I rarely leave reviews, but this barista absolutely deserves one. He's the white guy with the glasses and brown hair and kinda looks like harry potter (in a good way), and every single time he makes my drink, it's hands down the best coffee I've ever tasted. The flavor is always perfect, the consistency is incredible, and you can tell he genuinely cares about what he's making. In fact, the only times I've ever had issues with the taste of my drink have been when someone else made it. Whenever I see that he's working, I know my order is going to be exactly how I like it. That's the level of consistency and quality he brings every time. Great customer service is one thing, but consistently making drinks this good is a skill. This barista is a huge asset to the business, and honestly, he deserves a raise. Employees who make customers want to come back again and again are hard to find, and he's definitely one of them. The seasonal Donuts and the Croissant Tarts keep me coming back! Best Donuts - Pumpkin Pie Donut, Tiramisu Donut, Key Lilme Pie, Boston Cream, and Hot Cocoa Nutella donut. The Strawberry and Raspberry have a Jelly/Jam filling. I wasn't a big fan of the Cookie Butter Donut, Cannoli donut, or the Dot Cake Donut. The Cookie Butter donut tasted like creamy peanut butter while the Cannoli donut that didn't have the sweet creamy filling that I was hoping for and the Funfetti frosting was a bit off on the Dot Cake Donut (super fun to see all the dot sprinkles on top!). Croissant Tarts - Both the sweet and savory tarts deliver! The Raspberry Cream Cheese Tart, Red Pepper Feta Tart, Apple Tart, and Everything Tart are all delicious! The classic Garlic Spinach Tart and Shroom Tart are fine. Best Croissants - Christmas Tree Raspberry Croissant, Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse Croissant, Apple Butter Crumble Croissant, Almond Croissant, and Matcha Croissant. The cookies are pretty light and fluffy, the Lemon Cheesecake Cookie tasted like a lemon sugar cookie with no filling. For Valentine's Day, the Linzer sugar cookie filled with raspberry jam was delicious! So glad I grabbed the last one by 11am on Saturday! For Mother's Day, there were colorful macaroons. All of the fillings with the donuts and croissants are whipped and pretty light. There's a parking garage next door and you can get parking validated for 1 hour. While there's plenty of seating inside, it can get packed over the weekends. There's no outdoor seating (there's some makeshift seating around the high-rise building). Stopped in with family for breakfast while in town to attend a wedding. The space is wide open. Big and bright with lots of seating. They need to work on how they manage their overflow guests who are waiting for orders (take out) to be completed. The pastry and breads selection was out of this world. Their signature coffees, lattes, and espresso drinks were delicious. I got a breakfast plate which came with sliced avocado and greens as well as bacon/eggs. Really craving a warm tea latte or chai and a pastry this morning. When looking at different places, I saw that this place had some really nice looking croissants and some interesting drink menu items. So of course I already pretty much decided what I wanted before I walked in. I ended up getting the Matcha croissant along with the lavender tea latte. Both really good. The Matcha croissant wasn't too sweet or bitter. It was nice and creamy and super flaky. Definitely felt fresh and made in house, probably the same day. You could really taste the lavender in the tea. And when I finished, the tea was actually like a bluish color. Which totally surprise me! Beesting Latte is a little sweet with a strong coffee and is a solid latte. Also, the mushroom pastry is flakey and quite decadent and oily from the truffle oil. The matcha is ok but nothing special--really strong on the oat milk. Super pretty inside with a separate bakery section and coffee section. Parking is quite inconvenient if you don't live within walking distance of here. They're pretty strict with parking tickets as it is near the Capital One HQ. read more

The best thing about Sunday Morning is the space itself. It's big, bright, and has plenty of seating to work, study, or catch up with friends. The food, however, was underwhelming. I ordered the strawberry latte and a slice of the lemon pound cake, both of which weren't great. The strawberry flavor of the latte was tart, but not sweet, so it left an odd aftertaste. Tried this hidden gem after loving their original spot in Pike & Rose, Rockville, and it's a great addition to the Tysons area. They have an extensive menu or drinks, breakfast/lunch food, and a case full of baked goods. FOOD/DRINK: ~Gingerbread latte (3/5): was a solid latte but I didn't taste much gingerbread flavor. The little gingerbread person cookie then gave with it was a nice treat though ~Mushroom Tart (4.5/5): the pastry is so flaky and flavorful. Lamination was on point. The mushroom filling was earthy and flavorful. ~Hazelnut Croissant (3.9/5): Highly recommend eating it there. Took it togo, and the flakiness fell apart. Or put it in the air fryer/convection for a few minutes to crisp is back up. Filling has good Nutella flavor ~Sea salt chocolate chunk cookie (4.5/5): didn't take a picture, but if you like thinner and chewier cookies, this thing was exactly that. If you don't like that type of cookie, then this isn't for you. That little punch of sea salt you get adds a nice punch at the end. Welcome to Virginia, Sunday Morning Bakehouse! My family is a huge fan of their Rockville location so we were super happy to hear that a branch was opening up a little closer to home. I met up with some girlfriends on a Friday morning and the place was popping! I got a latte and a salmon croissant and thought it was fresh and lovely. The shop is super aesthetic and love how you can see them baking the pastries through the windows. I was a little bit confused about the ordering process since there seems to be a line at the coffee counter and at the bakery section, but it turns out you can place orders at both. Free wifi available but this is not the place to do work because of acoustics. Free parking is available in the back! Can't wait to stop in again for their amazing cookies. read more

Really cute coffee shop! They're going to get great foot traffic from the apartment buildings around and Mitre across the street. The prices are pretty reasonable. The place is minimal and pretty. It gets very noisy. The acoustics make everything echo, so please note it's not good for working. I was on a work call and they could hear everything. This spot is good to grab a coffee/pastry solo or with a friend, not a good work spot. I do think they need the coffee menu near the register. They didn't have what I wanted and I had to keep moving to look at the menu again. The avocado toast was really fresh and delicious. My coffee was solid. BEE STING LATTE - 5.25 +2% milk Their bee sting latte is synonymous to a honey and cinnamon latte. I didn't really taste a lot of honey and thought the drink was a bit too watery. I'll probably try something else next time. Between the three of us, we shared the matcha green tea croissant, chocolate chunk with sea salt, and maybe a lemon pound cake? My favorite was the croissant since it had a pretty strong matcha flavor, and the filling was whipped and not too sweet. The chocolate chunk had an intense brown butter flavor, but it was way too sweet for me. The lemon pound cake was a bit too sweet, but firm and dense. Compared to the Bethesda location, this location's pastries are sweeter. They're still in the grand opening stage, and I'm sure they will continue to improve with time. I got the beesting latte and twice baked almond croissant. The offered to warm it up but since I was getting it to go and figured it would be cold by the time I eat it I declined. Came to Sunday morning bakehouse on a weekend morning. I parked in the Heming retail garage and walked around to get to the cafe. The cafe was busy with people getting breakfast/brunch. There is a cozy vibe with a modern look. They have a variety of pastries on display and they have a glass window that you can see inside the bakehouse in the back of house. The customer service was great here. I got the salmon croissant sandwich. I think the croissant was a little dry. I also tried the hojicha and matcha. The hojicha latte comes with oatmilk and it was a good drink. There is an deep earthy taste, almost like misutgaru even though hojicha doesn't contain any grains. I didn't ask for less sweet because I wanted to see how it tasted. I would opt for less sugar next time. The matcha latte was not very good in both taste and quality of matcha. I am not a fan of honey in matcha drinks because the honey overpowers the matcha. This drink was too sweet and would opt for a less sweet option next time. I'd be interested in getting some pastries and a coffee based drink next time. Garage parking is free for one hour and you have to get your ticket validated when you are ordering. read more

The almond croissant is a winner with a thick marzipan inside and double baked just like French bakeries do, with leftover croissant. Breakfast sandwich is good. Chocolate croissant is on the eggier side. Biscotti is a nice treat anytime of the day. Drinks complement the pastries well. Seats filled up quickly, it was a weekend, plus building residents do a lot of takeout. Despite that, service was quick and friendly. I used to go to their Bethesda location quite often for coffee and baked goods, so needless to say that whenever I saw it pop all over instagram to have opened in Tyson's Corner, I had to be there. I couldn't wait for the hype to die down, so I took my chances with the crowds on two separate weekends. Considering that both times I went it was busy enough that no tables were available, I simply ordered coffee and pastries to go. Between the two visits, I tried a hot latte and an iced beesting latte, as well various pastries. Unfortunately, absolutely none of those items stood out. They weren't bad, but nothing I would go out of my way for. Something to note, especially when it's super busy: pay close attention to the name they're calling out, otherwise your order will be sitting getting cold as they only call the name once or twice. But every single staff member I dealt with was friendly and pleasant. I saw a lot of people complaining about parking. True, they don't have their private lot; however, on both occasions I visited, I was able to find street parking within a 5-minute walk. read more

The spinach and garlic tart was another highlight: buttery crust, flavorful filling, and satisfying overall. A few logistical issues stood out. Lines on the weekend are long, and the layout doesn't help -- there's nowhere comfortable to stand while waiting because you're constantly shifting aside for people picking up their drinks at the barista station. The whole setup could use a more efficient flow. Parking is another headache. The nearby garage requires payment, and street parking is chaotic at best -- often no spots available. I live about 20-25 minutes from this area... do I think it's worth the drive? Not really. It's a standard cafe in this area. The food isn't super notable nor is the coffee... actually I thought the coffee wasn't all that great. The service was nice, they brought the food out to you. It has a nice seating area. Oy. I've been here 3 times in the last two weeks. What a delicious problem. I've tried 3 beverages. In ranked order I've enjoyed the cold brew, cafe au lait, and a matcha iced latte with whole milk. Another gal I met in there thought it was one of the best matcha iced lattes she's had. I thought it was nothing to write home about. But the coffee itself has been good !! The au lait still had such a nice roasty flavor. And the cold brew was perfectly brewed. Not too strong not bitter. Delicious The sea salt chocolate chip cookie was really tasty and rather inexpensive. The breakfast platter (without bacon) was on the expensive side, but surprisingly good. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and flavorful. The salad was minimally dressed but nice mix of greens. Good tomato slices, avocado looked a little sad but tasted good. Next time i might consider the avocado toast with an egg on top. The other pastries look good - but things here feel expensive. Some of the pastries are small. 5 dollars for a donut led to a 4 star review instead of 5. Prices are Not out of line with the area, but absolutely not something that i can afford to keep in regular rotation. I don't live near here, i just work near here. They just opened. Service is very friendly, but waiting for your food is a little slow. Not terrible, but don't expect to be in and out the door. They are making things fresh just for you, so anticipate a short wait. All the employees have been very welcoming. Maybe skip the matcha. But treat yourself to coffee and a cookie! You can have a great adventure for less than 9 dollars.
