Easily the best restaurant I have tried in Great Falls! The burger was very simple, but delicious. Fries were borderline shoestring in style, and the crispness, bacon, and cheese made them even better! I love variety so I'm always a sucker for "the special" burger. Each special (typically inspired by the current holiday, a pop culture event, or a local milestone) is only offered for a short time and is tasty enough that you want it to stay longer. The special also reveals the creativity and sense of humor of the restaurant's owner - which really stands out in this small community. The permanent burgers on their menu are there for a reason. So good. My favorites are the Bundy (boasting thick bacon and topped with a fried egg) and the Winchester (all kinds of meat), followed by the PB&J for the novelty of it. Their fries are exactly what they should be; thin, slightly crispy but delightfully limp with the perfect touch of grease. Mmmm. Try them "Elvis style" but you'll like them anyway they get to you. ATMOSPHERE: This place looks like a log cabin! Where else would you want to eat an epic and unforgettable burger? Don't be misled, however. This cabin is clean and well-branded with a bright yellow logo, customized artwork that captures the imagination behind each "special", and a cheerful serving staff parading around in classic diner-style uniforms and aprons. I have wanted to try the Roadhouse Diner since my first trip to Great Falls when every local you talk to mentions it, it's worth a trip. From the minute you walk in, you feel welcome and that they really want your experience to be amazing. I was very torn between the spicy Widowmaker and the peanut butter burger, I ended up going with the Widowmaker. I LOVE spicy food but if it's too spicy, it's not good food. The burger was the perfect amount of spice to make you take notice without killing all your taste buds. My mom ordered the special burger which featured a local beer, and I assume it was excellent because it was quickly gone with comments about how good it was. On top of the burgers they had hand-cut fries which were incredible and the Friday fry special also looked amazing. I'm not sure there is anything you would be disappointed by. In addition to the amazing food, Tara is one of the friendliest, most interactive owner I've ever seen. She asks how everything is and actually listens to your answer. The entire waitstaff works as a team and it really helps make you visit special. Next time I'm back in Great Falls, I'll be back! read more

I suspect this is an amazing burger place. However, I made the mistake of having my first experience there on a Sunday when they serve no burgers. I had the two eggs to order, over easy I might add and they were fine... Another diner attempted to order a breakfast Sammy sandwich with a to order/ a la minute- something other than fried hard egg. To my utter disappointment, The RoadHouse Diner informed us that the breakfast Sammy can only be ordered with an over hard fried egg. The other diner had to hold the fried egg and order an additional fried egg over medium on the side at an additional charge to get a sandwich with a runny yolk. WTH? At this point I'd like to add I've ordered breakfast in restaurants all over the United States and other countries in the world. And never have I had a restaurant who has to-order eggs on the menu NOT be able to amend a single item. Shame on you for only having a breakfast menu on sundays. You're a burger joint; stick to what you're good at. read more

The BlackBean burger was so very tasty. I wish I picked up 2! An extra for my next meal. I travel alot for work. This is a place YOU MUST GO!!! The twice fried fries! So yummy!!! I ordered a couple during my visit. The PB&J was a little too sweet for me to order as a main meal but served as a great appetizer for our group. I decided to go with the Winchester. Loved the crossroad sauce for my fry's and the Siracha mayo. The supernatural nods amongst other pop culture references was a great touch. Love that all ingredients are local. Must stop in Great Falls. Unfortunately I found this place on the last night of my trip or I'd have probably eaten here nightly. The burgers may be the best I've had in a long while with interesting combinations, the loaded fries are killer, and the service was spectacular. The ladies behind the bar were sweet, attentive, and seemed to genuinely enjoy speaking with customers. Unlike most of the other restaurants in town the ladies here make you feel welcome. Whether you're just in town for a night, or moving here make it a point to swing by. Be advised that they are not a sports bar so there are no TVs on the wall or alcohol served, but the folks serving more than make up for it with great conversation. read more

It is a small restaurant, and people line up to get in, so go early or late to miss the regular lunch crowd.
