Stopped in for an after dinner coffee at Roaming Goat Coffee last night. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, artwork and selections of coffee. While intimate, the place was large and I could easily see sitting down with a laptop for a couple of hours without feeling pressure to move or crowded. The place had LOTs of outlets for phones devices. Right on High Street in Short North, you need to give this place a visit. It's on the "Columbus Coffee Experience" trail, so get your stamp! read more

Smaller shop but some really nice waiters, sadly I got the wrong order but it was still decent. I think being in the short north it would have been nice to have more space to sit that wasn't right by where people come in and out. read more

My favorite coffee shop in the SN. Very very consistent flavor wise. The espresso machine goes down and they warn you, but the Chai is still fabulous even if it isn't dirty that particular day . Pet friendly, family friendly. They do not currently have any extra masks out for customers and you 10000% cannot enter without a mask. So-- be masked!!! read more

Stopped by on the last day of my trip. A great little coffee shop in downtown Columbus. There are few sitting spaces in there. The barista was very friendly and nice to talk to. The coffee is also pretty good. They have street pay parking in front of the store. read more

I only had the drip coffee which was really good quality. Was planning on staying to do some homework but the service and environment weren't super friendly. I'd stop in again if I were in the area but probably wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip back. read more

I've only been here once and if I could figure out how to make it here every day, I would. I absolutely loved my honey latte - it sounds super weird but let me tell you, it's incredible. I'm not even a honey person (why did I order it? It sounded neat, sorry not sorry). The person behind the counter was very friendly as we asked questions about the drink menu. We ended up sitting inside to drink our coffee. It's a nice quiet spot to work but you don't feel uncomfortable having a softer conversation. read more

Very proud of this establishment for doing a great job with social distancing during this time. Only 5 people were allowed in the place at once and the person working cleaned off anything used to pay every time. The coffee was good! I don't know coffee well enough to say anything besides that. The person working didn't seem thrilled to be there, which I guess I wouldn't be during the current circumstances. Will be back though! read more

This was one of the best cold brews I've ever had. I loved it! The place is cute and in a good area. We went back every morning. Would have given 5 stars but one of the baristas was very rude. Impero has recently been renamed to Roaming Goat coffee. The barista explained to me that they were actually bought out about a year ago, but the shop didn't really begin to start implementing any changes until now. Overall, it's a pretty solid study spot--plenty of outlets, nice sturdy spots, plenty of bar seats, etc. The space is a little smaller than some better study spots around town (Roosevelt, Brioso, etc.) but neverthess, it's a nice clean space. As for the coffee options, they're ok. The daily brew was the Panama when I went in. It was pretty balanced, not too fruity, not to dark, pretty average for a boutique coffee shop. They don't have a crazy amount of drink options, just the typical ones you see (pourovers, espresso drinks). The most unique item on the list is the honey latte, but it honestly seems to me that every place seems to have a honey latte these days, so it wasn't anything too exciting. Baristas can be a little snarky as I've noticed with many of the Columbus coffee shops, but I wouldn't count that against them since this really seems to be the norm these days. This is my favorite place to go in The Short North. I had their Tanzania AB Mondule Estate with cupping notes of dark chocolate, citrus, with a creamy mouthfeel. They roast their own coffee in Westerville and their coffees can be found in local grocery stores that they have contracts with! Their coffee is balanced, not too acidic. The shop itself is small, rustic, clean, and simple. Their tin roof is extremely unique! Dog friendly. Sit at the counter and feel free to chat and learn from the baristas! read more

Good little cafe in short north, could use some more ambience to make the environment few more relaxed and laid back. Currently feels a little formal, business casual, a little uptight if you know what I mean. But I like my cafes to be laid back, decorated, warm and inviting rather than super clean and plain Jane BUT to each their own! Still a good shop! read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in the great state of Ohio. I used to make special trips to this cafe whenever I came through town, but when I got a contracting job in an office three doors down from here, that's when this marriage was solidified. I was such a regular during that time that it seemed strange any days I did not go to Impero. Now, living on the other side of the globe, it's pretty rare I get to revisit my fav caffeine hole, but on my recent trip home I was happy to see they're still kicking. They roast all their own coffee beans so everything's fresh and delicious. I've quickly become addicted to their americanos -- perhaps because of the high quality, home-roasted beans, or perhaps because a medium one of these babies packs FOUR shots of espresso.There's high-speed wifi, outlets, and good lighting -- great for the workaholic. Impero recently expanded their space, adding a second room of couches to the cafe. Available food is from Pattycake (pretentious GF bakery I do not support) and Lavash (amazing Mediterranean cafe you should totally check out). Impero is a Columbus staple, and a great coffee shop to while away the hours with a great cup of coffee. Pro Tip: For the social media whores out there, every 8th check-in on Foursquare gets you a free coffee. read more

I have visited here once and had a great experience. The interior was neat and clean. The barista was very friendly and worked fast. I was surprised they only had one person working on a Saturday but he did a great job. We did have to wait a few minutes though. I didn't mind since we were not in a hurry. The menu selection was pretty good. There were some cool daily specials. I am not much of a coffee drinker but we decided to stop by and get an iced mocha. It tasted great. I don't really have any complaints. I probably won't be frequently visiting since I don't drink coffee all that much. I would not mind coming back though. read more

I think it's about time I update my review since Impero has now officially transformed into Roaming Goat! I have to say, the changes to the coffee shop are beautiful. Impero was great, but a little outdated. Roaming Goat introduced some updates that I think make it a little more competitive with newer coffee shops in the area. I love the new tin ceiling, the trendy bar, and the improvements to the seating arrangements. While the decor has changed, the quality of the coffee has remained constant. Also, the bagels are delicious! I'm not sure where they get them from, but the everything bagel is to die for. I've really grown to love this place, especially the fact that it never gets too busy. No matter what time of day I wander in, I'm always able to find a cozy seat (and I can't say this for many other coffee shops in town). Roaming Goat has become one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. I'm sure I'll be back soon! read more

Loved this quaint little place! The barista was so friendly and chipper for 7 am & the honey latte and the cold brew were both phenomenal. Wasn't really sure what to expect, I was just looking for some coffee on my way to school, but it was on par with the short north vibes. Will be back to stay a while sometime. I got the honey latte and it's a solid 4/5, it's not overly sweet. There is plentiful of seating and it's typically not too busy so you should be able to find a seat to do work or chat with friends. To use the bathroom, there is a key and it's in a hallway to the left. Overall, this coffee shop offers a lot of varieties from drinks to snacks/baked goods. read more

I have been wanting to try more local coffee shops recently and get away from going to my usual - Starbucks. Overall I enjoyed Roaming Goat, however I'm still on the hunt for the best cold brew / iced coffee in town. Just wanted to give a quick review of the Mayan Mocha which is great if you like things a little spicy. It's made with chocolate, cinnamon, Himalayan pink salt, vanilla, and just the right amount of cayenne pepper to give it a spicy kick. Perfect on a cold day. It was delicious! read more

ROAMING GOAT is a local roaster that took over the old Short North Impero Coffee space. ROAMING GOAT roasts are used all over town in these quant quirky eclectic shops and that's how I learned of ROAMING GOAT to begin with. They are a strong competitor with amazing roasts. I'm impressed and pressed with their product....I have absolutely nothing negative to identify.... To have taken over the Impero space in The Short North had given the neighborhood a noticeable stretch from the occupants in the old space. The space just doesn't have the draw for me. It's so different and not in what I would identify as positives. read more

I've been here twice now and I love the space! Most recently I had a matcha latte because the espresso machine was down, and it was perfect - not overly sweet, but just the right amount to make the matcha not overwhelming. Baristas are funny too. Love the name! read more

Nice little coffee shop. Hours online said they were closed, but we walked in at 4:50pm on. Friday afternoon. I had their chai latte- delicious- and my husband had a breve latte- he said it was nice and strong! If you're looking for a great latte with really rude service, almost cliché of a douchey, hipster, long beard, hair in a bun barista... this is the place! Go in, know what you want and don't ask any questions if you don't want a rude reply and being ignored until he rings up six people and then starts to make your coffee. read more

This is a place open on Thanksgiving morning so I came. I was thinking to get a pour-over but they said it's going to take 15 mins so I gave up and got a fresh brew instead. Very sour, not my cup of coffee. And the only sweet bites they have are packed muffins and cookies in plastic wraps. read more

We visited as part of the Columbus coffee experience and their house blend was our favorite of all the stops we made. They serve good coffee, I'm into that. This is even including the decaf, which a lot of shops around Columbus neglect. If you're not into coffee, they have an exceptional selection of loose leaf teas. (Keeping in mind that they're a coffee shop first and foremost.) They don't do blended drinks, and the selection of flavored syrups is limited. If you're looking for a sugar high masquerading as coffee, this isn't your shop. All in all, a great shop made even better by the recent renovations greatly improving the aesthetic. read more

I got settled at a table to knock out my to do list and some meetings and decided to try the mango matcha...delish! It was so creamy and not too sweet. I also tried a pastry and can't remember the name of it, but it was good too. It was a cloudy day, but I still sat by the window to soak up any sun I could. Definitely adding them to my list of remotes working spots :)

I've never had a pistachio flavored drink, so I was a little hesitant, but wow, I'm glad I ordered it! The matcha base wasn't overly sweet nor was the pistachio foam overly salty. Perfect mix of sweet and savory. Even thought the line was out the door, it moved at a decent pace and our drinks didn't take too long to receive. Surprisingly, they had lots of options available even with my late arrival because most bakeries run out of items quickly. They sell croissants, cakes, milk breads, macarons, drinks, etc. MY ORDER ($18.95 total for 4 items) -- Twist Donut ($2.95), Sweet Frank Roll ($4.50), Almond Croissant ($4.75), and a Whole Milk Loaf bread ($6.75). 1. Twist donut ($2.95) - sweet but not overly sweet. It tasted just like a regular twist donut that you'll find at other donut shops. 2. Sweet Frank Roll ($4.50) - good. Perfect savory option for breakfast or lunch. Soft and buttery bread base. I think $3 would have been a better price but the bread roll was good. I ate this in my car before driving back to Cleveland. It held me over until I got home. 3. Almond Croissant ($4.75) - my favourite item - buttery with some almond cream or paste inside. Topped with almonds. I don't like creamy things at all and I didn't realize that this croissant had a cream inside until I opened it but the cream is very light and it is more of a spread than a cream. 4. Whole Milk Loaf Bread ($6.75) - Fresh and soft. Definitely my other favourite item. This was all gone within a day, that's how good it was. Buttery goodness. The best bread. Overall, I enjoyed visiting Tous Les Jours and I hope to visit their Cleveland location soon. I ordered takeout so I didn't sit in but they have some tables and chairs available. The barista lack social skills and are arrogant. I waited almost 10 minutes for a drink with no apologies from staff. They need to learn how to service the customer that is in front of them paying and ordering. I frequent local coffee shops and look for a few qualities. Taste, Temperature, Service, Price, Location, Parking, Friendliness of Staff, Decor. If it wasn't for the poor service that I received I would have considered going back. Grade F! read more

I come here a lot and never have I had a bad cup of coffee. They never burn it (which is so rare- take note, coffee shops of Columbus!), I love that they use Snowville creamery, and the service is always on top of it. Best coffee roaster in town. read more

A guy was actually walking his two dogs and was going through the line on foot. Not something on the bingo card, but hats off to Third Way for accommodating. And me being me, I forgot my water bottle and they kept it behind the counter when I came back to get it later. They didn't answer the phone or return my message, but a small place, small staff, I can see how it might have slipped the mind. My brother lives nearby, was a bit hesitant on the area, but we were fine. The parking lot could use some pot holes filled but, that isn't why you come here. Coffee is smooth and freshly brewed.
