I give my experience a 1 star, because of the poor medical attention Dr. Lopez provided me and my husband. It seems that Dr. Lopez lacks sensitivity towards his patients. As soon as he walked in, he assumed that I had diabetes because I am overweight, he assumed without saying "congratulations" or introducing himself. He kept referring to me as "at my size" you probably have diabetes, when in fAct I don't and luckily I proved him wrong with a recent glucose exam I had at a previous clinic. I am not returning to see him and wouldn't recommend him to anyone that is larger. As a physician he should have the empathy to address his concerns without judging and making a women feel bad for being pregnant. I am fully aware of complications with being 30lbs overweight, but I cannot allow anyone making me feel guilty for being pregnant. read more

The one star is for the nurses but I wouldn't even give any stars to Dr Lopez. He's a world class jackass! Every time I went for a visit I would wait anywhere between 1 to 2 almost 2 and a half hours to be seen! And he was very mean to me. I had very itchy dry skin, and I was concerned what could be causing it. He immediately assumed I was using meth, and began to warn me about meth use. I was not using meth and immediately tried to stop him by saying "test me if you don't believe me. I'm not on drugs!!!" But he said that his office doesn't drug test and proceeded to inform me about meth babies. But I assured him that I was not on meth. He wouldn't believe me and in fact told me that drug addicts are liars. But again, I'm not a drug addict. I was not afraid of being tested and was willing to prove that I wasn't a liar. He wouldn't listen. So my itchy skin problem was to remain a mystery and intensified for 4 more months. Every time he saw me I would try to express that my itchy skin was unbearable and again he would say that meth use make people have nervous itch. This was beyond frustrating. I finally told him to stop saying that to me, and he said I was acting like his 16 year old patients. That I was rolling my eyes and acting like I know it all. He was not very nice to me after that. He basically said I should change doctors because he didn't want to deliver my baby because I was going to be hysterical during labor. I wouldn't ever recommend this DOUCHEBAG to anyone!!! I originally had a very good review about Dr. Lopez on here, with time passing and me being well into my second pregnancy there are a lot of things I now notice about him that make me feel like my first birthing experience wasn't what it could've been. I came to him with things I really wanted for the day I give birth (yes I understand emergencies happen and you can't always get what you want) but he pretty much laughed at the idea I had a birth plan and completely shot down my wishes to do delayed chord clamping and immediate skin to skin (most important to me) I think any doctor that forgets this is MY experience and is basically being hired and chosen by me to make this day the best possible for me and my new baby isn't a very good or understand doctor at all. It doesn't matter how intelligent a doctor is if they treat you as if you don't have a say in your own birth experience. On the day I gave birth, I was very hurt to not get skin to skin right away, instead he had the nurses weigh, measures and clean up my baby before giving her to me to even see. Took about 10-15 minutes. And it was merely so they could "get done" and move on. My wants weren't considered at all. The two stars were for how well he coached me during labor, he did amazing at helping me through that but it wouldn't be enough for me to come back. My new doctor has been told that if she isn't okay with my wishes, I'll go else where. It's about me and my baby, not them. read more

Dr. Was rushing at our very first appointment and we left with some of the questions un-answered. Also, they don't even give you any info regarding what to expect and general info about pregnancy. So we changed the doctor right away and never went back to this doctor. read more

One of the best! He has always treated me with respect and tells me like it is. Which I appreciate bc I'm not a baby and can take it. He held my hand as I found out I lost my baby and did everything he could to help me through my first surgery, a d&c. Which was awful bc of the circumstances.. But I had almost no down time. I was finally ready to start trying again and went to see him about a year later, he informed me I was 30 lbs overweight and needed to get that off before I started trying and to make sure I get plenty of exercise and and drink water and eat healthy. I completely changed everything and when we were we tried again and I am now pregnant after 1 try! He's amazing, the best doctor. No non sense type :) read more

How could anyone say anything bad about Dr. Lopez & his staff? I'm currently 7 months pregnant& every time I go to his office, his staff is extremely nice& answer all of my questions/concerns. I love the fact that Dr. Lopez never makes me feel rushed& he is gentle& makes me feel comfortable. If ppl are complaining about how busy the office gets sometimes, what do you expect? He has his own practice& sometimes he has to run out& deliver a baby, not a big deal& all doctors have to do it lol. So happy I found him& can't wait to have him deliver my first baby read more

Doctor Lopez is an amazing doctor. He is very knowledgeable and does an amazing job. I have been under his care since 2012 he delivered my second baby girl and i hate that i didnt meet him for my first pregnancy. He is always very helpful and answers all my questions (no question is a dumb question for him) he explains everything with details and is always professional and polite. He can tell you stuff straight out and for a girl that may come out as insensitive, but i always rather know then have him be all fake and tell me everything is peach perfect. Dr Lopez is an absolute pleasure. A few years ago I wanted to get an IUD BC I was sure I did not want children. He refused to insert the device because of my age and possible complications. I was upset at the time, but am now grateful that he took into account my best interest. I now have 2 beautiful boys and I am happily married and have Dr Lopez to thank for that! I have to say Dr. Lopez was really amazing as a doctor. Very soft spoken, answers all your questions, and doesn't rush. My pregnancy was amazing and this being my first pregnancy I was really scared but doctor Lopez made me feel very comfortable. For my labor it was more difficult. I wasn't progressing but he did everything to at least let me try and have a natural birth. I did end up having a c-section because of a fever but in the end had my beautiful baby boy. Not only did he help me with my son when i was pregnant and had placenta previa but also with my ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured a tube a had to be removed, and saved my life and also removed some Endometriois that i had while he was in there. read more

Dr. Lopez and staff are so nice, helpful, comfortable, and friendly. Waiting time is short and appointment with doctor is fast. I love that they answer all my questions with patience and a smile. The only thing that bothers me is that no children are allowed inside the room. But other than that they're great. read more

I am 20 weeks and yesterday was my second visit with dr Lopez. I told him at my first appointment my husband and i didn't want to know the gender. And yesterday when the nurse took me back to weigh me and take my blood pressure she asked if i was gonna find out the gender. I told her i didn't want to know. She took me to the room and told me the dr wasn't back from his lunch yet and i waited for over an hour! He then comes in my room very abrupt. Told him a concern about my varicose veins and he began to push on them which hurts at the lightest touch. He then starts the ultrasound and tells me the gender. I was appalled that he did that! And then he gets upset at me that i chose not to get the state test done to find out if my baby is Down syndrome. It is my right as a parent/mother to decline this test! I declined it with my first two children as well. And he began to tell me i have to take whatever labs he tells me. Wrong!! I have rights and i know them! I will never go back and i will never recommend him to anyone! Not to mention his office is dirty! Completely unprofessional! read more

Dr. Lopez is professional, informative and friendly. All the staff are friendly and helpful. In for maternity. The wait can be long depending on if there are other women delivering, it's his own business so this can be expected from time to time. But most of the time I'm out within an hour. He does not do birthing plans which I wish had known before, but I can trust his opinion and medical knowledge. read more

I give 2 stars only cuz the staff is very friendly. As for dr. Lopez. Not so much. This is my first pregnancy and I expect a little more sensitivity and information. I dunno if its cuz I was using temp medi cal or if he just didn't like me, but my second ultrasound he didn't even try very hard to find my babies heartbeat because he kept insisting that "my size" was an issue. I was only 7 weeks and he said he must see a heartbeat within10 days or else it means the baby didn't develop. He seemed very rushed and didnt care very much to even try. Also, I know that a lot of women dont see a heartbeat until at least 8 to 10 weeks. So all this did was stress me out and upset me for no reason. He also never even did a vaginal ultrasound. Even at my first appointment when i was only 4 weeks. He seems to have an issue with bigger women. I wouldn't suggest going here unless you are a twig. And I was also asking him questions about pre existing conditions that I had and he would just cut me off and brush off my concerns without even letting me finish my sentence.
