Was pleased with the…read moreexperience, which simply involved taking measurements and asking what changes I might want with the setup--much better than the high-pressure sales pitch from the bigger companies in the area. We pushed off the replacement thinking our unit would survive one more winter, but of course of furnace went out unexpectedly in the middle of the night during one of the coldest stints of the season. Called Residential Express the following morning, they pulled up my quote from 4 months prior, verified the price hadn't changed and were able to schedule me for a full HVAC replacement the next day. Freddie and Flavian arrived on time and were very professional moving through our house and working in our backyard and utility closet. They explained any changes they needed to make, went over the new setup and recommended service intervals, and hauled all of the old equipment away, leaving our house looking better than when they arrived. Very happy with our experience with Residential Express and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The system coil froze up, and the townhouse was hot at 81degrees. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I believe in local business around the Springfield, VA area. There is a ton of HVAC companies in my area, now it was a question of which one to use. I wanted a small family-owned business where, if necessary, I could pick up the phone and call the owner. We had a lot of questions, replace the motor, replace the furnace etc. I called Salvation Heating & Air Conditioning who were right down from my townhouse and spoke with Karla. They sent someone right away and yes; it was the blower motor. Ernesto the owner called me, and we went over all the options available. My Trane system is over 16 years old, so we went with replace the furnace with an American Standard. The team came in and worked in my garage got everything set up and then installed, PERFECT!! They even put the furnace on legs so they can make and install a dip pan with a water control switch. My wife is a hard sell and loves things looking great. The furnace looks like it was part of the original system. We are back online my townhouse is cooling again with our NEST thermostat. I couldn't be happier with Ernesto's Salvation HVAC team! But after what I experienced over a year ago, being taken advantage of by a very big company and being sold the wrong HVAC unit, I really couldn't trust any HVAC contractor. Karla at Salvation changed my whole outlook and gave me hope that I could get the correct HVAC unit, and get it installed correctly. BACKGROUND: A wrong HVAC unit was installed in my tiny condominium over a year ago. At the time I knew nothing about HVAC units. I purchased an HVAC wall unit from a big home services company I trusted and had them install it. Big Mistake. Everything was wrong with the entire process, including having my consumer rights violated. Important documents had not been discussed or given to me before the sell/installation. First attempt to install a HVAC unit failed. The installers disappeared for almost an hour and when I asked what was going on, all he said is "the sleeve didn't fit." But they didn't discuss or explain anything to me. I wanted to cancel my order because I had put 1/3 down for down payment. But they were determined to install anything, and said they could get a unit that fit. So I gave them another chance and a couple weeks later returned to install another HVAC unit. After installing the new HVAC unit, the circuit breaker tripped twice. The unit was overpowered and physically oversized for my tiny condominium. It was then I realized they were all about them and they didn't care about getting me the correct HVAC unit. Just sell me anything. Weeks after the installation, the electrical power went out in the front part of condo. Many other problems because of the wrong HVAC unit. The company was unaccountable and after awhile I stopped calling them because they couldn't solve or fix the problems they caused. I had to get all my circuit breakers replaced because when they caused the circuit breaker to trip twice it weakened the surrounding breakers in the electrical panel. The HVAC unit was not functioning properly so I contacted other HVAC companies and had their most experienced technicians examine the HVAC unit. They all noted that the HVAC was oversized and overpowered; big gap around entire unit and water would get inside when it rained; it was not level and it was tilted. It was the wrong unit installed. So I got up to speed and a little education on the workings of a HVAC unit. I knew I had to get the wrong HVAC unit removed and replaced with the correct one. Even though I got a good grasp of everything that was wrong with the HVAC unit, I couldn't trust anyone 100 percent to put in the correct HVAC unit. I knew the reality with the HVAC issue but the task to get it removed, and the correct one installed by a trustworthy HVAC contractor was difficult to execute. Just thinking about it sometimes put me in a daze. I was getting tired of googling HVAC companies. I had talked to so many and seen enough. But then one morning when I was perusing Yelp something caught my eye. Any business with all Five Stars from every customer always catches my eye. Every.Customer.Was.Happy. SALVATION HEATING AND COOLING. I called Salvation and Karla answered. And I told her my story and my terrible experience that started over a year ago. And that my HVAC situation was ongoing. And Karla listened to every word. Every now and then, she'd comment on something. She listened, and she really cared. After the very long conversation, I knew who would install my new/correct HVAC unit. The more I knew about Salvation, the better it got. Family Owned and Operated. I felt like I had been rescued. Weeks later, Karla and Master Technician and Owner Ernesto stopped by to take measurements, evaluate electrical panel, all the necessary preliminary steps. The pricing on the Proposal was very reasonable; I thought it would be much higher with today's inflation. Salvation removed the wrong HVAC and installed my new/correct HVAC last week. All the stress and anxiety I had for over a year has melted away. The installers, Carlos and Rolando were great. Very professional. Explained everything to me. Ernesto stopped by periodically, making sure I understood everything. Salvation Heating and Cooling has been a Blessing to me. A company with heart. They understand their customer's needs and work to accommodate the customer's schedule. Total honesty and integrity. No marketing gimmicks, they truly want to make the customer happy. Every customer. My new/correct HVAC unit is running perfectly. I'm at peace now. I will be forever grateful to Salvation Heating and Cooling.
