This location has a ton of seating both inside and outside. Let's face it, Florida is hot, so my wife and I never sit outside. We are always making a point to go inside. We also always use the mobile ordering on the app, we find a table, sit down and wait for the food to be ready. Using the app is so much easier, but if you want a lot of customizations, you need to go to the register to order. One of the other perks about Backlot, they are one of the few locations that have fill your own drink station, aka you can get refills. Most days there are people also filling their own bottles with water at the station. I don't love this for sanitary reasons, but the ice goes faster as it cannot keep up with the demand of purchased drinks and personal bottles. Food options are typical theme park: hamburgers, and chicken tenders. However, they do have different items such as a General Tso's bowl, Cuban sandwich and more. I personally love the General Tso's bowl, it's filling and very tasty. This location almost always offers specialty items, such as holiday treats and Star Wars themed items. It is usually a dessert and a cocktail. They are also a location for one of Disney's sauced chicken tenders which came out awhile ago. Disney created a ton of different sauced tenders around their property. Backlot has the honey buffalo which are really delicious. My wife and I have had them a few times. I do hope these stay. Sometimes a chicken tender just hits right! Overall, I would say this is a great place for families, lunch and quick bites. They usually offer specialty items as well. Most recently we went for the Star Wars themed items which included a cocktail and a cupcake. Both were very good. My go-to meal is the Hot Honey Chicken with Sweet Potato Fries ($12.99). The chicken is perfectly crispy with just the right balance of sweetness and heat from the hot honey sauce. The portion size is surprisingly generous for a theme park meal and easily keeps me full. The Cajun-spiced sweet potato fries are packed with flavor, but the real star is the olive relish that comes with the dish. It adds such a unique, tangy kick that takes everything to the next level. This is one of the best snacks I've had at Disney World, Definitely top 10! Unfortunately it is a seasonal option so probably won't be there on our next trip. As a counter service option, I recommend Mobile Order whenever possible but there wasn't a wait when we decided to try them. During peak meal times you will want to use the Mobile Order option. The only downside to this location is there is very limited seating which is shared with Storybook Treats. Even at non peak times you will regularly see people standing around waiting for a table to become available.

The decor is designed like something out of the 50s which I like. The cast members that we interacted with were all very nice. The food was delicious and I was glad that they had a gluten free option for me. I loved that for my birthday treat they brought me some gluten free cookies since they normally do a cupcake. I think just the tight space is the only thing I didn't like too much. Other than that it was a lovely experience and I loved being so close to the castle.
