Really disappointing experience. We had a reservation for 15 people, but the tables weren't set up for our group we had to add a table as one was too small. There were no chips or bread or anything to start, and we had to ask for refills. The food wasn't good either. I got the Boar Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes were okay but needed seasoning, and the meatloaf tasted like sausage and was nasty. Overall, not a good experience.

If you're lucky enough to get an outside table overlooking the coastal water, you're in business. The view especially at sunset is spectacular. The outside patio is partially screened in so you don't get a whole lot of bugs bothering you. The service was very good and our server routinely stopped by checking on us. All the menu items were very good although the flounder whole fish required lots of bone picking. Other than that, our experience here at Village Table and Tavern was very good and we will come back again in the future.

There is a reason this place is always packed. The bar area is huge and you can reserve a spot at the bar from what I observed. Do not go by the Drink Menu on their website because it will show you a small amount of what they offer. The beer selection was just right. To my surprise they had Old Speckled Hen, I don't think I've seen it at a bar or restaurant outside the UK. Naturally I had to order it since it is a favorite of mine. The bar is very well stocked. My wife had an Old Fashion and loved it. During the summer months expect it to be loud but not obnoxiously loud. I ordered the fish fry and it was fantastic. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits. She found it tasty, however she thought it was more corn than grits. (This is the reason for 4 stars not 5). This is a must stop when in Duck. They do Dinner Reservations but lunch is walk in only, you will have a wait but it will be worth it.

Great service, delicious food and drinks and gorgeous sunset on the back porch! Our server was friendly and timely. We started with the garlic shrimp which was flavorful and delicious. I had the pan seared scallops which were cooked perfectly (melted in your mouth) and my husband had the wild boar meat loaf which he said was excellent! We finished with the ice cream sandwich....yum and I got an espresso martini. Good portion sizes!

I will start with how we were a little early for our reservation and seated right away. Our server was friendly, kept drinks full and made jokes with us. We were all pleased with our service. The food is what I was disappointed with. the menu changed a lot since the last time I was here last year. It is more expensive and the fried pickles, burger and chicken sandwich are no longer available in the dining room. It seems they now serve food in a different part of the restaurant that is more casual. Maybe outside? Not quite sure. Other items are fully removed. Either way, the food we received was just ok. Drinks & Apps: the margaritas were enjoyed by both friends. I did not find a cocktail I wanted - they all had bitters! We tried the special ribs with peach bbq sauce appetizer, which was pretty good. The calamari was very good. Entrees: 1. shrimp pasta dish: While the shrimp was good, the pasta and sauce was bland. Very little flavor to be honest. 2. Whole roasted fish: initially the fish was a bit fishy, but digging in further it was decent. Nothing special. 3. The New York strip: the steak had unrendered fat but otherwise good flavor. The potatoes were a bit greasy on the outside. It needs a veg to lighten up the dish. For dessert we ordered 2 cheesecake and the peach cobbler. It took a while to get dessert and I was very disappointed that the cobbler was cold. You expect cobbler to be warm. I will say the chai spiced ice cream was good. The cheesecake said served with fresh berries but instead came out with some kind of sauce which seemed to be raspberry. I'm not sure if I will be back for the dining room. High prices for food that wasn't that good.

Solid waterfront restaurant with one of the best sunset views I've ever seen. In previous years you could only order drinks outside on their patio by the water, but this year they've expanded the service to provide a limited menu for outdoor dining in case sitting up on the balcony of the restaurant isn't close enough of a view to the water, or if you want to let the kids run around while you enjoy your meal. Food options here are mostly hits, casual fare that's elevated pub-style food with a few higher end dishes available if you sit inside (or order it to-go and take it out back). They have probably one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had, their hush puppies are also stand outs. Service is friendly, but if you want to sit inside I'd definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Live music happens outside which adds a nice ambiance to the view as well.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday and was surprised at how empty it was during high season. Menu is limited but everyone was happy with the choices with minor changes. The food was ok but the bar drinks were awesome. The prices are a bit higher but has a nice atmosphere.

Ambiance was great, food tasted pretty good, portion size on the fish fry was horrible. Lucky if I got 2oz of fish. 2 tiny pieces of catfish and a plate full of fries for $24 was definitely not worth it. Service was good though.

Food was delicious and our waiter was super nice and made great recommendations for the kids. It was so awesome getting a table on the sound side. Very relaxing. Will definitely come back.

We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint!
