Found it through yelp and it was REALLY good eating. Shared a cold cut sub that was heated to melt the cheese and a meatball sub. Owners are super friendly and we just relaxed and enjoyed a great lunch. They also sell products with an italian slant. I absolutely LOVE RJ's Deli. I grew up in Leesburg, and have been coming here for most of my life. For me, RJ's is a summer staple. When I was growing up, my mom would take us here to get subs before we went fishing, or any other fun summer activity. When I walk into the deli, the wonderful smells instantly bring me back to when I was a little kid. The owners are so friendly, always chatting with a smile. I don't order anything particularly fancy, just an ol turkey provolone mayo lettuce peppers deal, but the taste is absolutely AMAZING. The pickles they serve with the sub are to die for! I loved the food that I got here! The sandwich I got had turkey and roast beef and all of the typical toppings. It was awesome! Everything tasted really fresh especially the bread. I also loved some of the treats and items that you can pick up here too. I got the Funky Fusion dirty chips which were super good (I should have bought a few more bags). RJ's has extremely tasty cold subs. Something plain like ham or turkey with lettuce and tomato and peppers is fantastic. However the service is slower than any other place in Leesburg. Make sure you get there 40 minutes before you want to eat!!! read more

You just can't beat a great Italian deli. These guys have it down right and have done it for years the right way. The ultimate Italian cold cut, and the crazy Italian cold cut. They are the staple subs at this place. Every time done the same way without any issues. Loaded with fresh deli meats, lettuce tomato onion banana peppers with the choice of hot or sweet peppers as well. Don't forget the mayonnaise and oil and vinegar. Not what the doctor ordered, but damn it is so good. Five stars for the fact that they never once have gotten my orders wrong, carry out or dine in. read more

This is a solid Italian style deli. I tried the spicy Italian, which has capicola, salami, and provolone. Olive oil and dried oregano were added. There was plenty of meat and cheese. The sub bread was good, but nothing great. Would have liked a crisper crust. They are set up like a small Italian corner store with some pastas, wine, and olive oils. Prices are reasonable. Could have used a little more AC inside on this hot day however. But I can certainly recommend this for take out of you are looking for a good sub. read more

Yeah, not really much to offer in addition to what most others have written. This place has really great quality subs and they will make them however you specify. I'm not a Northeasterner but I know how seriously the various regions take their specific style of sub. The owner, who is there most of the time, seems like he's pretty familiar with most "styles" and is willing to make your sammich however you want it. They have an interesting assortment of sodas and chips to choose from to accompany your sub. I like this place. It has fresh ingredients for sandwiches and a cool selection of items in the store (lots of Italian products). It's a bit pricey but the owner/manager (well I assume he was) was a good guy--he got kind of flustered with my order and then apologized, just explaining that he didn't want to overcharge me. We really enjoy RJ's! The owners are super friendly and always willing to accommodate requests. We love the Crazy Italian and Milan subs, which are large enough to share. Yes it's a hole-in-the-wall location and the exterior isn't super appealing in a run-down shopping center, but give this place a change. Plenty of parking, friendly service (albeit if you are in a hurry, you may want to call ahead just in case), and even a small deli, frozen Italian foods, and wine selection that you can purchase on your way out. Mediocre at best. I ordered the Big Deli and it tasted like they chopped up a whole onion and put it on there. The pickles were big spears instead of slices. So my whole sandwich pretty much tasted like an onion flavored pickle. They also use brown mustard instead of regular mustard without asking if I wanted it. BY FAR the best deli in the Leesburg area. If you haven't been there you need to. If you like Italian subs this is the place to go. There are like 7 different kinds. I also like the New Yorker sub. Its amazing. There is something about the sub rolls that is like no other deli. Its also a good place to get your meats and cheeses by the pound along with other italian groceries you won't find in most places. The owners are also super friendly people. We also used them to cater a party for my bro's graduation party a few years back and it was awesome. Toppings and sides and everything. What can I say about RJ's, this is one of the best Deli's in Northern Virginia! We are regulars, actually we come every Thursday because my kids love Deli night Thursdays! The food is awesome, The New Yorker one of my personal favorites, Crazy Italian, Reuben, Hot Pastrami & Cheese, everything is good, never had a bad deli sandwich yet. We've come to know the owners as super friendly and more than willing to please their customers. We've had delivery service with no issues, but most of the time we like to get take out.
