The lady was very nice, the place was very clean. I was just a walk-in as I was exploring the neighborhood. But I will say my eyebrows did not turn out how I expected or anywhere near. They were much thinner than I normally have them and what I asked for. read more

This is close to my gym so I stopped in on my way home and was thoroughly impressed with how my eyebrows came out. I have very thick eyebrows and it's always so hard to find someone who knows how to do them right. I will definitely be coming back here again! read more

I've had a good experience here once in the past with one woman who threaded my upper lip, but today I came in and i think the woman working there must be newer(?). There was another woman who came before me and left rlly upset because her eyebrows weren't done well and she said that she's been coming to another woman here for a long time so she was expecting the same service. i didn't think much of it as sometimes customers can be a little neurotic as we all know, but I'm sad to say I was rlly disappointed by the way she did my threading. i got my upper lip, lower lip, chin, and sideburns done. everything was fine except for the sideburns. i wanted a more natural look but she took so much random hair off and it blends so horribly with my cheeks. i don't like to thread the hair off my cheeks because it makes my acne worse and i've had plenty of people in the past who were able to do my sideburns but still made it blend naturally. this girl must be new or inexperienced because she wasn't able to do that and it didn't rlly seem like she knew what she was doing ?? It was so disappointing and it rly makes me not want to come back here even though there are so many good reviews and i live so close. maybe they're just not good for threading. either way I was upset to pay over $30 for a service i was unhappy with. i don't complain about things like this and i still gave her a tip for her time but i wouldn't recommend coming in here for threading unfortunately, and I don't think i'll be coming back even though i live so close :/ read more

I have never in my life had my eyebrows or lashes done and saw a sign outside for a lash lift before a trip two weeks ago. I called while I was shopping at down the street and they got me in right away. I told her I wanted a lash lift and she asked if I wanted brows done as well and I decided to try it out. I was THOROUGHLY impressed. I had a lash lift and tint and she threaded my brows and tinted them as well. It faded a bit after washing my face the next day and looks so natural. I had a week long vacation where I was in water everyday and I'm still getting comments about my lashes. Cannot recommend this place enough! I had my eyes closed for the entire process but at least four people came in during my ~30 min session to get eyebrow threading and sounded like repeat customers. Will be coming back! And very reasonable prices. read more

I had a fine experience the first time I came here but stopped in recently for my eyebrows and an absolutely terrible job was done. Initially, she left many small hairs (beneath my eyebrow). I asked her to remove them and she ended up going too far into my left eyebrow. The end result was a very arched, uneven left brow. A second woman came to consult and stated it's best to get tinting--no thanks, I naturally have thick eyebrows. She laughed, stating if I want thick brows, I'll need to do tinting....completely disregarding the brow was not thick because of her mistake...She then recommended I come in two weeks so they can grow back out. I understand mistakes can happen, but she should have offered this service at no charge since the completely ruined the one brow. I ended up having to wait 4 months for them to grow back to normal. Do not recommend--go else where. read more

I don't like writing reviews like this but I won't be coming back here. She made my eyebrows very uneven. Like one side is thicker n the other side is shorter. They look lopsided. Also she took out some hair in the front of my eyebrow to make it worse. I've been growing my eyebrows since I was in 6th grade and she's made this process of growing them out even longer. read more

Julie has a heart of gold!!! I've been coming to her for my eyebrows for a year now and she never lets me down, and I don't trust many. Came to her a couple days ago for my first Brazilian experience and I was terrified the entire time. Sweet, sweet Julie was so patient with me from literally 3pm-7:30pm (YES that's how long it lasted because I was in so much pain bc it being my first time). She was just so considerate and patient with me and I really thank her for that. Best in town!!!!! So worth it and awesome prices read more

If you are a guy avoid coming here. They don't know how to do mens brows. Specifically told them I wanted just the middle unibrow area but they proceed to start threading my whole bottom brow resulting in a more feminine look. read more

This is a good place but one of the girls (there's two and I think this was a younger one) is extremely rough when she did my eyebrows this past Friday evening. I was pretty much wincing in pain and now I see I have painful cuts and redness all around that eyebrow. She did good shaping of my eyebrows but really needs to take it down a few notches on the aggressiveness. I'm worried about going back in case I get her again. read more

Absolutely wonderful. Julie is always welcoming and her salon is very clean. She just opened this salon on Lincoln Park, so it's fairly new. I usually call before I come in, but the last two times I've just been walking by on my way home and she puts me right in. It's $10 for eyebrows and upperlip - super affordable. She gives a wonderful head massage with lotion at the end and it's so relaxing. I live 5 minutes away so this spot is definitely turning into a regular! read more

Posted opening time is 10 AM. I called twice and the woman told me that she would be there in "a few minutes" but after an hour, she still wasn't there. She arrived shortly after 11. She was upset about filing her taxes and distracted. She missed some pretty obvious hairs on my upper lip. She apologized once but it didn't seem like she was too concerned. She missed two other customers while I was waiting, which I did mention to her. Didn't seem to be bothered by this. I had been here before-twice and been impressed but this experience made it clear that it's time to find a new threading spot. Bummer. read more

She DOES NOT KNOW how to do eyelashes! I now have a half bloodshot eye because one of the eyelashes were stabbing into my eye! Went to sleep and woke up with eye pain to see that there was a blood bubble in the eye and the lash that was sticking into it! Had to use a tweezer to pull it out! All around VERY PAINFUL AND A WASTE A MONEY! I showed her her work and did not ask for a refund either! She needs to learn to do her job or take it off the list of services!!!! read more

Very nice, clean and professional. I really like how my eyebrows look, we did a wax and a little bit of threading. It actually hurt a lot less than other places I've been, and I have very sensitive skin and I had no redness or tingling sensation which I almost always have due to my skin type- which means she probably uses a great wax. This is my new eyebrow place! Very excited to find a new place I can trust and always go too!!! :) (I'm very particular with my eyebrows as well) read more

I've been here twice now and I'm never ever going back. The first time I came here, the eyebrow threading results were just okay. But I noticed my eyebrows started growing back immediately; it was as if the hairs weren't pulled at the root. And the woman who threaded my brows asked me three times if I wanted my upper lip threaded too. Up-selling is one thing, but this was bordering on rude. My saying "no" once should be enough. And it made me incredibly self-conscious the rest of the day! Overall, I thought it deserved another chance. Well, the woman lobbed off HALF OF MY EYEBROW when I came back just the other day. Again, she did a hard up-sell the entire time I was in the chair. And worse yet, she answered the phone mid-way through and continued threading my eyebrows with the phone wedged on her shoulder and talking and laughing away with a friend. When I checked my eyebrows as I walked out, I wanted to cry. My right eyebrow starts where my pupil begins. I wish I was kidding. If you want to keep two full eyebrows on your face, don't come here. read more

For years, I waxed my eyebrows....and then I discovered threading- this place has a great price and the owner has a delicate hand when it comes to the shaping and definition of my eyebrows. I have a very low tolerance for pain of any sort- and my face is no exception. Although waxing is faster, threading is more thorough and precise, and the owner works fast, but takes her time if she notices I am uncomfortable-she always makes sure I am okay and the lotion she uses afterwards not only soothes my skin, but smells great and I feel cleaner than when I walk in. I love the way I look and feel after leaving here and I rarely have a long wait if I'm a walk-in, which I often am because I live close by. The ambiance is calming- wonderful music and comfy sitting area. The bathroom is also very clean and tidy. I try to come in every two weeks, and she teases me when I've skipped a week- I feel she really cares about her clients and her business is obviously growing since she opened another shop! read more

Glad I found Riya! I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and my biggest fear has always been that they'd get too thin, because growing out eyebrow hair is just impossible and frustrating. Riya did a good job listening to exactly what I wanted done. She paused and recommended something slightly different and showed me how it was going to look like and I really appreciated that. She was efficient and effective. I've only been here once now. Consistency is key, so crossing my fingers that this good experience continues throughout the next visits!! read more

Do you know how long it takes for your eyebrows to grow back? Well I had taken all of the time to grow my eyebrows back after the last butcher job I got. I go to Riya because I have been there a couple of times and it seemed ok. After months of growing my eyebrows I go to Riya and THEY BUTCHERED MY EYEBROWS!!! I ASKED her to make my eyebrows thick and to leave shorter hairs for growth. She did not listen or follow instructions and now I have two different eyebrows that are thin and skinny which is what I hate! I will never return I thought it would be okay because there was no language barrier but obviously there is because they cannot follow simple instructions! I wish I could leave no stars as my rating just for the hatchet job I received! She wouldn't accept responsibility and no sorry was given! I hope they go out of business! read more

I have very thick eyebrows and couldn't find anyone to get them "just right" - so sparingly, I used to allow them to become out of control so that I could get them reshaped by someone new. This changed when I walked into Julie's store in 2015 - she took her time and turned these eyebrows into works of art. I've been going to this place since the day it has been open. This places is clean and cute, making it a relaxing environment. Julie puts special attention and care in everything she does. She'll always be there for your appointment, as long as you show up on time!!! Overall she's the best and this places has NEVER messed up my eyebrows ( I really care about my eyebrows guys). I've been coming to Riya's to get my eyebrows done for some time now. I'm thankful for her precision and I always get compliments on my eyebrows. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 because my first time I said I wanted full eyebrows, and she definitely left them full, but she made an arch that was a bit more significant than what I wanted. I still got compliments on my brows, but maybe didn't ask exactly right. That said she also didn't clarify my request further. read more

Where are all this amazing reviews coming from? When I walked in, it was empty and the owner lady comes out of the back frustrated and started to get obnoxious... Not interested in writing the details but owner lady is so rude and unprofessional. Go here if you want to be talked down, yelled at and be disrespected. One of those fake places that are selective and pretentious. To think if you're the owner you would treat the customer kindly. read more

I have been to SO MANY threading shops across three cities. This one is THE BEST! Julie(please correct my spelling) did a wonderful job. Wellll I can speak for their services which are one of the best!! Friday I got eyebrow threading as well as an upper lip threading. I AM IN LOVE!!! I received compliments all weekend. The interior of the salon is stunning way more than I expected. As far as the trash on the streets of Lincoln Park I haven't seen any come on give them a break it could have been a windy day where the flyers blew around. I doubt someone as nice as Julee would do such a thing. I have definitely found me a new "home" to get my eyebrows threaded. read more

Stopped in today for the first time and LOVED it!!!!! It's been awhile since I had gotten my face threaded and she keeps you occupied by keeping a conversation with you. Then after she's done, she gives your face a massage, felt AMAZING! It's an affordable price, walk ins welcome, and cozy lounge. Will defiantly be coming back and making this my go to spot read more

Happened to be visiting Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago when my daughter stated she has been looking for a place to get her eyebrows done, but no one seems to get it "right "in Long Island, NY. Personally I disagree, I love my eyebrow lady but that's a whole different yelp review. So after driving around looking for parking for like 25 min, we both noticed there were quite a few eyebrow threading locations in the area, so we decided to go to my reliable yelpers for the "go to spot" to see if Chicago could get it "right " We ended up at Riya's Threading Lounge which was like 5 min from the Zoo, and based on the wonderful pictures my fellow yelpers posted my daughter walked in excited rather than nervous about Riya's attempt to get the eyebrow arches even. We walked in no wait as we were the only ones there. ( Tuesday afternoon about 2pm) Riya's explained what she was going to do how she was going to reshape and wala! Great...now apparently the only place to get it "right" is in Chicago! It's been like 2 hours and all I've heard is "Mom, just look at them aren't they perfect!" It's going to be a long flight home :) Thanks guys! I read more

Was so disappointed when I got home and saw the damage (it was even uncomfortable to sleep on that side from how raw my skin was). Don't go here for threading, the lighting is bad (which I'm sure makes it hard for the people threading your eyebrows) and the chairs do not lean back (it was so uncomfortable and I've never had my eyebrows threaded at a place that doesn't have you lean back to give the threader a better look at your brows in the light without shadows).

I highly recommend finding a salon with better owner customer service, with all of the options out there, don't be swindled by Tracey and her long texts to your phone demanding she knows what she's talking about for a salon you're a regular at while trying to double your service needs. Horrible communication and customer service from the top down which is sad to see given the stylists there don't have anything to do with the way they are conducting their client communication and scheduling.

I was able to book an appointment day of through the website which was super convenient. After checking in, I waited for maybe a minute or two before being introduced to my stylist, Gaetano. Right away he sat me down and started inspecting my hair (it was clear I hadn't been in for a trim in quite some time...busted!). He asked me what I was looking for and made suggestions for a cut and style. During the wash, he used a shampoo and conditioner that was particular to my hair needs. The head and neck massage was much needed and so good! Gaetano took time and care cutting my hair, and it was clear it's something he's passionate about. After a blow out, he even curled and styled it for me! The haircut was amazing, but chatting with Gaetano was the cherry on top. He's originally from Rome, and moved here for a better life for his children and family. We discussed our love for Italy and the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. Throughout the haircut, he gave me tips and tricks that I can do to improve the quality of my hair. I normally book a haircut with whoever is available, but moving forward I'm definitely going to be seeing Gaetano! Grazie!

Be aware that this shop puts an illegal 3-month expiration date on gift cards. My friend bought me…read morea $30 gift card in October 2025 and the owner put an expiration date for Jan 2026. I thought she was just putting there as a courtesy and did not bother to ask thinking she would still honor it if just a few months late. Oh boy No. She declined the gift card when I went in Mar, only two months after the expiration date. My friend just basically gave her $30 and she took it without blinking. According to Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, Gift cards cannot expire for at least 5 years from purchase or last reload. Illinois even has stricter rule about it stating that retail gift cards generally cannot have an expiration date. If a card says it expires, that term is typically unenforceable in Illinois. I don't care how often you need to go threading your eyebrows, but 3-month expiration period for gift cards is illegal. I will be filing a complaint with Illinois Attorney General's Office Update: your terms and conditions on the gift card are ILLEGAL. I was not rude to your staff. You did not want to provide me the service so you asked your assistant to do my eyebrows to get me out of the door. I did not want to waste my friend's money so I accepted and tipped her well. The gift card is good for two services and you took it and said that's it. If I'd known this is illegal, I would have kept the gift card as evidence and refused your service.
