks served in proper glasses instead of plastic cups. Super nice staff and great view.

I'd give it a zero if I could. he nacos came with about 8 jalapeno slices and a jello shot size cup of salsa. I ordered the steak. For $20, I got a piece of tough, medium well (asked for medium rare) piece of meat that was like chewing leather and had no flavor. It was supposed to be sirloin, but I think it was round steak cut into the shape of a sirloin. I've had much better at Golden Corral. The only plus was the waitress was very friendly whenever she was around. It wasn't her fault. They had her tending bar in addition to waiting tables. One person had to finally go to the bar and remind her that we had ordered drinks. When the meal came and I still had no silverware. I had to borrow some from another person. If all you want to do is sit by the river, get some drinks. If you're hungry, the food is way overpriced for such poor quality. read more

Make sure and read the ending! I was in town staying at the Hilton Doubletree and the River Watch was just down the hill. Yelp reviews were average and it was within walking distance. The food was sub standard at best. We ordered wings for an appetizer and I had the mahi-mahi sandwich. Specifically asked the server if the wings were crispy and she said they were. However, when they were delivered they were very chewy and nothing like a crispy wing should be. Sent them back and when they were returned, they were burnt. I can imagine the kitchen saying "I'll give them crispy!" When the fish arrived, the center wasn't cooked thoroughly. However, didn't realize until half way through. Overall, food was filling but that's it. After multiple issues, I would have expected a management member to address us personally to help resolve our issues. I will say that the server was polite and apologetic for the shortcomings with our dinner. However, they were not very busy and it seemed like it took a while for her to get back around to us. She did put a 10% discount on the bill for the food. Now for the BEST part! After tipping the server better than 10% on my part of the bill (reference above issues) and leaving, I get an alert from my credit card company (two days later) about an EXTRA generous 82% tip I left. Needless to say, the server entered $25 vs $4...An honest mistake right??? Maybe it was, that's why there isn't any names mentioned. Overall, the restaurant was nice and its location on the river was relaxing. Seems like the management staff needs to look a little closer at the methods in which they are operating their business. Probably won't be in Lawrenceburg again. But, if I am I will not return to this establishment. read more

Love this place, it's a little bit more than many places in the area cost wise, but well worth it. They staff are always super friendly, this is a great place to go between lunch and dinner time as a hang out with friends and grab some brews, or go during dinner for a unique date, particularly when with someone from out of town who has never been to eat on the water. The burgers are great, as are the sweet potato fries, and giant pretzels. My only reason for not rating it 5 of 5 are the burgers are pre-made patties. read more

I really liked that this place was right on the water. I thought it would create a nice ambience in the evening. But I have to say, the food was not good, I've seen better service, and the restaurant itself is majorly outdated. I feel like that with this place right below the new Hilton, they are missing a major opportunity to attract some tourism. I love eating at local places, but if I'm staying at a Hilton, I really want to eat somewhere nice. My room also directly faced this restaurant and even from above, I have to politely say it's ugly. I realize it's a barge, but it's very rusted. There is a tropical theme on it, which I don't understand b/c it's on the Ohio River, not an ocean, but beyond that it could just really do with some updated décor. I had fried shrimp and French fries b/c everything on the menu was pretty much fried. I was sad about the selection of beers on tap. Being that there are several breweries in Southern, IN I would hope they would utilize that and offer some of those places on tap much like most places in Indy do. But they only had bud light and domestic beers like that. I got a glass of wine, Riesling. Of course it was pretty per glass, but I was out for the night, so why not. Probably the worst glass of Riesling I've had. My stomach was upset all night from my greasy dinner. Additionally, I realize the Ohio River isn't the prettiest and often carries debris, but I feel like the restaurant should try to clear it off as best as possible. There was a ton of trash and debris piled up in front of the building where the dock is. A simple knock with a stick would have taken care of this. I also saw a couple of different servers dump drinks and other things into the River. Which pretty much annoyed me. It's not a trash dump. read more

Our experience was horrible! To start with - waited a long time for our drinks to arrive for 5 of us. Beer was barely cold and never brought water we asked for. Ordered tequila shots and dinner. Had to ask waitress twice what about shots,she forgot to place order with bartender. Shots arrived half way through dinner with brown skinned limes (yuck) not lemon slices! Dinner was sub-par. Crab cakes were terrible and burgers overdone. Waitstaff were very slow and forgetful. All this and only 4 other tables with guests and 3 people sitting at the bar. What a joke! We visited Riverwatch really hoping for a great experience. I felt the food was a little pricey and not particularly good, more average.

Just an FYI, this place is seasonal. We went there in early March because of the reviews here. Not open that time of year.

A group of us had dinner at the River Watch a few weeks ago. The staff was attentive and fun, the wine glasses were generously filled, the spicy Bloody Mary's were wonderful, the food was very good. Wish I could give it a 4.5, only knocking off .5 for the cig smoke I smelled when exploring the outside areas. read more

Our favorite place to eat and watch the Ohio River. Full menu with lots of choices. Service can be lacking during heavy business hours.

Our first time there and we're fans! It's tricky finding the place since our GPS was lost (below Lawrenceburg Event Center) but once that was figured out, it's easy to find. We had a lovely evening to sit outside without bugs, so must have been the time of the year. Waitress, Whitney, was terrific, as well as the manager Ashley. It was a slow night so we didn't encounter any service issues, but as large as this place is, I could see how that might be an issue if under staffed that day. Food was vey enjoyable; I adored the fried jalapeno nacho appetizer. Beer cheese servings were generous, which is nice. Sirloin dinner cooked to perfection as well as the salmon. Drinks were priced at $5.75 so that's certainly reasonable. Only downside is the walk is sloped so anyone with mobility issues will have trouble. Parking is above the facility so that can be tricky for those folks with issues. If you're in a wheelchair, make sure you have a strong-legged companion to get you back to the top! This will be the first winter the owner is keeping it open, which may or may not be successful, since dining riverside on a cold blustery day isn't so fun, but hopefully measures to protect patrons from bone chilling cold will be triumphant and you won't have to look at the calendar if you decide you want to go. read more
