I've used RMI for HVAC maintenance service for over a decade, but recently I had an urgent problem when we were resurfacing our lanai and had to move the freon and electrical lines for the a/c. The other guys weren't qualified to do that, so I called RMI and explained it was kinda urgent because the other project couldn't proceed until the lines were moved. This was in August, which is busy season for HVAC companies, but since all their technicians were busy, the owner Randy came out himself on a hot afternoon to move the lines and do some simple rewiring. This was all done on a short 4 hour notice, and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg - it was very reasonable. RMI really did me a solid on this one, and their regular maintenance service (every 12-18 months) has been excellent as well. I can highly recommend RMI both for their competence as well as their aloha. Two big thumbs up, and 5 stars. Mahalo, RMI! read more

I have used several other service techs and they have broken my covers, and forgotten to put back screws and even hoses. Randy's team installed and cleaned my unit so well, I thought it was new. I've been a customer of RMI Mechanical for nearly 10 years. They've installed Mitsubishi split systems in both my home as well as my business. Both systems have performed flawlessly for the entire duration! I've had them visit on a regular basis to clean and maintain both system. They even call me to schedule and remind me when we're due for a cleaning! From the initial installation through all of the service calls, their staff has always been professional, courteous, thorough, and punctual. The reason for this 5 star review, which is long overdue, is because of my last experience with their work. I recently purchased a new home which did not have air conditioning. Since I was already doing a bunch of other renovations, I was physically on site during the installation of the systems. This allowed me to not only see what took place but also helped me to understand how much work is actually involved in the process! The incredible amount of care taken during the installation is what truly impressed me! I can honestly say there were no short cuts taken! Those guys bust ass!!! Climbing through the attic in the middle of the hottest time of the year has to seriously suck but having to climb up there myself is where I realized how much they really take pride in their workmanship! I could see where it was literally impossible to take short cuts! I personally would not want to spend an extra second in that attic but it was obvious they took the time to do it right. The stuff you normally can't see was done as clean and neat as the parts that can be seen! I honestly can't comment on pricing since I did not even consider getting another quote but having worked with RMI Mechanical for as long as I have, I have gained a new appreciation for their work ethics and especially their installation ability! I had my old split system replaced with a new Mitsubishi unit installed by Randy (owner). He and his helper were professional and efficient in every respect. Randy sent me a preliminary proposal within two days and he was here as soon I told him that I would like to finalize the contract. I was fortunate that he had an opening so the job was started within five days and completed in less than 4 hours including complete clean up and hauling away of the old equipment. I had received estimates from two other firms and the prices were comparable but I went with Randy because he showed care and was responsive to all of my requests.
