I needed progressive lenses for the first time, and…read moremy previous optometrist was incompetent -- she even dismissed me when I suggested I needed bifocals because we were struggling to find a prescription that worked and basic reasoning told me it was time. I'm in my mid-40s and obviously needed a different prescription for up close vs far away. Dr. Gary at Family Vision Center didn't even need me to make the suggestion-- he figured it out very quickly during my exam. The progressive lens prescription was spot on the first time, even though my eyes are tricky -- one nearsighted eye, one farsighted eye. I can FINALLY see again (without employing a bunch of tricks like taking my glasses on and off and moving things to exactly the right distance in front of my face). I'm so, so pleased with the excellent quality of every part of my experience with FVC, from the intake person, to the doctor, to the glasses fitting specialist. I set an appointment and when I arrived the office was nearly empty I had to wait for the optician lady to return from lunch or break. It took about 20 minutes of her typing on her computer with very little interaction. 7 to 10 days for my glasses. After 2 weeks I was called and told my glasses were ready. The lady hands me a bag with my glasses, I look inside the bag and she asks if I want to try them on. Of course. They fit okay. When I get to the car and put on one of the glasses I noticed a black ink mark on each lens,that I had to clean off. Maybe I was spoiled by my old eye doc. He would personally meet with patients picking up glasses, make sure they fit perfectly and then clean them. I'll be looking for a new optometrist.

I was seen 10-15 minutes after my appointment time. The first examination room could be cleaner. The machine was also a tad bit high so I wish they had an adjustable height chair or machine. Dr. Kh. was good, but she was very much focused on directing the conversation in a way to sell more services. She told me that everything was alright, but she would like to watch this and that and for that I needed that...in a tone that made me wonder if there is something wrong with my eyes. I also didn't know that people of my nationality have different optical nerves. I hope that is not a bad thing.
