Was expecting to love this place based on my initial impression, but it faded quickly. While I didn't order anything (get this... I came for the AC/DC pinball machine. Shocker.), my friend did, and the servers are awkward and clueless and just all-around bad. Ten minutes after he got his beer, a woman came by to ask to see his I.D. Uh, little late there. They do have some great specials depending on the day you visit. Hopefully the food is better than the service -- I also like the ambiance. It has a dive kind of vibe, but... it's kind of nice? As for the pinball machine, why the hell do they even have it? Why would you buy an AC/DC pinball machine and then disable the sound on it? Would you buy a book with the pages ripped out? Come on. I mean if it were a pinball table that wasn't based off of a BAND I might understand it, but instead I had to listen to "American Top Crappy" playlist. Favorite "go-to" for pizza, wings, nachos and burgers - only place I know of where you can get excellent in all of these somewhat diverse items. This is so hard to rate. I absolutely love the Pizza and really think that there pizza is one of the best in Michigan. The problem is the wings. They are so small and cheap. Barely any meat on the wings at all. I love the flavors and the way they taste but unfortunately they won't upgrade the quality. I enjoy stopping in here for drinks with friends. They usually have deals going on and everything is affordable! It's a very casual and laid back environment which I like because it's easy to stop in anytime. This place does get pretty busy even during the week, but I have still never had a problem getting a table with a small group. The only down side I can mention is that I received poor service. We were hardly seen by our server and we had to be waving her down for something throughout the whole night. All in all, I enjoy this place and do recommend checking it out! read more

Since being back in Michigan from California there is a severe shortage of places that I would frequent on a regular basis but RJ's is one of them! Great place to catch a Wings game with beer specials daily and food specials as well. Monday night is 288 burger night. Imagine attempting at home to remake a Big Mac and stumbling on a far better burger concoction and there you have the 288. All that goodness with a side of chips and you guessed it, $2.88! My wife and I demolished 1 and 1/2 burgers each and that with a side of seasoned crinkle fries, a soda and a tall beer (Oberon) and walked out for $22.00. Everything hot and fresh or cold and refreshing just the way it should be! Looking forward to Tuesday's night special of a medium pizza with one topping for just $5! I know, I broke the first rule of fight club.....you never talk about fight club, but this place deserves a little recognition in a land of overpriced pretentious trendy wannabees. We spent less here than at the place around the corner. And had more fun! I had the deluxe burger with cheese and fries. It was good for bar food. Went there for a birthday party for two friends. I was the designated driver and one beer. It was crowded due to the Michigan State game, so we had two groups at two tables with others standing. A table opened up, and my brother (who had arrived 16 minutes before that and had consumed no beverages yet, as it was busy). I asked the waitress who was clearing the Tavel if I could sit there, she obliged. As we sat down the owner said he had patrons waiting to sit. I advised him that I'm a patron waiting to sit, and that there was no reserved seating signage. He stated that he has people ahead of me, I stated that I had 12 people there and we were waiting for for tables, and that since there was no signage we had been asking waitresses if we could sit. His response was, I'm kicking you out. I don't like your attitude. I apologized, and stated sir, I've not raised my voice or sworn, I'm completely sober. I have 12 people here for two birthdays. He aid he would call the police. My brother said uhhh ok, he said you're out too. I continued to state that I had not meant to offend him. He said he would calm the police, I advised him to proceed. Eventually we chased out for $22, worth of her and tipped the waitress $40 for her stress of working for he owner. Afterwards we stopped next door at keg beer and wine for beverages as we were going to enjoy our evening at home. The employee asked why we were all there and we advised her. She went on to tell us of all of the issues she has had with the owner, as well as what she's heard about him. He was irrational, his employees appeared to jot support his decision. We used to frequent the establishment, especially before we were of drinking age. Now that we are 20 years past drinking whee we can, we will drink where we want. Please understand something - do not come here expecting an elegant experience. This place is a dive - and it is exactly as it should be. I am certain its the only dive bar that can dare to compare for10s of miles to what I recall from my hometown of Flint. This place is not pretentious - meaning that when I found it I couldn't believe it had survived this long in the Rochester area.
