    Warm mushroom salad
    Danielle J.

TLDR: yummy food and good service. Got there early so no wait! First time here since new owners and renovations. The inside is plain, it used to be a kitschy place that felt warm. Now it's blank walls and beige. So not loving the renovation. Outside looks great though. Know it is a small place and gets busy so there will be a wait at normal dinner time during the season! The server (Hannah) was very good. Friendly and attentive, but not overly. Seven of us with separate checks and she got everything right with a smile on her face. The food was yummy! I started with the warm mushroom salad - glad that was kept on the menu! The vinaigrette is soooo good! Then I had clams linguine, which had good flavor and was pretty. Finished with chocolate crème brûlée. Friends enjoyed the special of flounder francaise, crab cakes (ALL crab and no filler), and a chicken supper. Overall very pleased and will be back!

I was excited to try out the Roadside Bar and Grill after checking out the various restaurants available in duck. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sit outside, but there are only a few tables outside that overlook the street. We ended up sitting in a booth next to the kitchen, that was both interesting and a touch annoying. It was pretty cool to see all the food come out and see what people were ordering. Overall the food items we all ordered were quite good, but our service was just so so. I'm sure business is very bumping on a Saturday evening but I feel it could've been a little better. I'd recommend checking out the Roadside Bar and Grill as it is one of the few good options in duck.

Absolutely fantastic!!! It was a birthday lunch and I chose Roadside because I've never been and I'm local. We arrived at 12, and walked right in. The owner/chef walked us in, very friendly. We picked a booth, atmosphere absolutely fitting, it was both warm and fun. Our waiter was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Great menu with something for everyone. I had a cranberry and vodka, good! We all got salads, I got the Roadside salad and a tomato pie. Just wow....the tomato pie was amazing, I brought most home, but because of just that I'd go back, a must try for sure. The salads were very good, and one friend had clam chowder and she said it was excellent. We all left both full and planning on going back before they close for winter updates. When in Duck-make it your first stop!

Roadside was a fun place to go. Our server was really nice and attentive. The staff here, although young, is very good. That was probably the best part of the dining experience. The seafood pasta's, were unfortunately quite bland. The seafood portions were nice though which is usually a rare find. The noodles tasted like they were boiled in water without salt sadly. The burgers are all smash burgers and are pretty good. Would recommend the burgers over the pastas or seafood dishes. The food was alright, but the staff was definitely the highlight.

best tasting meal of the week. New owner, some thi is new and some things old. love that they kept the seaglass tables.

    Good selection of craft beers

Nice place for a drink and a meal. The menu is varied and the sandwiches (blue smashburger and pulled pork) we had were excellent. The potato salad was delicious and I would highly recommend the Saffron mussels!

Stopped by Roadside Bar for dinner with a group of friends. They have a covered outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area. We were quickly sat. Their menu is pretty limited and doesn't offer much variety in my opinion. I was able to try several dishes on the menu. Clam Chowder: This was pretty disappointing. It was served lukewarm and lacked any strong seafood flavor. Carolina Muddle: looking at this on the menu, I thought this would be solid. It was a pretty light Cajun flavor and needed more of a kick and spice. We added hot sauce afterwards which made it a little better. This was just okay. The clams tasted off to me. It was definitely a muddle. I had a bite of the duck and that was by far the most decent dish on the menu. My friend ordered it well done and it was still tender. This was a pretty average and disappointing meal. Everything tasted under seasoned and mid. For the price point, I expected much better in taste and amount of food.

Had a good ole time at Roadside Bar and Grill out in Duck, NC. Pretty much a quick drive or bike ride if your staying at one of the beach houses. My group very much enjoyed our meal. Seafood was in abundance at this dinner. Favorite dishes were the Carolina Muddle and Clam Chowder. Chowder was so good that we had to get a bowl to go. Service was good. Our waitress was super fun and knew the menu well. Made some great suggestions for the more indecisive people in the group. This place has a back area filled with bars and live music. Didn't get a chance to go in but it looked like people were having a rockin time.

He was initially warm and as we ordered, asked that he let us know if we inadvertently selected a dish containing pork. The dishes arrived with astonishing speed. The Caesar salad had some unidentified fried object on it and when I asked the waiter, he let me know it was pork rinds. He did not acknowledge that it was an error and flippantly suggested I remove them. I asked for a plate to put them on. The waiter's demeanor turned cold after this (what I considered innocuous) exchange. Regarding the dishes, everything was beautifully presented and arrived hot and fresh at our table. I would not recommend the fried cauliflower as it was very bland with some chili sauce splashed over top. The scallops were very well prepared however. NC Coast is a nice spot for a special meal, especially with the view. Just hope the service is more consistent with other guests.

The night we went out for BBQ, we noticed this brightly colored little building called Sooey's BBQ. A+ Service - Our waitress, Denise, was fantastic! Friendly and serviced our table like a ninja! A++ Food - Amazingly delicious food. I had the BBQ pulled pork platter with green beans, mac & cheese and a sweetened tea. The tea was like the kind brewed in the sun with the perfect amount of sugar and lemon. The pork and the sides were as you expect authentic southern Bbq - savory and rich! The portions were ideal. However just for review purposes, know that it's a little bit pricey based on using plastic cutlery lol. For the 3 of us each getting platters, with 2 sides each and drinks, our bill was a little over $60. Overall, you do not want to skip this place if you are craving delicious bbq! You won't be sorry.

Again, we waited a bit for his return. He explained the special's and took our drink and appetizer order. It took quite a while for an alcoholic drink to arrive. As a matter of fact, the appetizer showed up first. He apologized and said if it wasn't ready soon, he'd stare at the bartender until it was made. Keep in mind, we were sitting at a high top across from the bar. While I was waiting for my drink, I saw one of the two bartenders come from the bar and take an order at the table that sat a good 10 minutes after us. Note, still no drink. Fast forward to the food. It was great! Everything was prepared well and tasted great. Oh, and yes my drink finally arrived. My biggest issue with this place is the credit card fee. I understand seeing this in some places, but when you charge $36 bucks for a double shot of bourbon, there shouldn't be an additional fee applied! To be fair to the server, he did stay on top of things, once we received everything, and he was a nice guy.
