Honey latte with a blueberry poptart
    Laura F.

Experience Columbus has a coffee trail, and we try to hit one coffee place each weekend. Today's destination was "The Roaming Goat" which is located inside the Short North neighborhood of downtown Columbus. Parking was easily found directly outside the shop The spot is metered but you dont need coins as its all app based and easy to pay. However, the meters downtown are free on Sundays so parking was free! We walked inside. I found the interior very basic. Thats not a slam... its just what it is. This is not your quaint, cozy, or stay for hours place. It is very utilitarian. Get your coffee, drink your coffee and get on with your day kind of place. Its made up of mostly counters that run along the perimeter of the shop with accompanying barstools. There were two upholstered chairs, but they were directly next to the trash can and the front door, which was not ideal. So, we chose not to sit there and found a little nook that had a counter with three chairs, so we found that kind of quiet, private place to enjoy coffee. The coffee!!! Yum. It was really very good. He likesI got a honey cinnamon oat-milk latte that made me say mmmmmm way more than my husband cared to hear. They also have items from Patty-cake bakery and the pop tarts from Happy Little Treats. Omg if you haven't had one of those pop tarts-you are missing out! We purchased a blueberry one for latter and split a cranberry pecan one at the shop. (They are big). While we were there 4+ customers came in with their dogs. So it's super dog friendly. Which is so nice to see. We will be back maybe with our fur baby! 5 out of 5 stars. A great place for a quick cup of coffee!

I stopped in after lunch before hitting the road for a much needed pick me up. I was about to get a regular iced mocha when I saw the Mayan mocha and switched it up. I'm so glad I did because this drink was so god. I've had something similar with mocha, cayenne, cinnamon maybe... not sure what else, but their version worked so well... even iced. I would absolutely order this again and might even try to recreate it at home.

Dropping by for a quick update. This has recently become my favorite coffee shop in the Short North. I've noticed that they have new staff. The two ladies I've been greeted by every time I come in are so sweet and they work their asses off. I've legit seen the line damn near out the door and they hustle.. Sometimes there's only one of them. Then they go into superspeed mode. Hint hint, give 'em a raise! The coffee is consistent, they have fun seasonal flavors, the wi-fi is strong, there's a ton of great natural light, and it's nice to people watch while getting some work done. They have a few treats behind the counter from other local businesses in town (often bagels and poptarts), rotating local art up on the walls for sale, and a good amount of seating, even a lounge area. I also like that they have signage up outside that says they are a safe space for everyone regardless of race, sex, all the things. Definitely makes you feel welcome. Oh, and they're dog friendly too! Over the years I've watched this spot transform and it's nice to see the small improvements they've made and how it's made a huge, positive, impact on the experience. Y'all are killin' it!

Hot coffee after a rainy walk in the Short North Districf

On a cross country road trip from New a York to AZ, our first night was in Columbus. Next morning I woke up and had to walk the dog. I love to visit old-town parts of cities. It was chilly and rainy and quiet - just a few days before Christmas. I stumbled upon Roaming Goat and felt the rush of hospitality with Serenity at the helm. I was able to get dry, sip a great cup of coffee in peace and we chatted a bit about life in Columbus. Highlight of my time in that city!

What a cute, cozy, and bright little shop! A little gem of a coffee shop. First time here and I got a largeButterfly Latte, which has lavender and honey. This was made well, but I wish I tasted more lavender, it wasn't strong enough to stand out, but overall still good. My friend got the small Horchata Latte, which tastes how it sounds. It was sweet and creamy, made well! Both were delicious and unique! Our total was about $12 before tip, which isn't too bad. The cafe was clean, bright, and spacious. Our barista was kind and helpful! It was almost closing time, so there weren't many people inside, but there were people working and hanging out. I would recommend for coffee, tea, and other cafe products!

Great quick spot for drip coffee! Staff welcomed us on entering. The place was kinda packed for a weekday afternoon; perhaps due to the free WiFi with password posted (a little slow though maybe because of traffic).

Best coffee shop in the short north. Knowledgeable staff, quality ingredients, and relaxing atmosphere.

First experienced this delicious coffee when we purchased some beans on-line back in March. Loved it so much. Had to come and buy some more coffee beans while in town visiting family in June. Thank you, Miles, for taking care of us when we came in person to your store. We sampled the cold brew and their seasonal latte iced. This is a little coffee house with some inside seating and a water bowl for dogs. Thank you for keeping us caffeinated.

I recently started visiting Roaming Goat, and I keep going back. The interior isn't all that unique, it's kind of plain and is on the bottom floor of a much larger building. I like to visit in the afternoons when coffee shops are less busy. I also try not to rely on caffeine to wake up in the morning. Usually, when I come in, there are a few folks working on their laptops at the chairs that line the window-walled single room. There are a couple of comfy chairs to the left and the rest are high-top style. The restroom has a key which is attached to a large spoon, which is kind of gross, but I believe it's just to make things easier on the barista as far as keeping it open for customers only. The baristas working are always super nice-- I usually end up chatting with them for a bit about one thing or another. The main reason I keep coming back though is because the coffee is very good and priced reasonably. My favorite is their Fire Water cold brew, which is made with beans aged in a bourbon barrel, which are then roasted to remove the alcohol. The coffee retains the bourbon flavor, and it's so good!!! Especially for someone like me who is always looking for a way to make my coffee interesting without adding any sugar. I usually go for the 24 oz size with room for half and half and it's $5. Roaming Goat has definitely become my go-to spot on High St. Still waiting for them to get the bags of fire water beans back in so I can brew it at home. The barista was kind enough to give me advice on how to do it and I'm excited to try! Every bourbon/coffee fan neeeeds to try it.

Cutesy coffee shop that offers all your caffeine needs -- lattes, cappuccino and of course coffee. I tried their iced vanilla latte, and it's consistent! Smooth, not too sweet, delicious. Definitely try out this local coffee shop.

Found this little shop on a yelp local coffee email I got a few months ago and had written it down because the reviews said it has great cold brew and my husband loves cold brew and trying local coffee shops. It did not disappoint. The cold brew is great. My hubby loved it. Said it didn't have the "bite" that some coffee has. I got the honey latte (iced obviously, because it was literally almost 100 degrees today) and it was delish! Not too sweet, but very refreshing. And I'm not even reallt a huge coffee person. We will definitely have to come back and try hot drinks when it's not so hot outside.

Granted the extremely late delivery wasn't the restaurant's fault (necessarily)... However, because they use Door Dash for delivery, they're ultimately responsible by proxy. Add in that the delivery driver spoke no English, tried to kick our English Staffy who ran out whilst smiling to say "hi" (if you know anything about Staffy's, you know they love people and don't have a mean bone in their body), our food was cold because it was delivered 1.5 hours late, and I was about to lose my flipping mind. Now onto the food... These were quite honestly some of the worst subs we've ever had. Subway is miles ahead of this hot garbage, and it's not remotely close. The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. PS - If I ever run into Cosmic Dave, he's going to get a piece of my mind for charging people $ for this crap.

It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich...
