Riviera has the best selection of spirits in the neighborhood. My go to spot for craft whiskey and liqueur. Love visiting on Fridays and Saturdays when they have sampling to try product before I buy it. Great prices too! They always have Luxardo cherries, which are my favorite! I had to post my experience on the Riviera. On first night of vacation, I visited last and enjoyed browsing the great selection of wines, beers, spirits, and cigars. I picked up a few things paid and enjoyed the spoils that evening. In the morning I got a call from my cc company asking about a large charge. As it turned out an extra 1 was added on the amount that was entered in the terminal accidentally. I called Riviera expecting to jump through hoops to prove and resolve. When I called the gentleman on the phone asked if I was the guy from the prior night and that when they were reconciling charges that morning they caught the error. I went back later that day and was greeted by a couple of the manager/owners who were highly apologetic and gave us a few freebies. The also proceeded to ask if I was any of the people they were googling when trying to search and contact me to let me know. Mistakes happen and the way they handled the inconvenience couldn't have been better. If you are in SD and looking for a good selection and a great business to support, this is the place. read more

Wow! I must be wearing the wrong push-up bra cause I go in here all the time and never score anything FREE like Angie! It's also a little bit ironic that I review so many LIQUOR STORES, because I hardly drink-booze is too much a bloater for me to over-imbide! But this Liquor Store has been around here for ages. It has a loyal clientele of peeps who live in chi-chi Loma Rivieria condo's right beyond it's driveway. A steady parade drives up on football Sunday's and comes out tooting 12 packs of various beers. In fact-the best thing I can say about this place is it has such an excellent variety of both beer and liquor! It sells lots of those tiny bottles of booze that you find in the mini-frig's in hotel rooms-that's why Riviera is such a HIT with all the homeless that doze off in the bushes across the street. And there are lots of homeless that call this place heaven since individual cans of beer are sold-unlike the Long's Drugs and now CVS down the road! Plenty of snack foods, miscellaneous stuff like charcoal lighter and magazines also available. Open on just about all holidays & THEY CASH CHECKS! If they know you! I normally have a very difficult time selecting liquor and while I appreciated the wide selection this liquor store had, I had trouble deciding. I was looking up reviews and the calories of the different alcohol options and trying to figure out how much I should have for my night. The clerk, an older gentleman, came over and asked if I needed help and I explained that I was just picky and carefully trying to plan how much I should have for tonight. I continued and about 10 minutes later after I was trying to pick my last option the clerk came over and loudly accused me of suspicious activity and said I was "scanning barcodes for his competition." I tried to show him my phone to show that I was actually looking up nutritional facts and other reviews but he refused to listen and kept telling me that I couldn't look up the alcohol because of his competition and that I had been there for too long. It was handled very poorly and the entire interaction was completely unnecessary. Needless to say I did not appreciate the accusation and will not be returning. read more

These guys are crooks! I just went in there about 30 mins ago to buy lottery tickets because I'd rather buy them from a locally owned business than a corporate type one at the 7-11 right across the street. I bought $13 worth of tickets and got back $79 from my $100 bill. The guy did count it back in front of me but he kept switching money between registers, counting up and then counting down. When he was done counting he FOLDED all the bills and them handed them to me. It just didn't feel right at the time but I foolishly didn't make him recount it in front of me because I trusted them because I shop there often. Anyway, when I got back to the car, I counted it myself and it was $8 short. I went back in and pleaded my case but that was to no avail. They said that they counted it in front of me and it was my fault for leaving. I essentially got fooled by the oldest truck in the book ( the sleight of hand). I will never ever spend another dime here again and am about to blast them on FB as well! read more

Pretty decent for a liquor store. Sometimes liquor stores can be a real rip off. This one is not bad with the prices at all. Sometimes they even have some pretty good deals. Customer service above and beyond ! When I stopped to buy something, there was some problem with my debit card not working, so I used another one and got charged twice, once on each card. They had been having a problem with chip cards that you insert rather than swipe. When I came back to ask about it, and get a refund, I figured it would be tough making my case. Freaking out imagining some stern and unyielding response and having to make my case. Because who keeps their receipts from a liquor store? I file mine on the floor of my car, lost forever. It didn't matter though. Problem solved immediately. The man who was working was genuinely apologetic, explained their situation with chip cards ( fixed now) and refunded my overcharge on the spot, no questions asked ! Plus a nice hug and a smile and more apologies. This wonderful care of their customers is just as wonderful as their diverse selection of spirits, their well-kept store and a convenient location. Pretty rare for someone to make it so simple and helpful. I will always go back. read more

Living down the street from this place always makes life interesting. They actually have a pretty good liquor selection...little on the pricey side for me since CVS next door is usually having sales on all alcohol...but they are easy in-n-out. The best thing about this place is that you can go in and grab a water, candy bar, coke, and bag of chips 10 days in a row...and pay 10 different prices...all rounded to the nearest quarter...and usually not rung up.
