Popped in after riding the Heart of Ohio trail. Got the rib sampler with chicken & brisket. It did not disappoint! Meat is tender & plentiful. We got green beans that were good, but I recommend putting bacon or ham in them! The coleslaw was also good. Order at the counter & grab your own sauces. My husband and I just discovered Road Hog Willy's and we really enjoyed it. We purchased the sampler with ribs and it was delicious. The brisket, ribs, and, chicken were all fantastic bbq. Make sure you try the corn bread it is amazing! The staff were all super friendly and I was told they remodeled the restaurant recently to be able to seat more customers. Place is definitely set for outside seating (perfect for great weather days) a little small on the inside, so not much room for parties more than 4, there is two tables for more and also a bar!! With the food- I'll start first with saying that, they run out of some things even before 6pm, BUT that only shows how freaking good the food is!! It was our first time (yes a Saturday night) but they were BUSY! We got the pulled pork and it was just so good, and their sauces are pretty darn good too. They have plenty so you should be able to find one you like (I liked a few). I had the two meat platter brisket pulled pork, mac & cheese baked beans. The brisket was good pulled pork was tasty. If you put barbecue sauce on it the mac & cheese kind of looked like it was store-bought aluminum pan baked beans were decent. I'd go there again and try some other things. read more

Returned with a co-worker for lunch and this time I ordered the ribs. Half-rack about 7 bones. Very juicy and falling off the bone. Great smoky taste and great bark. Very good. Will return to get more ribs, probably. read more

Best BBQ brisket we have ever had. They have 4 or 5 sauces that they make that just adds to the experience. Pork ribs are SPECIAL according to the wife ( I let her have them because she gnaws them to the bone.) Something she never does. We have been there 5 times and always look forward to going back. We had to come up to Mount Vernon to pick up a motorcycle and this restaurant was next door. Be sure to watch for it, there's limited signage so it's easy to pass up. It's in with a coffee shop. Road trip to Mt Vernon to try another BBQ place. Place has only been open for about a month and a half. Tried some pulled pork which had a nice light smoky flavor, portion was huge They have a number of sauces which included the smoke House, mustard, also jalapeno catsup. The smokehouse had a nice sweet taste to it. Mac n cheese had a ton of cheese which was baked. Corned pudding was off the chart good. I hold it up there with City BBQ's. Baked beans were straight out of can. Nothing special at all, kind of disappointing. Greens had a ton of pork in them, they weren't bad at all but could have used either salt or a little vinegar. You get a couple of slices of bread with your meal. Place has only been open for a month and a half. While I was there they were definitely doing the business, pretty much non stop. They have inside and outside seating. read more

Let me start by saying I love BBQ, i currently travel frequently to KY to eat my favorite BBQ at Sonny's !! I have been to so many BBQ places and I know what's good (at least to me) today was my first time eating here, the staff are kind with smiles and that is nice to see. Service was top notch! The atmosphere inside is very typical for a BBQ place many TVs and booths are cozy! Lots of different sauces to try and all were good. I thought the pulled chicken was excellent and I would buy again! They other meats were average. Sides left a lot to be desired!! They all lack flavor! I mean zero flavor! My suggestion to Road Hog is a few things! 1-add some baby bag ribs! 2- add smoked turkey! 3-make sure someone revamps your sides, they need some seasoning in the worst way! 4-GARLIC TEXAS TOAST, come on, it's a MUST! I was given two pieces of Texas toast (bread was not toast so I can't call it that really) you need a good garlic butter toasted Texas toast!!! My husband said the burger and pulled pork was great, when or if we see some changes to the menu, we will definitely be back! read more

The food was decent. The ribs were tender and the variety of BBQ sauces at the tables is nice. Greens were tasty but they don't have hot sauce, just XXXBBQ sauce which sufficed. My friend's chicken sandwich was a bit dry..."I wouldn't get it again". The fries were really good. Not my style of mac n cheese, also dry. I wanted to try the corn pudding but they had just run out, which was fine (because I ended up with the fries). What wasn't fine was the way the shorter, blonde woman in the back kitchen area was being extremely rude to her exceptionally sweet, competent cashiers. One cashier had asked about the corn pudding and the shorter blonde answered it would be about 30 minutes--The cashier waiting on me did not know that. When my cashier asked about the corn pudding the blonde yelled at her something to the effect "I just said it'd be at least 30 minutes". So, no corn pudding was a bummer but the management's response to good employees killed the ambience. In a climate where good employees are dwindling to see them being treated this way was disturbing. A. Management should probably prepare more corn pudding to keep up with the demand, and B. Management should not vent their frustration at their own lack of preparation on their kind, accommodating staff. The rudeness really killed the vibe. read more

Best beef brisket sandwiches i have had in a long time with out having to drive like 30 miles to Route 66. My daughter loves the cornbread bake. I only wish he has hoagie stem buns. His XXX BBQ sauce is to die for. An he makes killer ribs but have to order some or they are gone. I usually buy couple lbs of the brisket an makes sandwiches at home. We stopped in for lunch today, our third time eating here. We have had the brisket ( huge portion and really good), pulled chicken (very good), and today the ribs (best I have had in a long time, not fatty and cooked perfect). The collard greens have a lot of flavor, they are seasoned and have smoked turkey leg in them. The corn-bake is amazing, and the mac n cheese is good too.
