I do not feel comfortable. calling the main office line anymore and encountering the office manager again after she has twice offered such disparaging treatment towards me. If you provide a specific owners name and a direct phone line and time to call or specifically directed email, then I will reach out to discuss further. Otherwise I am afraid I will just be going through the same scenario again with the front office/Manager calling this main phone line. I am traumatized from the treatment I've received from speaking with her. ---------- Original review: I give one star for the 2 horrible experiences I have had with front office, and most specifically the office manager. I believe her name is Liz. After being a patient for sometime, I had to leave this office, even though I liked the doctor and eye tech, due to very disparaging and unacceptable treatment. I've written an official letter to the doctor to inform him of what has happened. I don't know if office manager screens his mail. I pray he sees it so they can make improvements based on my experiences. I would hate for anyone to go through what I have gone through. - if I hear from the doctor/office and anything changes I will update my review until then I cannot and would not recommend this office. read more

Dr. Bruce Brockman has made my pre and post cataract surgery care a breeze. He had a super "bed-side manner" encompassed in his attitude, behavior, and communication style that left me feeling confident and in good hands under his care. He took his time and allowed for questions and discussions regarding the things concerning me. The other staff that had interaction with me were also very kind and considerate. I just took my 5 year old for her first visit and Ms. Emily and Dr. Tsao was amazingly patient and comforting throughout the visit. I even had my 2 year old with us and we were all so welcomed. Dr. Tsao showed us findings and explained the significance of each finding seen, so it was a great learning experience for all of us too. My husband and I also come here for our routine vision checks/needs too. The whole family comes here. We all look forward to our visits and definitely recommend this practice to all families. read more

My family and I have been coming to Topa Topa optometry to see Dr. Brockman for around seven or eight years now. We all go annually for a exams and both my eldest daughter and myself need glasses. Dr. Brockman is very professional and personable as are the rest of the staff. Heidi is always very helpful with selecting frame styles and is very friendly and professional as well. I am sorry to see so many one star readings here, but notice when they are read the complaints primarily seem to be related to Covid precautions which personally I fully respect and appreciate. I am so glad to have local access to a great optometrist and a good selection of stylish glasses to choose from and plan to continue to utilize their services for many years to come! read more

I didn't think a favorite optometrist was a thing I'd ever have but Topa Topa has managed to become just that. The staff and Dr were absolutely wonderful, thorough, and I actually enjoyed my appointment. I even learned some things! This was my first appointment at Topa Topa and my last. I was greeted by an unfriendly impatient bossy nurse standing at the office front door with a thermometer. No hello or good afternoon she just stood there sticking this thermometer in my face then told me to go wash my hands in the bathroom somewhere down the hall. As I walked down the hall she kept shouting "keep walking" over and over and when I finished washing my hands she was nowhere. I wasn't told what room to go to so I stood there looking around and saying excuse me but no one offered assistance. At this point I felt uncomfortable and I thought about just leaving but another nurse poked her head out of a room and said "Your suppose to be over there" and pointed but I wasn't sure where. I said to her that I'm not comfortable with the way things are being handled and I don't appreciate the way I'm being ordered around. She said nothing so I said I'm leaving and she rolled her eyes and unlocked the office door. I go to several physicians regularly and I understand people have bad days, stressful covid times especially with our healthcare workers but this was more than a bad mood or bad day. I didn't like anything about this place it was so awful that as bad as my eyes are I left and now I have to find another eye doctor. I don't have a clue about the actual eye doctor but based on the customer service I would not recommend Topa Topa. read more

This is a wonderful business. I've been going there for years. I especially want to thank Pam. I had a particularly difficult lens order to be filled for some frames that were wraparound and she did everything she possibly could to get me what I wanted. She went the extra mile and I really appreciate it. I also like to have my eye exams there. It's a very professional environment. Super high-end inventory. Professional staff. Dr. Tsao put me right at ease with her caring expertise in assessing my vision for my first set of contact lenses. I am often not very comfortable in a clinical setting, but her approachable manner and obvious intelligence had me feeling in good hands. In subsequent visits, both she and Dr. Brockman made every effort to ensure I had the most refined prescription. Upon their caring encouragement I must have tried 5 sets of lenses for free, before committing to my full year prescription. It was a wonderfully helpful experience and my lenses have been a liberating alternative to glasses. read more

Dr. Brockman and Dr. Tsao and there staff are as good as they come. Knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. Recently I had cataract surgery and doctor Brockman did all my follow up visits and I had a few rough days. He gave me his cell number and said to call if you have any issues. He met me at his office on a Saturday and fitted me in during the week on last minute notice more than once! I would highly recommend these guys read more

Dr. Brockman is the best!! I've been coming here for years for my general eye exam, but this weekend when my son scratched my cornea while playing (I was in so much pain and Urgent Care was useless!), Dr. Brockman met me on a Sunday night to examine my eye and put a contact bandaid on it. It feels so much better and I am very grateful! My husband sees Dr. Tso for his eye exams and really likes her as well. read more
