Robert Half (The Creative Group subsidiary) I've been registered with The Creative Group for well over 10 years now and I've been a professional graphic designer/production artist/art director for 17 with a wide range of experience, professionally employed and a contract employee for as long as well. In all of that time I was never placed even ONCE, let alone seriously considered for any positions that I applied for, which has numbered in the HUNDREDS over the entire length of experience I've been a 'member'. Even after MANY attempts to contact them, both on the phone and via email, no response and no feedback. So to say my experience with The Creative Group was uneventful, frustrating and unfullfilling would be a gross understatement. One would expect a certain level of professionalism and communication with a creative staffing agency like this that supposedly prides itself as a great resource with excellent communication and service. Nothing could be further from the truth. At least as far as the Los Angeles/Westwood branch is concerned. And this includes AT LEAST 5 agents who've attempted to communicate with over the years. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication skills and ultimately, lack of any customer service at all, including, most importantly, their incompetence as a creative staffing agency, would not allow me to recommend them to anyone this side of a homeless vagabond. Even after sending them 1 final email (to all 5 agents and the main office) with my complaints fully and completely explained and detailed, I never heard back - not even a follow-up, an apology or any kind of acknowledgment whatsoever. read more

First ever review! I moved to LA a few months ago with a decent resume, mostly entertainment-related, but had an impossible time finding work. I had no knowledge of temp agencies or how they work and was very skeptical about their ability to help. But after months of searching on my own, my situation became dire and I decided to give temp agencies a chance as a last resort. I Googled "temp agencies" and saw OfficeTeam pop up to mostly good reviews. Within a week of contacting them, I was in touch with their agents and had my meeting/interview set up. I interviewed at the Westwood branch. Before meeting them, there were assessment "tests" for common admin programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and a general typing test. The tests took about 30-45 minutes each and were very manageable for anyone who is computer-literate. I did really well with the typing test and was just above average for the programs, and about average for Excel. The day of my interview, I met with several agents who were incredibly nice and within a week of that interview I already had job offers. These jobs ranged from short one to two day gigs, to weekly gigs, all the way to potential temp-to-hire positions. The jobs were all over LA which was a little difficult as I don't have a car but the bus system does the trick if you're willing to make it work. The highest offer I received was $14/hr which isn't amazing but when you're hungry for work and they're finding you jobs, you can't really complain. Overall, this was a great experience and helped put me at ease when I was at the point where I needed work immediately. As for the bad reviews, I have to think these folks either didn't do well on the assessment tests or didn't follow up with the agents because there wasn't a week that went by where I didn't receive a job offer after I had my interview. I also was fortunate to have a pretty good resume built up from my time in NYC which I'm sure helped. However, if you're computer-literate, have a good attitude, and are eager, OfficeTeam is definitely an amazing company and I would absolutely recommend contacting them. Good luck! read more

Listen people. We live in LA with millions of people all shooting for the same jobs, so it is natural to work with a placement agency to have a better chance of landing work. I have had the most amazing experience at Creative Group with Jessica Buck. Literally a superstar. I have worked with a lot of agencies, and she by far has shown the most compassion and treated me like a person and not just another name on her roster. I mean seriously, she told me happy birthday, frequently follows up with me on new opportunities and any placements I've landed. We need more of her! Hands down worst experience EVER!!! I'm still chasing them for MY paycheck from the end of February. They placed me in temp position and I got converted to full time. As soon as I signed the offer letter and they got their cut, POOF! Haven't heard a single word. I have called at least once a week and Jon Swift (branch manager) "is unavailable, I can send you to his voicemail" every single time. I'm currently working on getting legal help so I advise you to take your talent and/or business elsewhere!!! These guys are a major headache, rooting from management. read more

There isn't enough I can say about this particular Office Team. Essentially, if it weren't for Kim, Nicky, Stephanie, and Lindsay at Office Team, I would be in a ditch somewhere. I consider them my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th mothers. Here's my Office Team story... I applied for a job through Office Team in October of 2012. I had no idea it was a temp agency. I got a call from Stephanie asking if I could come in for an interview. Again, I had no idea it was a temp agency. I wore a tie like the moron that I am. Wasn't necessary. The interview was basically a run through of my skills, goals, and personality. I took some Microsoft Office tests and met with a few cute ladies and was on my way. I was just happy to take off my tie. After about two days, I started receiving texts, calls, and emails about my availability. NOW I REALIZED IT WAS A TEMP AGENCY. I was in desperate need of a job and NOTHING was happening for me. So, I caved and decided to open up my life to these women. Best decision of my life. The women who worked with me at this particular location were incredible. They're truly genuine, caring, and passionate people. It really made me feel worth while. My first few months in LA I felt like a pile. They reversed that. They first got me hooked up with some day-to-day gigs. I was working odd jobs with them off and on. Finally, after some patience, I landed a full-time gig! Office Team is on top of their game. They are quick to respond to emails, voice mails, and even texts messages. Sometimes they were working until 7 or 8 at night for me. Not only did they become my colleagues, they also became my friends. Office Team also rewards you if you refer! I've referred countless people and have probably made $250 off of that alone. There's no negative with this place - only positive. They're truly professional, punctual, and friendly. They do find you a job fairly quickly -- with that, I can't complain. It's best to be specific and up front with regards to what you're looking for because they do have quite a few opportunities, I think. If you don't want anything long term you can choose purely "temp" -- don't take "temp to hire" if you don't anticipating working long term at the described company. Really, they can suit your needs. You can find free parking a few blocks down -- if you don't want to walk, use the meters. But personally I don't mind walking and would rather not worry about feeding the meter! As soon as my interview with OfficeTeam Westwood ended, I was placed on a couple assignments and had numerous interviews back-to-back. This place and the person who said would help me has left me on the back burner with no type of communication other than the initial role/job they showed me when I contacted them. They are not that dedicated to helping you, like they said. And when I call or send email they are very short, as if they are busy. I can't say enough positive things about the staff here at OfficeTeam in Westwood. I moved out to Los Angeles with nothing lined up - other than a place to live. Robert Half Technology is a wonderful organization. All because of one person. Anna Malayan. Before signing up with Robert Half Technology, I was skeptical. I read a lot of reviews online that spoke negatively about the company. After my initial meeting with Anna Malayan, I quickly dismissed those reviews. I was fortunate to be assigned to her as my recruiter. She responded quickly, always called for updates, and left voicemails. Additionally she followed up if I was too busy to respond (I was working part-time). There was an scenario where I received a parking ticket while working on one of the jobs another recruiter signed me for. Even though Anna was not that recruiter, she was able to get the ticket fine reimbursed. This is just one of the examples that she is a very dedicated recruiter. The Office Team squad in Westwood is top-notch. Over the past three years, I have come to them with various types of availability (everything from 2 days in the middle of the week to a few months) and they were more often than not able to find employment for me. If I wasn't on assignment, they were good about finding me last-minute fill-ins and replacements. On top of finding me plenty of placements, they were also supportive and helpful on the rare occasions when placements were not a good fit. Indeed, you enter every workplace hoping for the best, but sometimes the environment is a bad fit for you - they get it. These ladies are friendly, responsive, diligent, and thorough - what more can you ask for? I've referred six of my friends so far that are already working with them as well...I feel like my Dad when I say "what do you mean you can't get a job" because the OT squad has been able to find plenty for me. There's definitely a reason TCG has higher scoring reviews than other creative agencies - it's because their fabulous recruiters actually care and do their due diligence to find you the perfect fit :) I was at a job I had outgrown from and decided to leave to try and find a better fit, somewhere that I could grow and receive a pay rate that matched my set of skills. I signed up for a number (and I mean like 5-6) job agencies and ended up finding a PR job on my own, and I'm pretty sure it's just a sweatshop for recently graduated journalists. Anyways - I get a call from my recruiter, Jessica Buck, while I'm at PR hell and she shoots the idea of a temp copywriting job that I could start at in 24-48 hours. I jumped ship, did a phone interview, took a quick copy test and bam - 5 hours later that same day I had a new job! Not only that, the originally 2-week temp job is now my new full time job :). The whole time I was struggling to find work, Jessica was communicative, responsive and entirely reassuring. This is the best job agency I've ever worked with! Quite a few recruiters worked hard to ensure that I was getting the opportunities I was looking for. You show up, have common sense, and do your work, and they keep calling you back. Every time a client gave them good feedback on me, I got more and more offers. I love how honest I was able to be with them (with the good and the bad), and that we worked together as a team to get me the jobs that worked for me/jobs I worked for. Whenever I had an issue (because this happens anywhere - they can't control how companies will treat you), I immediately communicated my concerns to them, and they were very receptive. They were helpful in getting me out of any bad situations, but there were definitely way more good experiences than bad. All job agencies take a fee from their clients for your services (they have to make money somehow), so of course, as a temp, you won't make as much as you would working permanently. However, when I needed a little more, if I knew a place liked me, Office Team was always incredible at negotiating rates for me, saving me from having to have the awkward conversations. I don't know where my life would be without the recruiters of Office Team. I've worked with them on and off for years, from 2010 until now, when I'm moving out of LA. Throughout these years, they got me many temp jobs, three temp-to-perm that came with permanent offers, one of which I accepted. I worked for that company for over three years, and then went back to Office Team when I was looking for something else. I've worked some of the best jobs through them, in many extremely legit and well-known creative agencies (media, entertainment, and advertising). Now my resume looks so great that I already have an interview in the small town I'm moving to. I don't think this group places many people. Seems like they waste time with fake interviews. One employee even admitted this to me. Make sure you independently verify there is an open position. Often you can go to the company website they claim there is a job and see no job opening at all. Plus many of their job descriptions are cut and pasted from each other, which makes me believe their business is nonsense. I'd like to see some real statistics on how many people robert half places. It seems like they are just an information gathering outfit that will waste your time and gas. read more

I've worked with different agencies and I've gotten job offers and actually landed a job even for a temp. Office Team is a piece of work, they are just a bunch of snotty women who sees candidates as commission. When they finally interview me and claimed they have a couple of job openings that best suited my skills and experience, they low blow the pay. I've compared the job positions with the other agencies I was working with and their salary pay even for a temp is almost to the minimum wage. I've asked if there's any room for negotiation just to see if they can fight for me I was immediately shut down. This happened 4 years ago after 3 temp jobs and 1 permanent job, and now they called me for an "update" to see if I am working and as to where and if I am open for another position. This just tells me that they are desperate and just collecting candidates to add in their database to promote business. I will never come back nor reach out to them ever again. I hope they change their way of doing business where they actually get REAL corporate companies that will pay big $$ for excellent candidates. I'm happy to say I found an agency that placed me in a well reputable company and my team are awesome and the pay is great! read more

Review below: I don't know about other reviewers, but here's my experience. I called Office Team. The recruiter said they had jobs and they're busy. Submitted my resume, filled out the application, interviewed via Skype, took software tests and received high test scores. They checked my references, but not one interview after five months. I checked-in regularly, but mostly left a voicemail for the "recruiter of the day". I checked their recent open jobs on the website. I called on four at different times. The ones I chose were either filled or they had no information. Frustrating! I found out the woman who conducted my Skype interview no longer worked there. I wasn't on anyone's radar. The woman I spoke with (no names here), tried to put me on the defensive. Somehow this is my fault. I called again, another recruiter told me about a position. She submitted me to a company as it turns out, late--after the company had already interviewed others and was ready to make an offer. I was always polite and professional but was never treated the same. One recruiter said she hoped that Office Team wasn't my only source for finding a job. The last one I spoke to said that basically because I've had specific professional positions but only one administrative assistant position, their clients wouldn't be interested. Why didn't Office Team tell me that before I filled out an application, did a Skye interview, took tests, went through a background and reference check? Job hunting is very stressful. After about 5 months, I am happy to say that I have a full time position with the company and I am SO excited. While it was my first assignment with OfficeTeam, I have no doubt if I were to need any other assignments, I would have the same level of care and attention that I received.
