Ok, first time here, just ordered and waiting for my burger. First impressions - Mom & pop place with rustic / log interior. Place emits a family / homey atmosphere, and it all just flows together. 4 1/2 out of 5. Have eaten here numerous times since 2016. When I am overcome with a burger urge, this is my cure of choice. They serve a great burger...cooked to order, never frozen beef that is freshly ground every day. Friendly service, locally owned, and a wide selection of unusual options make this burger joint one of the best, if not the best in Montana. Hell, it's better than most places in the country. They will let you build your own. If the ingredient is in the kitchen and you ask for it, it's on your burger. Well done, in house made fries completed our lunch. There is also a special burger of the day that is not included in the menu. The side salad, what my wife calls a honeymoon salad (you know...lettuce alone) was accompanied by a tasty dressing of choice. These people are true burger artists and have earned my "Burger Loyalty". Note to Tara: Since you don't serve beer, could you keep a cold one in the cooler for my lunch. Split decision for me on this one. Let me start by saying, the burger (I got the PB&J burger) and fries were top notch. I have zero complaints about the food...but honestly, that's where the superlatives end. It's very crowded and small. You can barely hear someone across the table talking when you order. This must be an issue for the wait staff too as they got our order wrong (one person got the wrong thing twice). They don't serve alcohol here, which isn't a dealbreaker, but at this type of place, I'd almost expect it. I've heard lots of bragging about this place, and based only on food, I get it. Given the chance, I'd fire up my Delorean to 88 MPH and go back in time and get it all to go. Good food...everything else...meh. read more

Wow, just wow! Best burger I've had in a long time! They use fresh, local meat and grains for their burgers. Came in with two other people and sat at the bar, watching a bustling kitchen and wait staff. The place was packed with locals and I understand why! I ordered the PB&J Burger with an extra patty and cheese. Completely out of this world and such a flavorful combination. The rest of my party ordered the onion burger and a death by bacon burger and they were both just as satisfied. The fries are cut small and thin and cooked to crispy perfection. The decor is western but still modern and I loved the wood cabin feel. The staff is beyond friendly and made us feel right at home. I'm definitely gunna miss this place, I might have to come back to Great Falls just for this burger joint. read more

One of the best burgers you will ever eat!! They ground the beef fresh each day, and never frozen. They also make the fries from scratch and all their ingredients are from Montana. I ate there twice in the same day because the service was wonderful (friendly waits and got welcomed with a smile right when we came in) , and had to share the experience with my wife. The outside parking is VERY limited when its busy so be prepared to be creative if you are driving. The inside seating seems small but amazingly fits a good size crowd and extra seating in the "bar" area. Dinner for 2 ran about $28 (before tip). The price may seem a little high, but I wasn't shocked because the experience was wonderful and felt they earned every penney. read more

The option should've been fries or lettuce as that is what it was. Always seems very lazy to me when a restaurant serves a plate of lettuce and calls it a salad. My friend and I went to the Roadhouse Diner on Saturday. We both ordered a burger meal. My burger was really rare but I ate it anyway. When my friend tried her burger, I thought she was going to be sick. Her burger was really undercooked and bloody. She asked the waitress for another burger patty. The waitress was happy to do it. When the burger patty came, you could tell that it was completely overcooked on purpose. It was really flat and hard. I guess the cook didn't like his food sent back. I freakin' love this place. I wandered in shortly after moving back to Great Falls, not knowing how busy it gets at lunch time. Luckily, I found a spot at the little bar top and was promptly greeted by the owner. I ordered whatever the burger special was, and asked if I could get it without onions. The response? "If you pick them off." They don't customize burger orders. I wasn't sure what to think of that, but when I got my burger I decided to eat it with the onions. And I'm glad I did. For the record, the only way I will eat an onion is if it's cut into rings, battered, and deep fried. But the onions on that burger were delicious. Seriously. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I'll definitely be back. And I'll eat my burger however they intend it to be eaten. I might even eat a tomato. *gasp* It does seem to get busy at lunch, so plan accordingly. read more

I am usually not a burger guy, but I will definitely be back. The Winchester was a nice mix for my choice of burger, grilled onions, cheese, and a special sauce enclosed in a nice tasting bun. I ordered the gravy with my fries, a little on the lighter side for my taste, I like a thicker gravy but they were good enough for me to have an empty plate in the end. The server was personable and responsive to our every need. I highly recommend this as a stop if you are in Great Falls, MT. I agree with an earlier reviewer- best burger ever. I'm a sucker for a burger with a little spice but sometimes it can be a tad too much. This was not so in this case. I had the special which was Porky's Revenge with smoky meaty bacon, hot pepper medley, with a house made chipotle sauce. The heat was great - not too much. Excellent! Really really really good. I ordered the PB&J one which I would NEVER do and lemme say.....damn! That was pretty darn good! The hubs got the Winchester which he enjoyed quite a bit and I also got a small roadie. They each came with fries. Fries were good. I felt they needed a be a touch hotter with a bit more salt though. I also grabbed a huckleberry ice cream sandwich. I didn't order drinks, and it was 40 bucks with the tip. I don't mind paying good money for food, but 40 bucks for 3 burgers and fries seems a bit high to me. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. Oh, I'll come back again. Don't get it twisted. . I'll PAY the prices, lol. I have no choice. I don't really like hamburgers, but that PB&J really was delicious. And that's probably what I will get next time. Being on the road, I don't know when that will be, but I know for sure I'd come back here again. Service was excellent, staff was quick, efficient and friendly.
