I sent a text of my ID, my card, offered to do a video chat and still no. Our event is in four hours. Flew in late Thursday night and stayed in a hotel around the corner. Was going to go to a bar but realized I just wanted to watch TV in bed with a beer. Tried Target and Vons but the selection just didn't give me anything to get excited about, especially considering I didn't want a 6-pack. The Keg Guys aka Fuller Liquor to the rescue! It was minutes until they closed but the doors were still wide open, and I was treated to a pretty decent selection. In the end, I decided to splurge and get a bottle of Pliny The Elder since I've been meaning to try it and any bar I'd get it at would be more expensive than the $7 bottle price here. There were $3 bottles that I would have been happy with but hey, I'm on vacation. Even got the guy behind the counter's opinion about whether I should get it or not and he gave me an honest opinion. I don't know about the kegs service here. I've dropped in to pick up coffee or a snack on the way to work once a week or so over the past year. Last week, I realized after leaving that the cream had curdled in my coffee but figured it was a fluke. This morning, I dropped in for a cup of coffee and saw that the creamer, again, was curdled. It's not a big deal, but I tried to be helpful by showing it to the man at register since the creamers probably just needed to be circulated out. He got agitated told me that's how the creamer is meant to be (it's half and half from a common company.) He shouted that he didn't want to see my face there again, then followed me into the parking lot to shout it again. read more

I went to request my deposit back and was told I could only get $25 back as that was the typical deposit they request. If you want absolutely terrible customer service be sure to do business with the "The Keg Guys". I tried to order a Keg for a party next week and the trouble with these guys started from the very first phone call. If you call in to these guys I hope you're prepared to have them speak to customers in the store while you're trying to give them your business over the phone. Back to back days I spoke with them and they continually interrupted our conversation to handle customers at the counter. Next, when I went to place my order with them they tried to rip me off for an extra $15. Yesterday, when I got the price for a keg of Coors Light it was $135.99, however, when I went to place my order today they changed it to $149.99 without mentioning it. When I inquired on the price and was told $149.99 I politely let them know the person I was speaking with yesterday told me $135.99. The individual proceeds to call me a liar and tell me nobody ever told me that. At this point I pulled up their website and confirm myself they are listing a price of $135.99 for a Keg of Coors Light and when I mentioned this to the guy on the phone he proceeds to raise his voice and yell at me and tell me "website prices are wrong and we don't make money off kegs at those prices". He then tells me I can go get the Keg somewhere else if I prefer. At that point I told him that was exactly what I would be doing and ended the call. Looking at previous reviews I would only recommend this place if you want curdled creamer in your coffee or a different beer in your Keg than the one you ordered. They appear to specialize in both of those things. read more

We hired the Keg Guys for our wedding at Marina Village on June 23rd. Their prices were great, and their customer service was top notch. I worked with Jay and he answered all of my questions and more. It meant a lot since we were planning our reception from San Antonio, Texas so we needed extra patience with out communication. The beer was nice and cold and we also got a great price on red wine. The only hitch came when the delivery person forgot to drop off extra ice, but all it took was a quick phone call and someone from the business quickly drove back to our reception to drop off two bags of ice. They have a pretty decent beer selection but much of it is old - on a recent visit I saw several IPAs from 2019. Many beers have no marked price, which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't learn at the register that they were overpriced. Speaking of the register, they'll tack on a credit card surcharge without letting you know in advance (maybe there's a sign somewhere?), and on at least one occasion charged me twice, which I only learned when reviewing my credit card statement. read more

That being said, I still do not like the vagrant's hitting me up for cash as I come and go. Rude staff. Watch out for the charges they don't tell you about and ask in advance about delivery pricing. Ask a lot of questions. Ordered a keg for my birthday party. The credit card was charged for the deposit and the keg plus CO2 pump pacakge and delivery of $55 that they haven't told me about on the phone. When I asked about the charges, the guy didn't itemize the receipt and angrily grabbed a brown bag and started asking what I ordered. When I returned the equipment, the refund for the equipment was not put back on my card because their machine was offline which I only noticed on the receipt the next day. The place smells like crap and the attitude is awful. Will never go back there or order anything from there ever again. What a waste! read more

Called keg guys in a pinch needing a Euro tap and jockey box for an event where I work. No issues, they just arranged for everything to be ready for pick up on Saturday morning. I didn't do much shopping while I was there but they seem to have a good selection for a liquor store. They have a lot of options when it comes to kegs. The store is clean inside and the staff are helpful and efficient. I was in and out without any problems. Guess what, they can't really do anything about the homeless people lurking around outside. The Keg Guys provided the beer for my wedding, and my wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. They had a great selection of kegs available at a very good price (we went with Cali Creamin', Fortunate Islands, and Sharkbite Red), and we opted to rent a jockey box as well. I have at least 1-2 events a year and have the Keg Guys at Fuller Liqour provide my kegs and jockey boxes. Draft beer just like a bar. I get the double box and 2-5 gallon kegs so there is some variety. My guests love it! I spring extra for the delivery and have them come out and set up everything. They bring it all. Great Store, Absolutely Great Service. We just moved and our new home came with a kegger-ator (sp??) which was a instance hit with my husband. He asked me where he could get a keg and I suggested Fuller Liquor. He phone in a order and spoke with Jay who was very helpful and accommodating. A few days later he went and picked it up and it was a very easy transaction. The next keg my husband order was Belching Beaver which they didn't have in stock but happily ordered it for him. When it arrived I was already in Point Loma so I said I'd pick it up (a little nervous that it would be heavy) - but after I finished paying for it, Jay walked around from the counter (without hesitation) grabbed the keg and the C02 tank and loaded it in my car for me. Point Loma in general is a little sketchy, but this liqour store is right next to the Trolley Station in Old Town, and we felt very uncomfortable both picking up and dropping off our keg.
