AMAZING VIEW And GREAT FOOD to go with it! We started coming here when we moved here to check out the sunset to fall colors and grab some snacks at the bar. (Such a great experience for visitors) We had friends come and do dinner. Their executive Chef Michael came out and greeted us! our guests loved meeting the chef and They said it was their favorite of all the places we went(for food and atmosphere)! They had the french dip and loved it. Everything we have ordered here has been really good. We came on a Wednesday once for the burger and beer and i think it's Possibly the best burger in breckenridge. The Brussel sprouts are how you imagine perfectly roasted Brussel sprouts should be. (And it's a giant bowl) Last night we did dinner (we always try and make sure Michael is working when we go, just adds to the great experience) and tried the oyster Rockefeller and I had the salmon. (I grew up in a fishing town). The oysters and salmon were cooked perfectly. (At elevation! I was wondering how it would turn out) . The salmon is perfect. The Jamaican sauce on the salmon rich with flavor and complimented the salmon perfectly, the texture was crispy on the outside and soft and flaky in the middle. The oysters Rockefeller were a yummy appetizer, not over baked and still tender. So exciting to have another great chef in town! read more

I wanted to love Traverse (second time here while at the hotel). The elk tacos and vision chili were phenomenal, but the bar service was a comedy of errors. We sat at the totally empty bar top at 6:48 PM on a Tuesday...and miraculously it somehow took 21 minutes for Kelly to mumble "I'll be right with you" at 7:09pm and returned attention at 7:15pm when we ask a server who was mixing his own drinks if he could take our orders. In the 21 minutes, we watched peak inefficiency: Kelly would make one drink, sprint it past us to the dining room, come back, make another single drink, sprint again...like two hands and batching drinks were forbidden concepts?? The dirty plates in front of us? Untouched archaeological relics from other guests. Food: 5 stars. Service: a solid zero for efficiency. Overall two stars. Come for the tacos, bring patience and maybe a stopwatch, or just sit in the dining room. read more

Ate here tonite. Server lady was new she told us. No excuse for her approach to the job. She was awful in every way you could assess. She was dropping F-bombs that we could clearly hear as she berated the bartender. She took our order but never put it in. She never checked on our beers we ordered from her. I eventually went to the bar and got them from the bartender. He saw there was a problem with how our table was being handled and did a great job of fixing our order and making it right. The lady server needs a new role that is not customer-facing. The food was fine and what we would expect for the price and the setting. read more

The views are absolutely stunning. Try to get a window seat before sunset. Food is good but not something I would come repeatedly for. Service is slow because there aren't enough people working, which caused frustration on both the folks working there as well as the patrons read more

The best thing about the restaurant is the view. We arrived early for our reservation, and sat at the bar for a drink. Drink menu is good - had some great wines/cocktails. The bartender was not very welcoming, even though the place was not busy at all. We moved to our table, and the bartender was also our waiter. It was clear that he did not want to be there. Of the four entrees, two were very good and two were not very good. Prices seemed high for the quality of the food. Service was not great. The place also needs a good update/refresh. read more

We had a great dinner at Traverse. The food was really good across the board and everything was cooked just right. The location is hard to beat, especially with the views, which made the whole experience even better. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. Go for the experience, the food is secondary. Restaurant for The Lodge at Breckenridge. The lodge itself has the feel of an old resort lodge. Terrific views of Breckenridge Ski Area Peaks 9 and 10, Quandary, around to Baldy. Miles our server was fabulous! Attentive, knowledgeable, even stepped out onto the patio with us to take some pictures. The food was average at best, both the elk and steak were cooked per our requests. However, it's hard to give 4 stars when you're in a "fine dining" environment and served OreIda frozen french fries and gravy from a can. We also had some appetizers and desserts, that were good but nothing special. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening because of the experience and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Wonderful service,the happy hour food was great and my hubby and I split the prime rib dinner and still took leftovers home. We were there for our 47th anniversary in July and sat at a window and even tho we live in the mts of CO it was beautiful and breathtaking and we are going back tomorrow while in Breck for the Sunday Prime Rib. read more

Service-bartender, server Miles kind and enthused. He gets 5 stars. Food was worse than meh. Asked for salad with dressing on the side and it came out drenched. Miles caught the mistake. The French Dip bread was good. Au Jus was watered down. Meat was not brown, kinda beige. It was flavorless, tough. And now that I think about it, rather than doctor it up as a leftover I am not taking a chance and will toss it. Other person was super hungry so said liked the tacos but when I tasted them, they were so overwhelmed with sauce and jalepenos. No other flavor. Such a great view. Could be a great place. With the shuttle, should have a top chef, cool bar, and rides back into town. But the place was empty and Breck is full for the holiday. Breckenridge has become a phenomenal dining experience so there is no excuse any more for another bad restaurant. In fact, sadly, we have tried Traverse a few times and won't be back. We will depend on our hikes for the views and spend $72 on Happy Hour at a place with James Beard winners. Such a waste of a wonderful view and nice sized bar and restaurant. read more

We finally made it up there a few weeks ago, of course when the weather was a bit bad so the views were not what we hoped for at sunset. That said, it's definitely worth a trip, even if they are fogged in. We both liked our cocktails (the old fashioned for me and cucumber collins for my wife) and then shared a huge plate of fritto misto to start. We both had the elk which was excellent as advertised along with a bottle of the malbec (you cannot go wrong with this wine imho). Ambiance: 5 stars. Come before sunset, gorgeous views of the ridge. Service: Miles you were the best! Attentive, meaningful, friendly, prompt. Can't complain. Drinks/cocktails: delicious cocktails and generous wine pours. Food: Delicious! We got the wings, very very good. We were told they're some of the best wings in town...I'd believe it! My husband got the burger and he said it was VERY good and he was drowning in fries haha. I got the Halibut, which was delicious, but I do have some feedback for the chef. The halibut was nicely seared, crispy outside, and fresh/neutral taste. It comes with a pasta, spinach, tomatoes. The tomatoes were barely cooked, definitely would've liked them a little more blistered in olive oil etc. As for the pasta, it was good. My issue was the "sauce". My plate had a watery layer of sauce at the bottom. I feel like I would've liked a sauce that held it's thickness and complimented my meal a bit better. People are ok with a small menu and high prices, but we definitely want to feel like it was worth it. This menu could use a little love. Best dining views in Breckenridge! The food was very good and well presented. With six in our group, we sampled almost all the entrees on the menu. The elk, steak frites, and pasta were standouts. Our waiter was also very personable and accommodating. My only drawback was that they automatically added gratuity, but this is a common practice for larger groups. We had dinner at Traverse while staying at the lodge. The service was good, friendly staff. Dinner on the other hand was just average and pretty expensive. We each had the chicken francaise and split a crème brûlée. We asked for bread which the waiter brought out maybe 10 minutes later. The bread was warm on the outside but cold on the inside. Guessing it was a frozen baguette they heated up for us. The kicker was the $7 that was added to our bill for the bread. The total for two chicken entrees and one desert was $80, including the $7 bread, no drinks. With tip we paid $96. The decor of the restaurant is pretty outdated and basic. While we would definitely stay at the lodge again, we would likely skip the restaurant, not worth the $$. read more

Stayed at The Lodge for two nights and ate dinner here both nights because it was really good. Everything I tried tasted great, except the salad which was just okay. I got the Smoked Gouda Pancetta Burger, and it was in my opinion the perfect medium rare. The fries and even the ketchup tasted really good?! Other dishes I tried included: Southern Fried Chicken, Caesar Salad (got it with greens because there was a recall for romaine), Vegetable Minestrone Soup, Chocolate Bundt Cake, and Vanilla Creme Brûlée. Our server suggested getting a scoop of salted caramel ice cream with the cake instead of vanilla ice cream, so we did that both nights! It was perfect. Came around 8:00 pm both nights and there was a lot of open seating. We sat at a table both times by a large window (beautiful view during the day). Service on Friday night was exceptional. Our server was very helpful and patient. It took a really long time for our food to come out on Saturday night but there were a few more tables in there. read more

Came here after a long day of snowboarding to try the infamous Colorado elk. The elk was very delicious and had a hint of a gamy taste to it. I wasn't a fan of the berries as is was very acidic and didn't compliment the dish well. We also ordered a charcuterie board and was an as expected board. For desert we ordered cream brûlée and it was delicious. Perfect texture and taste with the right amount of sugar coating and berries. Was originally going to give it a 3 star but our server was extremely helpful. Overall a good experience. read more

We came here with a family of 6 for Christmas Eve dinner to the tune of $500 - the food was not great, the selection for a "buffet" was dismal and the ambiance consisted of a conference room with 4 strands of lights and a 4 ft fake tree. We stopped in for a couple cocktails. We sat at one of the community tables where I suspect many folks work from their computers due to all the outlets below the table ledge. Friendly but busy bartender. Drinks are less pricy than down on Main street. This place is 'up there' with probably the best view of the city and the mountains. They have parking here which is almost impossible on or near Main street. Loved the giant TV that we watched one of the many college football games. This hotel has the friendliest staff in Breck. Upon arrival we were greeted by Micah, who was professional and courteous. We had a reservation at the restaurant, Traverse, where the service was welcoming and friendly. The food was done to perfection from the kitchen. We had our Christmas buffet dinner tonight but it was total let down. Let's start saying not even once a waiter came to our table to take away the plates or refill our waters or even asked us if we want drinks. I had to ask someone if we even had a waiter assigned to our table. His answer was "we are all moving around". No things else and at that point I was so uncomfortable being ignored I just wanted to leave. If you are paying a $500 meal, you expect a certain level of service. It was non existent for us. The food was average. Nothing impressive about the menu. We only had one round, so practically we paid $70 for an average plate of pasta and fruits.
