I am always looking for places for Sunday brunch meals. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a bagel and a shmear, other times I want the lox, eggs and onions experience, and then there are those days when a deli sandwich and/or soup is the only thing that will hit the spot. So I am so happy I came across the Roasters and Toasters, a place where I can have it all. And by all I mean, I can have any of these choices, I know they will be delicious, and I know the service will be exceptional. I don't have a favorite person in the waitstaff here because they are also friendly and good right down to the busboy who is always stopping by the table for some pleasant conversation. Management is always walking around making sure people are happy and the staff always seems to be picking up the slack when it's busy by helping each other out. A well-run restaurant with that old style New York deli atmosphere, excellent food, reasonable prices, and always perfect service really does check all the boxes. The quality is evident in everything they prepare, and I never leave unsatisfied. A couple of favorites. They have the best lox eggs and onions anywhere. Generous with the lox and an overall good portion. Just delicious. They also have a soup and half sandwich which has enough meat on it to be considered a whole sandwich on a single slice of bread which for those like me who are carb conscious is actually a bonus. I have it with matzoh ball soup which is excellent as well. I do vary the meats because the pastrami, the corned beef, and the turkey are all enticing. You can't go wrong here no matter what you order. This is a regular stop for me on weekends. Highly recommended. read more

Love coming to Roasters and Toasters during the weekend. I e been coming here for years and keep coming back year after year! My favorite dish is the Nutella French toast! They're really big so you might be able to share the portion if you don't eat them all due to their delicious nature! I usually pair that with the 2-2-2 breakfast. Two eggs your way, some kind of protein I usually get the Turkey option along side some house potatoes! The service is always good! They take care of you and are very quick to bring you what you need, ketchup, hot sauce, water, etc.. The place is always packed on the weekends which you know it's a good sign! They do close early so check the times before you go and parking may be a challenge but it's worth it! It's a family staple in the Pinecrest/ Dadeland area! read more

My favorite thing from here was Matzo ball soup! It was so yummy. I honestly didn't love the potatoes I would skip them next time and the blueberry lemonade was okay. Had a craving for some matzo ball soup and hot pastrami. I was in the area and stopped by on a Saturday for lunch. It had been at least two years since I last visited. I was seated immediately. The cup of Matzo Ball was good. The fluffiness and consistency of the matzo ball was on point. The broth itself was well seasoned and tasted less salty than last time. A couple of carrots and celery added a nice touch. The chicken in the broth was ok. It was one small piece but it seems to have given it the right touch to balance out the flavor. The toasted bagel chip crisps were an added bonus and quite tasty. The Half Hot Pastrami Sandwich on rye was Ok. The Rye was freshly-- but not super fresh. The pastrami was lean and savory - lukewarm - like I like it. However it was not as buttery and flavorful as I've had in other Delis outside of Miami. All in $22 with tip. Come for the matzo ball soup, skip the pastrami sandwich. At least it satisfied my craving. Bon appetit. read more

Ordered chicken soup,to-go, the large size. I'm a chemo patient and I have to eat healthy and this was referred to me by my sister. The problem was that the chicken soup had only one tiny piece of chicken and some herbs which I found only after sipping an entire bowl of nothing but broth. It tasted like someone had thrown some chicken into a colander and then passed some hot water through it and then they threw in maybe two small pieces of chicken and then sprinkled some spices on top. My son and I ordered bagels and eggs during a slow period and it was a no show after 35mins ... worse, the kitchen staff didn't seem to be in any hurry. It's a shame. I personally really liked this place. We came after an appointment and in glad we didn't let the reviews keep us from not going in. The server was really nice and helpful. Took the time to explain what certain menu items were the bagels were good. Came out nice and hot and with a good amount of cream cheese on the side. Our food itself was really good. Sorry there's no pics we were starving! But everything was fresh, had great flavor and came out at a good time even though there was a decent amount of people. What an amazing little gem this is. The place is spotless even the restrooms, bright, and cozy. The music was playing tunes from the 70s, and 80s, and it was appealing to the ear, as well as reminiscing to the soul. Unfortunately for me, my phone was updating when the food was brought out so I could not take pictures, but believe me that everything was as beautiful to the eye as delicious. I had the Power breakfast, and my husband had the Nova bagel. Soooooo yummy. Our waitress, Val was so kind and borderline familiar as if she was taking care of her family. Much to my surprise there was a male who I believe was a server as well came by our table and picked up our empty coleslaw and pickle dishes. His actions demonstrated team work and harmony for his lady server counterpart, I loved this. The customers were comfortable and if any of them had any stressors upon their shoulders the staff, I assure you eased that for the time they were here. It was a phenomenal experience. Great New York style deli establishment right here in Miami. Walking in gives you more of a modern deli feel with a tiny NY attitude and I'm here for it,lol. We had to wait for a little to be seated so we scanned the menu and also looked at the fresh salmon displayed that was being freshly cut. They also had fresh bagel chips for sale. Seated about 5 minutes later (there quick here) we ordered rounds of coffee and water and another waiter was already bringing it out. They really are a team effort here. I wanted everything on thw menu like seriously. I love sandwiches, lox, matzoh soup, and dill pickles and they have it all and then some! Around the table we had a build your own omelette with eggs, ham, shrooms, and onions that came with grits and a toasted plain bagel with fresh cream cheese. Moms and I ordered the same thing which was avocado toast with salmon tartare on rye. It was fabulous! We also had a side order of french toast to share with was fluffy and perfect. I was so looking forward to Jewish Deli food. When I lived in Boca Raton, Too Jay's was my regular go to for deli food. I'm a chef and I cook Jewish food. I was very disappointed along with my mom. First off, I must say Liz my waitress, and Stanley who greeted us were both very friendly.. My problem was their quality or lack of quality and flavor in their food. I ordered their Soup and Half Sandwich Combination for $16.99 plus $1.50 extra for the Matzo ball soup. My mom ordered the same along with coffee. Our soup and sandwich came with coleslaw and pickle. Our coffee was very weak, and had absolutely no flavor. It tasted watered down. We were hoping the second cup would've been better then the first but it wasn't. Both were just awful! Secondly, For our soup we both chose their Matzo Ball Soup. Even though the order we chose was soup and a half sandwich, we had to pay more for matzo ball soup. The soup looked good, but again had very little flavor, and was extremely bland. ( It definitely needed some fresh dill, parsley, salt and pepper and more chicken to give it good flavor which it was missing.) The matzo ball itself was very bland. I added lots of black pepper to mine, ( see picture) but it really needed something more. We both ordered a Corn Beef Sandwich on no seeded rye bread and asked if we could get a smear of chopped liver on it. Most Jewish delis will serve it this way, or for a couple dollars more add it on. It's a standard order for me, not here! Liz my waitress said we should order 5oz's of chopped liver separately for an extra $10.99 and she suggested we share it even though we both just wanted a smear. Speaking of chopped liver, it was the worst I've ever had in my life. It was dark, dark brown almost black, and absolutely tasteless. No hard boiled egg in it, or Schmaltz, (aka rendered chicken fat,)which is in most traditional chopped liver. It needed schmaltz ,chopped onions, and fresh parsley too. These are the ingredients that give chopped liver it's great flavor but we're missing. It really didn't even taste like it was chicken livers, it tasted more like beef liver without flavor. On to our Corn Beef Sandwich. The Rye Bread tasted stale like it was left out unwrapped overnight. It was very dry and I found myself choking as I ate it. The Corn Beef was very dry and tough that when I bit into my sandwich I had to tear at the corn beef with my teeth. I was really shocked! Every corn beef deli sandwich I've ever had was moist, juicy, and tender not this sandwich. My daughter ordered their Nova on a bagel for $15.99. She chose the better Nova for an additional $3. Her lunch was good. How could you mess up a bagel and a few slices of Nova? They offered two types Nova and she chose the better one. I believe it was the Acme. The prices here are steep. I paid more here then in NYC for something comparable. I'm just wondering if the chef really knows how to cook good Jewish deli food, or are corners being cut to save money. Only time will tell. read more
