We had used them in the past and they were great, but we recently used them and the service has become terrible. Below will explain the breakdown for such a low rating. DAMAGE: They damaged my home during the move. They cut into my drywall and damaged my window frames, ceiling, and stairs. That will require a repaint and the damage can not be undone. QUOTE: I was quoted for $330, it ended up being $500. I could have had another moving company do it for $140 but I thought I would give it to Road Warrior since we used them in the past. After the move was done however they bumped up the price, I discussed it with Frank and was just told that is the quote we gave you, which it was not. Also, it was not explained that while the truck is in transit you are paying $120 per hour for two guys and paying for the transit of the truck also which is a surcharge. STAFF: Previously we had great guys, this time we had a junior mover, and a guy that was just off the boat. They were way too heavy handed and as a result they damaged both the moving items and the house. Don't get me wrong a nice guy, but no experience and between a junior directing someone who never moved stuff before it was a recipe for disaster. I blame that on the management, not the movers. I asked Frank about this and he said 'the last move you had two senior foremen this time you had a junior and a new guy, thats just the way it is, there is no guarantee as to what you will get'. I certainly was not given the guarantee of your paying $120 an hour for two people that may have no idea of what they are doing in your house and when your left with the damage tough luck. I ended up having to help them as I felt like they had little experience, which I later found out from Frank was right. OVERALL: I would not use them again. I have referred several people to this company and they've just gone downhill since. I was duped on the quote, and duped on the impression I had using them that I would be getting experienced movers, there is no guarantee, and when things go wrong you are on your own the same way as if you went with a cheaper crew at a third of the price. I would not use them again, and would not recommend to friends. Its bad business etiquette to treat good customers like this. read more

Road Warrior's motto, "we'll go the extra mile for you", is right on. I had contracted with another moving company to move us from MA to SC the week before the 4th of July, the busiest moving week of the year. When that $%&^# mover DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE AND DID NOT CONTACT ME, I was fortunate to find Road Warrior at 4:30 pm that same day, which was the day before we were closing on the sale of our MA home and had to vacate. Frank, the owner, provided a quote within an hour and had a crew stop by the house at 7:00 pm to plan the pack/move. I was very impressed that the quote was fair and did not take advantage of my situation. The next morning, 8 people showed up and packed/loaded our 15K pounds by 4:30 PM, allowing us to get to closing at 5:00 pm and saving us from a terrible and potentially costly situation. Richard, the crew chief, is a top notch professional and took full responsibility for the quality of the entire process. He also drove the truck to SC and was the crew chief on the delivery end. All the workers on both ends were polite, efficient, experienced, careful, cheerful and very hard-working. Both Frank and Richard contacted me several times during the move to check on my satisfaction and keep me informed on the arrival times. Road Warriors are a great group of guys (most neg reviews seem to come from a particular groupon client/incident? I've never had curt/rude phone presence with RW...) from mgmt to the actual working, sweating movers. They are monsters! No eff'ing around, no texting on the job, no nuthin' but moving! Super friendly, but - more importantly! - super efficient. And they're smart, too! Careful, thoughtful workers, not just gorillas banging your sh*t around. We used them for an office move, then one of my officemates used them for her house move and I recommended them to our big boss when she need packer/movers. We moved in a couple phases, one for decluttering where they took half of our stuff and stored for months (in their storage) while we showed & sold; another after we actually sold our condo, moving the other half of our life's belongings into storage (including a live chest freezer with tons of stocks, sauces, meats); and lastly, when we finally moved out of storage and into the new home two weeks later, patio furniture, bedroom furniture re-assembled, chest freezer intact and still chilling! I had a situation that required my relocation in a very short period of time, and as it was unexpected price was a major consideration. A friend, who had used Road Warrior for a number of moves, recommended I give them a call. First, I can't say enough about the immediate personal attention I received from Frank, the owner. He came right out to the house and gave me a very reasonable price; he was also extremely accommodating in scheduling the move. Moving day, the guys showed up right on time, were polite and very professional. I was amazed how quickly they had everything packed. They were very organized, and the care they took with my belongings reassured me that nothing would be damaged. This turned out to be true, and to confirm this, Frank, again personally, contacted me after the move to make sure that there was no damage, and that all went as planned. They started loading the truck in East Bridgewater at 9:30 in the morning and were finished unloading in Hyde Park at 11:30. I can't say enough about the job they did, and Frank and Company made what is usually a very stressful moving day into an easy one. read more

Outstanding Company. Historically, we've used another highly regarderd moving company but heard great things about Road Warrior thru a friend. We decided to give them a try as they were significantly cheaper than the other company (and came with the recommendation). We were extremely happy with the work. They were a very engaging, courteous crew that worked quickly and were very careful with the furniture, the art work, and the walls/floors. They also came in slighly below the original estimate, which is always a bonus. Would definitely use them again! Specifics about the job- Moved from a 1300 Sq Foot 3rd floor, 2 Bedroom Boston apartment into a large house in the 'burbs. The job was fairly straight forward, although it required some creativity getting an oversized couch out of the condo. They ended up hoisting it down to the street through a large window, which saved us money for not having to bring in a crane. We recently completed a lengthy move and we were definitely disappointed in Road Warriors. We had heard that Gentle Giant and Road Warriors were the two we should consider in the area and we went with Road Warriors -- a decision we would come to regret. Without going into all the detail, the problems were on the delivery end and just a lack of overall care or concern for making things easier or being thorough (read: they did NOT go the extra mile in our case, or even go the original mile for that matter). I see other people here have had a good experience so maybe we just had the wrong crew or maybe they are great for local moves, but I can't recommend this company for an out-of-town move. They were certainly nice enough and I think it would absolutely be unfair to give them 0 or 1 stars, but I have to believe you can do better. Highly Recommended. Frank's team moved me into my condo 7 years ago. I had a good experience, so i called him again for my move out this year and was impressed to find that he still had the notes from the last move. This helped him to accurately estimate the cost and send the right number of guys out - a team of five who could not have been more courteous, helpful, and hard working. They arrived promptly, worked a long day, and moved me out of a third floor walk up into a building with an elevator. "nice, but slows us down", explained Anders, the crew lead, and he wasn't joking. We used Road Warrior two weeks ago to move out of a large home in New Hampshire to an apartment in Massachusetts. We were moving some of our belongings to the apartment, some to on-site storage and some to storage with Road Warrior. From the time we got our original estimate from Frank to the time Josh and his crew finished moving us into the apartment, everyone did what they said they would do and did it well. We had to make several adjustments to our plans before the move and Frank was always responsive and made us feel like nothing was a problem for them to handle. Road Warrior Moving & Storage is a wonderful company! Frank was the person who helped us and he came highly recommended by colleagues of mine and he and his crew did an AMAZING job with our move. Given that we were moving during a crazy snow storm, the boys really came in and got everything done quickly and efficiently. I felt so bad for them having to deal with such bad moving conditions, but they got the job done while keeping a smile on their faces. We used Road Warriors to move from our condo in Somerville to a house in Arlington. Our condo was on the third floor of a very old building with winding narrow staircases and very narrow doorways. Road warriors moved everything out in no time without a single scratch to our furniture or to our building. They showed up exactly on time, were extremely professional, friendly, and Fast! We couldn't have asked for a better moving experience, it was a pleasure (words you don't often hear in relation to moving). In addition, they came in under what they quoted! There was a fire in my building and my apartment was water damaged. Along with the rest of the building it was uninhabitabal. On a bitter cold January day four guys from Road Warrior packed up all the contents of that apartment with no heat, water or electricity all day, and delivered it like a rubik's cube into a tight fireproof storage space. They were cheerful and thoughtful, easy to work with and incredibly efficient. They moved me into my new apartment yesterday. (Not one thing was broken.) I've had good luck with movers in the past, but these are the best! read more

Not that happy. They came in with a slightly Lowe quote.. But in the end we paid for it. I wish we had used Gentle giant. They banged a wall on the way out. Granted they attempted to fix.. But in a rushed way. Then somehow our stuff got black residue all over.. Probably from the pads.. Or something in storage. When we moved back in, the broke a glass table. They did give us some credit, but ended costing another 200 dollars to replace and the walls were pretty marked up when they left. I would go elsewhere and not use again. read more

This past weekend Jeff and Andree packed a pod for my daughter. I don't know how he managed, but Jeff got everything into the one pod. They will accommodate you as to time number of locations. Two guys (George & Matt) were so professional, full of understanding and extremely careful with the stuff. In addition, they came on time and the final bill came very close to the quote.
