The auditorium can be customized for any even from cocktail tables to standing room only. They have balcony/pew seating on second level. And they have a lounge to order drinks. It did seem like efforts were being made to get people in as quickly as possible while still checking IDs and completing a security check. As others have mentioned, the venue is pretty narrow. In light of recent events, I had some concerns about how to respond in case of an emergency. Those quelled eventually but it was my first thought coming in. Sound and lighting were good. The floor has just enough of a slope that I didn't feel bad about blocking someone else's view. As with most places, if you're in the front and you need to get a drink or go to the bathroom, getting back to your group is going to be next to impossible. There definitely aren't designated aisles or pathways to allow for crowd movement. Beer prices were reasonable given the venue/event. Tallboys help prevent having to return to the bar frequently. Best to go to the bathrooms upstairs as they are much larger. I'd go back to an even at Cone Denim.

There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy. There was plenty of room for everyone to read without standing on top of one another. We spent a full half-hour in the final immersive room lying on a rug propping ourselves on plush pillows. We watched the entire 360 degree show. Hats off to the creators! She's a huge fan, and use to do some kind of work at an art museum in Washington DC, so this place seemed up her alley. She graciously paid $90 for our tickets ($40/adult + taxes and fees), and was sorely disappointed. The old huge warehouse was renovated into a small showcase of Van Gogh art via a few tv monitors and interpreted art sculptures that represent Van Gogh's themes. The main event is the 30 min art instillation that projects on the walls, with strobe lighting and loud music..which is the immersive experience that you're essentially paying for. Of course, there's an overpriced gift shop area..with posters, t-shirts, and art jigsaw puzzles..and a mini bar with over priced snacks items. We were happy to support the culture..but this not truly worth the cost. Thankfully the restrooms were clean (but did not contain any changing tables..and auntie Nneka changed a poopy diaper!!). Also, there was air conditioning and welcoming staff members who were helpful and offered to take our pictures with any of the life sized sculptures. So, its a nice effort..but only if you trying to be supportive of the cause..otherwise..semi hard pass on this one.

Most of the people actually using this parking lot did not appear to fall into either category. The greenhouse is open during limited daytime hours, and across the street lie outdoor gardens. As with many such facilities, they appear to be constructed on uneven terrain that was not amenable to other uses, but they are quite impressive. Regional gardens and a mix of different materials for the path make for a dynamic experience. There is plenty to see, and while I suspect the greenhouse would add more value, the outdoor gardens were not a bad stop.

Other than that, my knowledge comes from Days of Thunder, Cars and Talladega Nights. I say all that to say, I don't know much about NASCAR. The HOF has a bunch of different packages; we just did the General Admission which didn't include a whole lot of the interactive parts like simulators. The HOF has 3 different floors that spirals up a ramp with cars from the various eras. There are tons of displays with cars, trophies, gear, etc. throughout the facility. No sport has trophies as good as NASCAR. See Dover's Monster Mile trophy for reference. I like how they show the cars cut in half to show now vs the other eras so you can see how far the engineering has come. They also have a room with all the plaques and busts of the HOF members. No matter your knowledge base, the NASCAR HOF is fun. If you have kiddos or are a racer yourself, the interactive packages may be worth the investment.
