I ordered 2 plain hot dogs, onion rings and a milk shake.When I got home there was ketchup, mustard, onions, sauerkraut etc on the hot dogs. I called, the girl who gave them to me at pick up asked the cook if he put stuff on the hot dogs. She then said there was nothing she could do. I said I need 2 plain hot dogs. She said it would take 5 minutes and I went back. She asked for the wrong ones they originally gave me. I advised I left them home. She said she needs them.I said I have to run home to get them. I went home and returned the hot dogs they had made wrong. She was cutting me off when I tried to advise how poor this was on their behalf. To send me back a 3rd time for a mistake they made. She cut me off and lied that she didn't know I had to go home and get the wrong hot dogs. I clearly told her I would have to go back to get them. 3 trips and attitude costing just shy of 20 dollars. Unbelievable. I called and left a message that I am sure will be deleted, she said to reach the owner I call they same number. Very poor customer service. read more

Sometimes you just really want a good hot dog, and it's kind of an elusive thing to find. Our search on our trip to Connecticut led us to The Hot Dog Palace. It's definitely a dive, but it serves its purpose...and a delicious classic hot dog. Plus the food is super cheap. The fries were fresh and crispy and the onion rings were goooood! And they refill drinks. I don't know about you, but I need an unrestrained amount of Diet Coke to enjoy my fast food. Stop by here for a cheap lunch if you're in the area. OH! The mustard in the containers on the tables is gourmet, deli mustard. They know how to respect a dog. read more

I have to say I was a little put off when I saw that they deep fry their dogs instead of grilling but I do have to admit it was still a decent dog. I got the Texas dog which has chili, cheddar and onion. I slapped on some of my own Kosciusko spicy brown mustard to complete it. I've had better dogs (they were grilled) but this dog wasn't bad. I probably won't go back because of the deep frying though...To me that's hot dog blasphemy! read more

Great roadside stand. Just stopped in and ordered 2 slaw dogs with added raw onion and mustard......excellent!! Just enough creamy slaw on them and not messy. Waitress /counter person was very friendly and service was prompt. read more

The chili cheese dog wasn't bad however the chili did not amaze me in any way. The cheddar looked like the ones you buy in the stores with the Individual packaging. The place is really a grab and go spot. I wouldn't make any special trips. Figured I would stop by to check it out but there was nothing special about this place. Slightly disappointed and frankly feeling a bit awkward. We've ordered food from here before for delivery yet this time we were missing an order of fries and one drink. We called the hot dog palace and they weren't able to help and offered us the manager's phone number, his name is Karl. Karl informed us that the fries were inside the our drinks which were delivered. We opened the drinks and there were no fries inside. So now I still have no fries, no refund and I'm feeling a bit soggy. read more

Love the comfort food and the atmosphere right down to the little red plastic baskets. Great food. We're regular orderers of steak and cheese, curly fries, and a bowl of chili. The service is always pleasant and they get everything right. Prices are awesome, hours are good, plenty of seating and parking. read more

Nothing to do with the food but the attitude of the owner. I ordered a Greek salad for takeout I get back to my office it is a Caesar salad. Mistakes happen but it's all about how they are rectified. The person at the counter was arguing with me that I ordered the Cesar and made no attempt to rectify the situation. I know this sounds petty but it's all about going the extra effort to keep your customers happy read more

Classic Bethel waypoint, the latest owners are doing a pretty good job. Nothing fancy about the stand, but over the years, they've added more climate controlled seating while maintaining seasonal outdoor tables. All of it comfortable and clean, both get pretty warm when the sun is strong. The menu is extensive for a dog stand, but pretty standard fair for a sandwich grill type of spot. Very high value here, pricing is great, serving are generous. Bevs are a skimpy and more costly, but a fair tab no matter what the situation. Salads are fresh, footlong dogs are big and loaded with toppings and the chili is standard Fairfield County dry with lots of spices. Some greek items dot the menu and the staff is super friendly. If you need cloth napkins and chairs maid of hardwood with linen table clothes, don't even bother looking over from Rt 6 traffic. But for a hearty American lunch or simple dinner, bring your appetite and enjoy the visit. read more
