I love this location because it has a full lunch menu. The food is soooo good and it's so pretty in there for a wfh day/brunch. I came for my birthday and got the cutest biscoff tres leches (pictured). No shame that I finished the whole thing and keep coming back for more. I always get the strawberry mint refresher! What I can really appreciate here is a fine urban coffee house with a well structured, interesting food menu... Chicken and waffles my kind sir. However, the mandatory 18% gratuity on every check (regardless of party size) under the guise of "providing a living wage" leaves a bad before and after taste. I usually leave 20%+ but how is paying a living wage at YOUR establishment MY responsibility. Charge appropriately for the food and service which will alleviate the need to nickel and dime customers for below the line costs. Today, it's the gratuity, tomorrow its health care and 401(k) matching. I understand restaurant economics are brutal (or so they say) but I'm simply not going to be your silent partner as you limbo under the $3 an hour staffing bar and pick my pockets for your fair share. The food here was so delicious! I really enjoyed their take on the chicken and waffles. The vibe here was so sleek, clean and earthy - which was great for my friend's birthday brunch. Ever heard of a cafe where your food comes out 10 mins before your coffee? And when it does, all they say is "service"? Well, if not, this is the place for you! Not to say that the food is bad (it's mediocre at best but this cafe is the closest to me so I just munch on it) but the fact that the staff here doesn't understand common serving etiquettes is upsetting... bring the coffee out first before the food. This place was awful. Hostess was awful. Service was slow, sporadic, never back and was awful. Food was ok, wasn't worth the wait and the coffee was awful. 5 stars for their knafa croissant, pistachio latte, chai tea latte and their kinder chocolate latte. We came here for to dine in at their cafe area. There's another area by the olive trees if you are here to dine in and have a meal. Their pistachio latte and knafa croissant-- I would drive back here for! My sons like their kinder latte and chai tea latte. The pistachio latte is served with pistachio paste which lends a distinctive nutty depth to the drink. Espresso to milk ratio was just right and the drink was still rich with oatmilk. Their knafa croissant is layered with just the right amount of knafa and covered with milk chocolate. There are other items in the pastry counter that looked really good and I'd come back for those to try. The interior is beautiful-- huge but still inviting with its green and brass aesthetic. Our server was friendly. But what made the visit unpleasant was the *WAIT* for our drinks. 35 minutes from ordering to have them placed at our table! 35 whole minutes-- I know because we did metered parking and I was counting our minutes left on the meter. I asked our server twice and he apologized. There were 3 people behind the counter, and 6 tables being served-- 4 with their food already. I can't fathom why it would take that long to make 3 drinks with at least one dedicated barista. As you can see from the photos it was not a busy time at all and the place was almost empty on a weekday afternoon. I'm hoping this is just first week jitters as they just had their grand opening this past weekend. Hopefully this changes, as it definitely affected our experience. I am not taking a star off from today though, would like to give Mokafe to find their footing as the days pass. Street and metered parking. Clean, pretty, and spacious interior. read more

This place has been on my radar for the longest and go to finally go. The service was good, nothing extra. The menu is pretty straightforward. The lattes was good I tried the pistachio and as main entry I tried the Dubai chocolate French toast. If you are coming in for the Dubai chocolate anything make sure to share it with your eating partner it's a lot. It can be overwhelming if you don't have a sweet tooth. There was a little bit of a wait when we arrived, however the host walked us over to a bench where we could wait which made the time go a lot faster for a busy Saturday morning. Within 20 minutes we were seated. The food was great but the drinks were out of this world. So many choices it was nearly impossible to make a choice. This was the perfect cafe for a Saturday brunch / date in Jersey city. Everything from the lighting to the interior design, the cleanliness, and the music was so fun and inviting! The service was great even amidst being busy. We loved the chicken slider appetizer (10/10!!), it was the star of the show! The iced coffee flight (8/10) would be perfect for coffee lovers (I am truly a matcha girly these days) but wanted to try something new and the pistachio and caramel iced coffees did not disappoint. We went here on a Sunday afternoon. A little after 2 pm and it was packed! As you enter you are greeted by the smell of fresh baked pastries. The restaurant vibe was very chill but whoever did the interior did a great design. I was in awe of it the whole time we were having our dessert. So we ordered the lotus flat croissant, the dubai croissant and the coffee flight. I will have to say it was kind of pricy for me but the taste justifies the price point. Came here about six weeks ago for brunch and had a wonderful time with wide selection of items. But came back today. Menu has been paired way back from how it was. They also have gotten rid of table service. You have to order from counter. Which is fine. But prices still reflect a place with table service. came here with my friends for lunch parking is HORRENDOUS to find, only street parking available and since it's next to the highway and there's a lot of one ways it can be very difficult the space itself is beautiful and i love how it integrates both restaurant and cafe in the same area. the staff is sweet but unfortunately they are SUPER slow my friend apparently was not greeted or given the menu when she arrived and sat there for THIRTY minutes before she was seen. i see other reviews and it seems like this a recurring problem the food itself is okay, i got the chicken and waffles. they do have a brunch and dinner menu so i don't mind coming back to try other items out; however the price point is on the pricier side AND they include an MANDATORY 18% tip which is think is absolutely crazy. if you can't pay your staff just say it but don't make me pay ABOVE average tip for slow / below par service. that rubbed me the wrong way overall, for what it's worth, i don't recommend coming here but if you live around the area & don't have a car and dont mind the wait and paying extra tip because you're ~generous~ then it won't hurt to try it out read more

Coffee was decent but extremely overpriced. Was charged $1 extra for each drink bc it was a "16oz" i never even asked for a 16oz and it was most definitely not a 16oz when it arrived. The 18% automatic gratuity is absolutely shameful for a coffee shop. As a barista I was appalled to see the price for the mediocre service. It's like they're trying to rush you out of there. Cute little coffee/ food spot under my building. I love going here to grab a quick coffee or get some work done. They are kind enough to share the Wi-Fi connection and the food and lattes are yummy! They even offered my dog a pup cup when he came with me haha. Highly recommend ! read more
