    Whipped Burrata
    Rena S.

We stopped here on a Thursday night when we were visiting from out of town and sat at the bar. Erica was our server. She was super friendly and gave lots of great recommendations! We decided to try the whipped burrata, meatballs, steak skewers, Caesar salad, and a bianco pizza. Everything was amazing! They have so many good choices that it was difficult to decide. The place was clean and the portion size was good for the $. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this place!

We loved the place! Great energy, great staff and delicious food. We had the scampi bread with cheese as an appetizer. It was heavenly. For the entree we had garlic parmesean wings that fell off the bone. And a wood fire pizza with our favorite toppings with a base of olive oil. The dessert was a pumpkin crisp. Pure heaven. It tasted like fall. We will be back again!

UPDATE - We've been coming to this restaurant for years. Love their pizza, probably one of the best pizzas I've had anywhere, including Italy. So it was surprising when we learned it was no longer Amato's. It is now Burrata Woodfired. So we had to come in and try it out. With the change in brand etc, they're still making adjustments so no pizza was available, but we did try other items on the menu. We ordered the Angry Pig pasta (amazing!) the Reuben and the Italian sausage sandwiches. Everything was great. Our waitress spent time introducing us to the new items on the menu and making sure we knew that some of our old favorites would still be available maybe under a new name. Great value, very generous portions and private parking.

Very nice and clean restaurant. We ordered the Italian meatball soup, antipasta salad, garlic parm wings and a pizza overloaded with pepperoni and banana peppers. Amazing! The waitress was very polite but the service was a little slow. Can't wait to stop back again.

The people ARE the quality. And THESE quality people serve up authentic, high-quality Italian food, each & every day.

If you want authentic woodfired pizza without any pretense of the service in a cozy & well decorated spot you'll be happy to make a regular haunt -- and you don't want to drive to Columbus to get it -- this is the place to go. Authentic Italian from scratch with too many excellent dishes to catalog here... you just gotta go, and go early so you get a seat. This place fills up FAST! Love the name change, but missing the love that was literally consonant with the name Amato's. Anxious to try the updated menu, including anything to do with new moniker. Randomly stopped here after going to the theater in Mt Vernon. It was good! Good amount of parking, lots of selections on the menu (and a nice draft beer selection), helpful and friendly staff, and the food was delcious. Wood fired pizza was yummy and the pasta was filling. Already planning to go back the next time we are in Mt Vernon.

Food was so good that I could not stop eating even though I was full. The device was amazing and were very kind. It was not to loud and had a good choice of music that fit the vibe.

Baked manicotti. Yummy and perfect size.

The server was awesome and the place felt like everyone would know your name. Oh and all the food was delicious. Could've used less Alfredo sauce. The atmosphere felt like it was a place where you could bring friends and family.

The cutest redheaded bartender gave us such great service and told us the best choices and helped my buddy pick her flight. She was fantastic and if you are in the area - visit! The pizza was fantastic and hot, ambiance was amazing and we had a great time!

I ordered the Chicken Salad Sub and a Table Salad. Both choices were very flavorful and delicious. My waitress was Amy and I ordered what she recommended. The ambiance was nice, relaxing, and clean. The bathroom was very clean as well! When I'm in Mount Vernon, Ohio this is my go to place. You will not be disappointed. On previous trips, I had some of the wood fired pizza. Everything is delicious.

Walking in you're welcomed by many friendly faces! We sat ourselves (at the request of our server) and our server was with us quickly! She had great recommendations and was very informative, telling us about the specials currently going on and what their beer list was. We tried 2 beers before deciding on the coffee stout and melon mojito beer (different but refreshing!!) we went during the early evening so it wasn't busy at all, maybe 4 other tables of people. Our server who was also the bartender on the other side of the wall stayed on top of everything and we never felt neglected. The food was delicious! We got the spinach artichoke dip at the recommendation of our server and it was delicious! I got the May salad special which was a shrimp/mango/chimichurri salad and it was refreshing and light and perfect for the warm day! My husband got the bacon ranch pizza, it was yummy but probably wouldn't order it again, it just seemed to be missing something, not crazy flavorful. We ended with the cannoli and let me just say if you think you can share one, you're wrong, order the set of 3!! Wow so so good! We will definitely be back!! Such a great experience

The sauces weren't my favorite either... Italian salad dressing, chunky red sauce, and the cream base of Alfredo sauce (not good - basically just plain cold cream). The white chicken Parmesan entree was very good though, well worth the trip!

This place functions primarily as a daytime café, but on Fridays and Saturdays, the chef/owner crafts a rotating four-course menu that changes weekly. There is a shared bread or antipasto course for the table, then a choice of soup or salad, two entrees, and two desserts. We went the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The bread course was a delicious focaccia, light and pillowy and infused with rosemary flavor. When we told our server how much we loved it, she offered us a clamshell with two additional slices to take home. That was such a nice gesture! I had the soup (a cream-based Italian soup with sausage, kale and potatoes), while my husband had the salad with homemade balsamic dressing. Both hit the spot. The dinner options were a choice of pastas. I had the puttanesca, which was bursting with big flavors from the garlic, anchovy and olives. If I had one slight criticism, it would have been that I'd have loved a touch more red pepper -- but I'll freely admit I have a higher spice tolerance than most people. My husband had the "summer fettuccine," which was prepared with bacon, corn and sun-dried tomatoes in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. I didn't taste it because I'm not a fan of the Gorgonzola flavor, but he raved. Both desserts were superb: a strawberry cake and an apple cake that our server informed us was also vegan. We never would have known. It was not dense at all in the way some vegan desserts can be. The server and the chef/owner were both so lovely and welcoming to two non-locals who stumbled in for dinner on a rainy night. It seemed like they knew everyone else there by name, so this is definitely a warm and inviting neighborhood place. The four-course dinner is a steal at $38 per person (plus tax and tip). It's also BYOB. We will surely be back on our next trip to Athens!

Our experience was great! Short review summary: Kids eat free on Sunday made the process awesome,…read moreservice was very good, and food was pretty good. Decor was fine despite the remnants of the old brand still there. More info, for those that care: In my type A personality I noticed a lot. Sure there is still decor that needs attention, like Christmas lights still up (must be a choice on purpose), a few paint locations need touched up, and yes, three surfboards still mounted to the ceiling from the old restaurant, but it didn't change the ambiance much. Music was nice (smooth jazz was playing) and most of all, food was pretty good and price was great. The free appetizer bread was really good, my Chicken Marsala was good, and my wife's Chicken Alfredo was really good. The kids spaghetti and Alfredo cheese ravioli were good too. Nothing tasted like Olive Garden, it had a unique local taste (BTW if you didn't know OG pasta is just bagged and boiled- as someone who works in the kitchen, they'll tell you). Overall the food was cooked well, sauce tastes handmade - salad dressing on my side salad definitely did (balsamic) and despite there being some generic things like iceberg lettuce and generic mushrooms, it tasted pretty good. I think what made it the best was our service, which was outstanding. The place was a ghost town, there was one other party there and us. So we should have had great service. The main host/waiter was great though despite the good timing (he welcomed us and responded to anything we needed quickly). Finally, the price was awesome! We got 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals, with kids eat free on Sundays, so our bill was $43 before tip. Overall we hope to go back and try another time. If you haven't been recently, you should definitely go back and try it again!

We wanted to try something new in Heath and Thiango's popped up so we tried it. The interior is nicely decorated but it still had some Christmas decorations up in mid February so that should have been a clue that something was a little off. When we got seated and settled in we realized that it was really cold interior restaurant - like 60 degrees cold. The waiter, Shawn, was horrible forgot our drink order - 3 times. He suggested having the seafood so that is what we had. I had the seafood platter which was OK - the salmon was over cooked and they forgot to put the crab in it. When I pointed out the lack of crab they told me they would get me a side of shrimp? Wifie had the salmon platter with linguini covered in rose vodka sauce which the salmon was over cooked but the rose vodka sauce was really good. It took forever to get the food out and the waiter stopped by so infrequently that our drinks spent more time empty than one could imagine. They offered to bring us more bread but they ran out. The bread was good also. This would have been a great place to dine if it was not for the poor service, the overcooked fish, the cold temperature of the resturant, the forgotten crab, the empty drinks, this lack of bread, ...
