I stopped in for a quick buzz cut and beard lineup--simple enough, or so I thought. The barber was new, and while I always like to support someone who's learning the ropes, the experience definitely reflected that he's still getting the hang of things. The cut was... okay. Not quite even in spots, and the beard line-up was a bit off. Nothing disastrous, but I did have to clean it up at home afterward. I also felt the price was a bit steep for the level of service ($65 without tip), especially considering the simplicity of what I asked for. That said, he was polite, clearly trying hard, and took his time. The staff around him were supportive, and the shop itself had a chill vibe, which made the experience more bearable. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I appreciate the hustle. Hopefully, with more time and experience, he'll build up the confidence and skill to match the effort he's clearly putting in. read more

I've come in a couple of times now and Rob has consistently been kind, friendly, attentive, and has given me some really clean cuts. He's careful to check in throughout the cut to make sure you are getting what you want. I've gotten quite a few compliments since he's been cutting my hair. I recently got a haircut here, and have a few comments about it. I have an excellent stylist that I usually use, but she is inconvenient to get too, and I've been super busy as of late and not wanting to take the time to drive all the way to Encino to go see her, when I hardly have the time to go to the bathroom. I was going to a wedding and could NOT stand my hair any longer so I decided to try someone local. As I pass by Blade and Barber all the time, and they had good reviews up here, I decided to give it a try. Firstly, you're supposed to call for an appointment, and for my initial phone call, I got voice mail. Two days later no one had called me back, so I called again, and got a live person and an appointment. I like this place, it is definitely cool. I think they try to offer a very customer friendly environment for men, and it works. It was a pleasant experience. The bad news is that my cut was not the best I've had. It seems to me - and to my wife later on - that the guy did not quite know what to do with my thinning hair. I look MORE balding as a result of the cut where my previous stylist does a pretty good job of making things look pretty good. So I'm not happy with the cut overall, and at the end of the day, that does not work for me and I will not be going back. However if you are not a balding late middle aged guy, maybe they can do a better job on your mop. read more
