Unfortunately I am far from impressed. I had gone in to order some tea and wait for my party. Having only a gift card. They said I had to use the mobile app. On attempts to try. The option to order tea was not available. And not to mention an elderly lady was there with her grandchild. And the quick service "Cast Members" refused to wait on her at first. It's not trying to be fine dining, so it's not fair to compare it to that. It's a glorified snack bar, and as such it does quite well. There is a nice selection of food from tasty but bad for you, all the way to healthy and yummy. Hot meals are divided into two station areas which (though a little confusing at first) cuts down on the lines quite a bit. It doesn't have a huge seating area, although I've never be stuck without a table. So I guess they have enough. Check out the Micky Waffles in the morning. They are great. Okay, can't move. Damage has been done... Just ate here so I may as well type until I can get up, again. Regardless of where I'm staying on property I make the effort to hit "The Roaring Fork" located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Wilderness Lodge has a turn-of-the-century theme, so the dining area at The Roaring Fork has that classic 'camping' feel to it. Every hotel has their own little, quick-bite eatery with certain hallmarks that set one apart from the other. This one has a fantastic flatbread pizza that I find myself craving long after my vacation ends. Just ask what the Chef's 'flat bread of the day' is and go with it! There's also a great little condiment bar that fosters my creative spirit! Lettuce, pickles, onions, tomato, you get the idea...Anyway, earlier today, my wife watched (rather judgmentally, I might add) as I created a franken-pizza to die for! The same bar of course lends itself well to burgers, BBQ sandwiches, etc. In addition to the aforementioned pizza, the Roast Beef & Blue sandwich is also excellent. There really are no bad choices, here. In fact, I've probably had everything on the menu, twice. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, the food is excellent and things are clearly well managed. If you're actually staying at this property, you're in for a reasonably priced treat. (See pic of menu below) If you're staying at a neighboring property and would like to visit, you can get to The Wilderness Lodge via a boat from Fort Wilderness, The Contemporary Hotel or Ticket and Transpo. You can also grab a bus from ticket and transpo or simply drive over. The wilderness lodge is particularly beautiful during Christmas. Have Fun! Keep in mind that this is a quick-bite eatery located just off the pool area. If you want more formal dining, that's of course available at a neighboring restaurant, right around the corner. It obviously said on the tag "breakfast platter" but when I got back to my hotel room and opened the box, it was a breakfast sandwich. For the last 8+ years, I've dined at Roaring Forks Snacks for lunch whenever I want to bypass the usual humdrum "burgers & chicken nuggets" that pervade Walt Disney World. If you're not a resort guest at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you might think the quick-service eatery is hard to find: Go all the way past the check-in desk toward the rear of the lodge, then jog left (you'll see a Disney Vacation Club desk there), then go down the REALLY LONG RAMP, then jog left again. Roaring Forks Snacks is to your left. Or if you're taking the free Disney boat (from Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort, or Ft. Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds), you will find Roaring Forks Snacks inside at the first building entrance within sight of the pool & waterfall. Because I'm old and curmudgeonly, I always get the same thing (don't we all?): the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese Sandwich ($11.29) - Yummm, to die for! - and Ken gets the Turkey and Swiss sandwich ($10.19). Nowhere else on Disney property will you find this AMAZING sandwich - a thick and aromatic focaccia bread slathered with buttermilk chive dressing, then lovingly embracing cool slices of roast beef, topped with grilled onion and crumbles of blue cheese (powerful stinky stuff). That's all I've eaten here, for 8+ years. Seriously! As a quick-service place, a Cast Member will deliver your sandwiches and other prepared foods to you. I prefer eating outside at one of the umbrella'd tables. You can listen to the nearby waterfall, watch the small lizards (brown anoles) doing push-ups on the rocks, admire the landscaping, and slyly feed the ducks (even though a sign says not to). PROS: - Healthy sandwiches (2016: Tuna Salad, Turkey & Swiss, or Roast Beef & Blue Cheese. Gone is the Ham & Cheddar Panini and the BBQ Pork & Slaw sandwich from just two years ago) - Healthy salads (2016: Wilderness Salad - served with chicken, walnuts, apples, cheddar, croutons & apple vinaigrette - or Caesar Salad with Chicken) - Nice seating area outside - Ducks and lizards (brown anoles) keep you company - Cast Members/employees are always very friendly and helpful CONS: - One of Disney's smaller self-service eateries. Lines move slowly and are sometimes long. - Inside seating feels claustrophobic (low ceilings and limited seating) - Very limited menu TIP: You can save $2.00 if you ask the cashier to skip the small bag of chips or the teeny-tiny cucumber salad that comes with the sandwiches. Woohoo! I'm going back to Disney World! Roaring Fork Cafe is the QSR (quick service restaurant) in Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Returning to our hotel to escape the sweltering midday heat for a bit, the girlfriend & I decided it was also a good time to grab some lunch. Roaring Fork Cafe is basically a self-serve cafeteria-style restaurant. While there are a good number of food stations & decent selection, the room where the food is chosen, prepped & purchased is cramped & utterly chaotic when crowded. The line for the sandwich & salad station we were going to was slow & it took a while to get our food. I got a Roast Beef & Blue Cheese Sandwich with House-made Chips & the girlfriend got the Territory Salad & a side of Chili. My sandwich was pretty good, though the roast beef was a little dry. The House-made Chips were excellent. I had a few bites of the the girlfriend's salad & chili. The salad was fresh & tasty. The chili was good, but bland to my taste for chili (I like spicy). For a QSR, the service may not be too quick, but Roaring Fork Cafe is the place to get reasonably good food available at convenient times inside Disney's Wilderness Lodge. read more

The newly renovated Roaring Fork is definitely on my list of favorite quick service breakfasts! The Nutella stuffed French toast is a must try, but I would suggest sharing it (it's too sweet for one person to finish alone). The corned beef hash was very flavorful, and was my favorite dish. We also tried a bear claw, which is essentially a cinnamon bun, and it was also very good. The inside seating area is smaller than other Disney resort quick service restaurants, but still managed to handle a decent number of people. The food was a little slow to come out but our burger and fries were hot and fresh making it worth the wait. The campfire cupcake was possibly the best cupcake I've ever had. That's right! Five Stars for a quick service restaurant. "Why?", you ask. Because Roaring Forks does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it very well. If you stay at a Disney Resort one of your comps is a cool insulated commuter mug with one of those revolving door lids that helps prevent spills but allows you to take a drink by sliding a little lever. OK, it's a giant sippy cup and it rules! It will also end up being your most prized possession by the third day of your trip. Roaring Forks is where you redeem and fill up your mug if you are staying in Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort. I don't know why but it is oh so satisfying to walk into Roaring Forks, fill up your mug with the beverage of choice (and there are a lot of choices) and then strut past everyone waiting in line giving them the "That's right biotches, I don't have to pay" look. Beyond the unlimited gallons of carbonated joy you and your mug will share, Roaring Forks is also perfect because of convenience. If you are on a dining plan it can be the difference between filling your evenings with Disney Signature Dining Experiences and settling for a theme park hamburger. Several items served at Roaring Forks qualify as a snack (which you get two per day if you are on a dining plan) so a bagel and bottled water might be all you need to get you started without wasting a meal. My favorite snack was the yogurt parfait that is prepared fresh every morning. I fell for the elderly Cuban woman that so lovingly mixed yogurt, fresh berries and granola in a cup for me. In fact I think my mug got a little jealous when I offered to take her home to California so I could start every morning with her wonderful creamy concoction. Don't worry, the mug and I are still tight. As if the mug, the convenience and the meals disguised as snacks aren't enough, I must also sing the praises of the accoutrements of Roaring Forks. In the dining room area there is a wall filled with toasters, microwaves and just about every condiment you can imagine. I'm not talking ketchup, mustard salt and pepper. What do you want on your toast? Butter, jam (in several flavors) honey, PEANUT BUTTER? All in perfect little single serving tubs. Oh and did I mention that they have a half dozen or so selections of tea bags in case you and your mug want something warm? There are plenty of paper plates and cups (you know, in case your mug gets lonely in the room while you are hitting the parks) as well as very sturdy plastic silverware so you can eat in a semi-civilized manner before you run for the red flag boat to the Magic Kingdom. Roaring Forks is open from 6:00 AM until midnight however the dining room area is open 24/7 in case you need to consume a few servings of peanut butter to hold you until morning. read more

The Grilled Northwest Chicken Sandwich (with Canadian Bacon, Wilderness Sauce, and Cheddar, served with Cucumber Salad or French Fries) is a solid choice...as is the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese Sandwich (served with Cucumber Salad or House-made Chips). The cucumber salad is surprisingly good. Great flavors, good prices (around $8.99 or $9.99) and easy in and out service. You can't go wrong with visiting Roaring Fork. Grab a sandwich and head to a table by the pool. You'll be relaxed in no time. They have beer and wine, are open late and the food is always fresh. read more

A really good quick service option located within the Wilderness Lodge. Really good food, and reasonable prices. We had breakfast and lunch here. The bounty platter was beyond bountiful. And the croissant sandwich was I had was certainly enough for me. Mickey ear waffles. nough' said. The stand out for me, was the wilderness salad for lunch. One good salad can make you feel healthy again. So then I deserved the carrot cake muffin with cream cheese icing. Do you follow how that works? I can't recommend the Disney Dinning plan enough. But be aware that the portions are out of control so you can really share, even though they tell you not too. read more

We came in here only once on our 3rd stay at the Wilderness Lodge. It was late and we were hungry. The menu was not enticing but we had 2 orders of chicken nuggets with fries (8 nuggets) for $9.59 each. Didn't feel like having burgers and we really wanted corn dogs but they do not sell hot dogs here. The lines are long. You place your order and have to stand around waiting for them to cook it as there is no table service. Our old mugs which gave us unlimited soda refill are no longer valid. They now have a different mug system that only allows you unlimited refills for the number of days you have purchased their soda plan. read more

Food is decent, indoor/outdoor seating right by the pool and walkway to the boat dock. The staff is more than accommodating. Maybe my favorite part of this establishment is the name. Sometimes that's what I feel like is happening when trying to feed my son. If he were to just sit down or chew his food or...etc. There is some roaring and there is a fork. Anyhow, I enjoyed my food here. I know it's a Disney place and the selection is limited and the prices won't be low..but it's hard to beat at times. We sat outside with our 3 year old and 3 month old and didn't feel cramped. Ordering was easy and straight forward. Can't say we had anything spectacular or terrible. The kids meal option does come with a juice and two sides I believe which is nice. I didn't feel ripped off there. The rest of the place, as far as inside, looked like what you'd expect from a Disney Resort. Clean, organized, themed out, and full of fun things to either buy or eat or look at. Not sure I'd run back here right away but I can at least trust that I'll eat what they have here if we are nearby. read more

It pains me to say how awful my families experience was with this restaurant. We went Saturday evening (7/17) after a fun day at the parks. We go to order and my sister is a diabetic with a gluten allergy. Upon ordering she let the cast member ringing us up know about having diabetes and a gluten allergy. The CM asked the chef and he said yes the have GF so the CM rang us up and we went to await our meals. While waiting my sister noticed that a) the chef didn't come out to talk to her (they had at other restaurants) and 2 it didn't say it on her receipt so she asked a cast member that was grabbing orders to hand out to make sure they knew of her allergy. When this CM asked the chef the chef got angry and proceeded to say "it needs to be rang in that way!" And then asked my sister if it was really an allergy or a preference. Then basically made my sister feel awful and told her that she needed to tell the cashier about an allergy - which she had. After this it took about 35 minutes to receive the meal, hers was fresh but my nephews meal and my meal were cold at this point. It ended up being such an awful experience. Before we left the chef did come to our table and apologized but to me it really just destroyed the magic. I understand mistakes happen and yes the original cast member should have rang it in properly but the person with the allergy should not be made to feel like a burden. If you are looking for quick service, this is where you'll want to go. This is where you can also get your $15 dollar resort mug, which gives you unlimited refills of soda, tea, coffee throughout your stay. I was trying to calculate the break-even point, but no where could I find prices for drinks. All three meals can be had here and choices are limited, but food wasn't too bad. They were even able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy. At 2pm, they seem to do magic cookie hour where you get a free chocolate chip cookie and you get to decorate it with frosting and sprinkles. A fun thing to do if you are in the resort at that time. For overnight guests of Disney's Wilderness Lodge, this place is a no-brainer. It's nearly impossible to NOT grab a bite to eat at this Disney quick service restaurant. Seating is good, rustic decor is nice, and there is plenty of seating both indoor and also a few steps outdoor in the lodge courtyard. The menu is one of the best in the QS category. The service area is divided into three sections. One section is for deli type items. Another is for hot, freshly prepared items such as pastas, burgers, etc. The last section is an area to grab those "hands on" items such as drinks, fruit, chips, etc. A single checkout area for all three sections. Overall, this place is everything you'd want from a Disney QS restaurant... maybe even more. Though, I don't think it is so spectacular that it would draw in anyone who is not staying overnight at WL. Why only three stars? Late one night, on my last visit, I was the only person placing an order (with the exception of some folks coming in for snacks). Needless to say, the dinner rush was long gone, but I was still there an hour before closing. I ordered a chicken entree and it took 40 minutes to prepare. I thought this was an unacceptable amount of time. Here's the kicker: After 40 minutes, I still didn't get my chicken entree... I was told they were out of chicken! What??? It took 40 minutes to find out that the dish I was waiting on was unavailable??? Keep in mind that I was the only customer... it's not like they were busy. Crazy. So I did something foolish... I ordered a different entree, waited another 15 minutes, paid for it, and took it to my room. IMO, I should have never waited so long in the first place... I should have left. As for my second "replacement" entree... I feel it should have been free. Looking back, I kick myself for even pulling out my wallet. This ranks in my top five worst customer service experiences and I'm surprised that it happened at the happiest place on Earth. For that reason, I deduct two stars. Overall, this place probably deserves four stars... maybe five. For that single experience though, I'm not sure I can go higher than three. read more

We dined at the casual sit down service dining option as well but found this to be more convenient (especially with the take away option to bring back to the room). Dinner options are the standard quick service options - burger, chicken fingers, fries, pizza. Breakfast has Mickey shaped waffles covered with strawberries and a few other options including a croissant stuffed with egg, cheese and bacon. There is nothing amazing, but it is cheaper, quicker, you can take it back to your room and you don't need to worry about reservations. This was handy for our schedule and much easier to plan when traveling with children. read more

We ate at the roaring for for 3-4 breakfasts, 2-3 lunches, and 1 dinner. The breakfast food is generally standard Disney breakfast food that you can find across the property. I was happy that they had the tasty fruit and granola yogurt parfait in the beverage cooler. Their scrambled eggs were fine for me. I quickly learned that it was often easier (and healthier) just to order all breakfast items a la carte - their packaged meals are a lot of food, and my kids didn't need all the grease/carbs. Lunch is much better. The sandwich station makes some very good sandwiches. The roast beef and blue cheese sandwich is something I would love to be able to get once a week. Unfortunately, the lines get very long for that station and making that food is not a fast process. The hot food station had much shorter lines for the greasy food, and it was not as good. The chicken fingers looked okay (much better than the nuggets). I got a grilled chicken once and it was okay, not great. Considering the fact that we were pretty much hostage to this place, I was pretty happy with it. It is probably better than it has to be to keep people eating there. I wish the dining area was slightly larger and nicer. It feels like you're sitting in a bad cafeteria. read more

We stayed at the beautiful Wilderness Lodge for our Diney trip. Ok, I admit that in all the times I have been to Disney, I had never had a Mickey Waffle. Obviously, I had to do something about this PRONTO! My son and I got up early and headed down to Roaring Forks to pick up some breakfast to eat out on our balcony that overlooked the pool. It was an awesome view! My son got the breakfast platter which had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a biscuit. I didn't try this, but it looked good and my son certainly enjoyed it! I of course had the mickey waffles. To make it extra healthy, I had it with strawberries and whipped cream (Hey it's fruit!) which made it extra special. We stopped here a few more times for snacks during our 10 day stay.The staff is always very friendly and the space kept clean. read more

This is the snack bar/restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The food is OK. Breakfast crossiont was lousy. The packaged hard-boiled eggs were OK, the packaged oranges were excellent (it IS Florida!) and the packaged hummus and crackers were good. Everything else was some version of meh. I couldn't find bottled iced cofffee, which I really wanted. Bummer. Two big frustrations: Many unattended children, as well as some adults, will skip the line and cut in front of those waiting in line. Employees (who are nice to a fault) do nothing to discourage this. Can't tell you how many times this happened. Second, most of the snacks come in plastic containers that can't be recycled. Come on, Disney. It fills up fast in the mornings, as everyone carbo-loads for the parks, so get there early. read more

On our way out of the Magic Kingdom we decided to eat at one of the on site hotel quick serve restaurants. We found the Roaring Fork located in the Wilderness lodge resort. We were able to catch a short boat ride to the hotel. This was a great pick. It was quick and painless. After a long day of fighting through the crowds, this place gave us a chance to whined down and enjoy the food. We had the brisket burger, pulled pork sandwich, and two kids meals.
