Cozy lodge vibes, warm lighting, and that perfect après-ski energy even if you didn't touch a pair of skis all day. I went straight for the beef stew, and it was exactly what the moment called for. Rich, hearty, slow-cooked flavor with tender beef, vegetables, and that deep savory broth that basically warms you from the inside out. I had this place saved before arriving in Breckenridge, so I made it a point to dine here during my visit. The views of the slopes were amazing, such a great vibe. It was a busy Sunday afternoon. I can definitely say their chicken sando was delicious! I paired it with a Caesar salad and had two glasses of their Cabernet. My boyfriend enjoyed the jerk burger. We both were extremely satisfied with our food. 5 stars on the food. Because it was so busy, it sometimes felt like our waitress forgot about us, and we had to flag her down a few times. Because it was ski season while we were there and we weren't skiing, we were unable to go up on the lift to the top. Ben's Mom was hoping we could do that because this was Guy's favorite place to ski so she wanted to take us up there in Guy's memory. So instead she decided that we needed to get some drinks and enjoy the beautiful weather. Robbie's Tavern is right there at the Grand Colorado and is actually owned by a local vs some big outside company so we decided to go there. We would see they had outdoor seating as well but with the line they had just to get a seat we told them we would take whatever becomes available first (I did whisper to the hostess that we really wanted outside if possible though). After about 30-40 minutes of waiting in the lobby area we were called up and luckily we got outdoor seating at a community table that had a fire pit running down it to keep people warm. Even better since I get cold really quick. They have a great selection of beers available, so everyone got something for themselves and we ordered some mozzarella sticks. Luckily I wasn't hungry cause they were only 6 sticks and Laura and Ben ate them as fast as can be. LOL. I so enjoyed our time there, sitting outside, watching the skiers coming down the slopes with the bright sun above our heads. It was interesting to see just how many people have to be helped down by the Ski Patrol team. For being a non-skier, I could still find ways to enjoy myself if every resort had places like Robbie's. read more

We met the part of our group who were skiing here for lunch. They move people through pretty quickly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We had a group of 7 - they won't seat you until your entire party is present. We got on the waiting list thinking that we would have about 15-20 minute wait to allow everyone to get there, but they had a table for us quicker than that, so we had to get back in line to get our name on the list again. It moved quickly though. We were sat in a booth - it was a tight fit for everyone and the ski gear. But, we managed. Our waitress was attentive, helpful and friendly. She was able to give us good recommendations. The BBQ chicken flatbread pizza was really good. Two people could share it - if one of the two isn't a growing teenager. Pretty neat place to eat or drink at the base of Peak 8. My friend and I sat on the patio and had cocktails while sharing a pizza. Both were delicious and they have serve yourself water, which is nice. The view was fun to people watch but it was a hot day, and we were seated at the fireplace which the counter is black, so we had to avoid touching it to get burned. Katie told us a few of her favorites on the menu they loaded fries with green chili was flavorful and delicious, The gluten-free pizza had nice mushrooms and pepperoni and with a crisp crust. You salad that they brought us with the balsamic vinaigrette on the side was also delicious cucumbers tomatoes sliced fresh Parmesan hit the spot. Me and some of my coworkers grabbed lunch at Robbie's Tavern after taking the gondola up in Breckenridge, and we were lucky enough to get one of the fireplace tables that look straight out over the slopes. The four of us sat there with the fire running through the center of the stone table, watching skiers come down while it was actively snowing, and it really did feel like the best seat in the house. It had to have been in the 20s or 30s, but we were completely warm and comfortable the entire time, which almost felt unreal given how wintery it was outside. I ordered the "Peppermint Patty" drink, and it was exactly what I wanted on a cold ski day, warm peppermint and chocolate. I also got the chili mac and cheese, which was very creamy and way better than what I usually expect from ski hill food. We shared the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, and those were perfect to snack on while we sat by the fire. The food came out surprisingly fast, the staff was attentive without rushing us, and we were able to sit and relax without feeling pushed out. Pros - Right by the end if you run on Peak 8. Excellent green chili cheese fries. Cons - Hostesses try to be jerks on purpose for no reason. There are tons of tables, not one or two, multiple open tables inside and out. But they will still put you on a waitlist. If you inquire why this is happening they will make you feel like the idiot. The coolest aspect of this place is the location at the top of the mountain. You can take the free Gondola ride up and dine. We were a party of 7, wait time was around 20 minutes so not bad. We were seated in a long big oversized booth and had plenty of room. The food was good, nothing out of the ordinary special or worth over raving about, just good. The Kraft Mac n cheese is kid friendly not gourmet macaroni which is good for picky eaters. Although, the kids meals are overpriced, the adult meals are fairly priced for the area. The Cheeseburger was pretty simple and yet it was a knockout. Loaded with bacon on top of the juicy patty and cheese. With a side of fries. I would order both again in a heartbeat.
