    Steak alfredo...yummy

Lakeview Grille doesn't have a sign stating they were voted best steaks for no reason. They truly are the best! You don't have to order the most expensive cut of steak. The sirloin is fantastic. I ordered the steak Alfredo pasta. It comes with a sliced 8 oz sirloin on top. There is enough Alfredo sauce, so any leftovers will still be saucy. It has perfectly cooked pasta, mushrooms and broccoli. Hubby's sirloin was cooked to perfection. The salads that come with the meal are huge and delicious. Desserts look good but we didn't have room. Might have to come just for appetizers and dessert one day.

Venturing out from the restaurant desert that is Morris, Illinois, we decided on the Lakeview Grill for our 34th wedding anniversary. The menu looked good, and the pictures of the dining room did as well. We decided on their special menu, and uncharacteristically both got the same thing: two 4 ounce filet mignon and crab meat with béarnaise sauce, asparagus, and garlic mashed. My picture doesn't do the entre justice... it was perfectly constructed, and the steaks melted in our mouths. It was THAT good. Was it choice? Prime? I don't care... it was among the tastiest filets I've ever had. Whomever grilled them knows what they are doing. The salad was fresh, the bleu cheese dressing tasty. The mashed was dense, but delicious, as were the asparagus. The sauce was not overpowering. My only negative is that the crab was likely claw, but I'll give that a pass. The bread was warm, fluffy, delicious. For an apéritif, I got a Manhattan, which I haven't had for years, and it really didn't fit my menu choice. I only mention this because it was WAY too big for me being the lightweight I am. Hey, no complaints... it was a DEAL. Now to the desert... Perfection! She got the Key Lime, I am a sucker for cheesecake. The portions were HUGE, and at just $8.00, a steal. To end this, a shout-out to our server Tina. Never in my 50+ years of dining has there been a more perfect server. Friendly, helpful, attentive... she was fantastic. The bill came to $115 with tip, and it was worth every penny.

Donna was really nice. She gave us ice to put in what we call "heart attack in a cup" (a water with a TON of salt). Thank you Donna

It has a lot of choices that are meaty and these even include salads. Also kind of a hectic atmosphere. There's not a whole lot of room inside for tables. Basic looking place in a strip mall with other places to eat. It's somewhere after going past it enough times I got a craving for a falafel wrap so finally we came in. They got a much more limited menu that really made us struggle to choose something. A few okay things to get. There's a counter to order that and they bring it out. It's about $7 to get the dolmanthes. These are the classic stuffed grape leaves. It's about $8 to get hummus. This is pretty much the extent of the vegetarian options. Someone forgot to put falafel on the menu. They have plenty of chicken though. Crappy. The lunch was okay but it seemed not that fresh to be honest. Fairly okay food if liking gyros and kabobs because that's mostly all they actually got. It's one of the few restaurants of this cuisine to not have any falafel on the menu which is crazy stuff. There's a few items for vegetarians but these are sides or whatever.

So good! Had the combo kabob! Both steak and chicken were great. Love the garlic sauceread more

Good if bringing people with varying food preferences. The prices are okay on most things. Big area around the bar, with plenty of seating inside. It's pretty clean, and not scuzzy like a country bar typically would be like. The menu has lots of meats, but that's not everything thankfully. Has many things to drink. It's about $9 for a mule. There's a choice of whiskey. It's about $11 for appetizers. We got the Fried Cauliflower, which is probably the healthiest thing. Comes with a choice of chili sauce or ranch, so you can make it not as healthy. The burgers are popular with the make your own topping choices, and so is the macaroni and cheese topped with meaty proteins. Easy to find, because the name of street is in the name of the restaurant of course. It's got a happy hour. There's a few bucks off some cocktails, as well as a few appetizers so that's cool stuff.

Que Brava is not one of these typical cluttered family owned and operated restaurants. For sure seems organized and competent. The prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing. Coming in here the first time we got something that wasn't expected. It's actually a pretty clean place. There's tables that actually are cleaned off between customers if you can believe that. A good thing is there's alcohol. There's some other classic beverages too. Get agua frescas. They have horchata, and there's Jamaica which is made with hibiscus. But alcohol you have to get it of course. It's about $13 for a margarita. These come in a few flavors, some interesting ones. I got the Hibiscus Margarita. This is made with Grand Marnier, hibiscus tea, lime mix, tequila, and triple sec. Great thing was it wasn't as sweet as it sounded like it would be. The prices keep people from getting more. For sure the best stuff is the food. It's got a whole vegetarian section. A lot easier to order. It's about $18 for the tacos. These are a few tacos filled with mushrooms, peppers, and zucchini. Comes with sides of rice and beans. Pretty filling. Also they have the other usual classics. There's quesadillas, tortas, and more stuff. Great place as far as taste and authentic flavors. It's closed Tuesdays. There's meaty options as well as a few things for vegans and vegetarians.
