Botched! I returned to Dr. Ray Jan of 2022 as he was the cosmetic surgeon who performed my first augmentation. This experience was nothing like my first. My inquiry was for removal and replacement of implants, and mini tummy tuck as I figured, let's snip that extra skin from pregnancy. I was told that Dr. Rey doesn't perform a mini as that will result in what's known as dog ears. My consultation with Dr. Rey was by what's app. in hindsight, I should have requested in person. My virtual was sometime in the last quarter of 2021. i didn't see the Dr. until the actual day of surgery where he went about talking about himself, doing the splits to show his fit self in his 60's. I go into this operating room that' clearly is not sanitized. if it was, they missed all the dust. I go down, come out and don't rember being awake at all untill the moment I was about to step into the car from the wheelchair. This is no exaggeration! Im home for two weeks, follow all his instructions. I'm swollen due to augmentation, TT and lipo on flanks. A few days after my surgery, I noticed a huge bulge on the upper center abs and had a crease on the lower abs. By video chats and texting Dr. Rey, I mention this and send pics. He asked me to immediately use a hand held massager for 15 min two times a day. No improvement. He then asked me to stop all salts and juice. I knew it wasn't that as I had a bland diet. well, it didn't go away. I scheduled appt as he said he would drain. That didn't work. He then stated he could lipo or revise but had to wait at least 6 months. During this period of time I had a second opinion and was scheduled for a third. As time went by, I reached out to Dr. Rey as I needed him to see and feel the bulge. This is when he got defensive and became aggressive and disrespectful. I started by telling him about my second opinion. that's when he lost it! I told him Dr. suggested revision. Dr. Rey said he would do whatever I wanted. Lipo of the bulge or revision. I asked him for his opinion as I dom't know what's the best option. he kept saying, "I'll do whatever you want. I asked him what will it take to fix the crease on lower abs a and what if lipo of upper bulge isn't successful? that's when Dr. insulted said, " for the fourth time I will do whatever you want me too! WTH! I'm still keeping my cool as I might have to put my life back in his care.. As if that wasn't enough, he brought in a scale, weighed me and told me I'm overweight according to some medical standard. Now mind you, he didn't take my weight prior to surgery but used that to add to his insults. I'm about 5'3, 145 pounds. I'm not a Barbie size woman but far from being excessively overweight. I'm physically active, and in excellent health. I left there and cried as soon as I reached my car. This whole fiasco has been traumatizing to say the least. Never have I ever been insulted by any medical professional, ever! All year long hiding in lose fitting clothes, not knowing if a revision would fix this. plus, i'm in my mid 50's. not too happy about going under even with excellent health and paying another Dr. for the revision for obvious reasons. fast forward to October 2022. Went in for a consult ($150 deposit) was seen by Dr. Ray himself. I went into the office for a boob lift. Initially I was excited because it was new, However after about 3 months I noticed my boob's started to sag. I returned to his office at which point he was extremely rude and unapologetic ( I think he thought I was criticizing his work) . I went in for a consultation with Dr Rey. He was very busy yet attentive. He gave me all the information in the world about the procedures I was interested in. He told me what was and wasn't realistic. He showed me several post op pix of his clients. He made sure all of my questions were answered before I left. A few weeks later I booked my surgery with him. I dealt with Christy both pre and post op. She too was very nice and helpful. I only saw Dr Rey at the consultation and the day of the surgery. Other than that I was in Christys hands. All of the staff there was really nice. They take every credit card on earth which was good. Dr Rey did breast augmentation surgery on me several years ago. In my consultation, he was confident, which I appreciated, but also a little weirdly complimentary, which set my "ick" radar off. Having worked with many doctors before, I know that personality and competence don't always go hand-in-hand, so I ignored my gut and went with him. After the consultation, I saw Dr Rey immediately before my surgery and as a blur when I came out of anesthesia. Never again. I flew from Northern California for my follow-up appointments, and saw his P.A., Kristy. She's fine, but I was surprised that he dropped out of the picture. (To his credit, he did provide good post-op suggestions about deep breathing, the importance of walking frequently, and diet suggestions when we talked before going into the OR). On my surgery day, I waited all day, fasting. I didn't end up in the OR until the evening, and I was never given a reason why. My results were fine, but I was much bigger than I expected. I asked to go from an A cup to a C. I ended up as a DD. My areola were a little strangely shaped, and my scars were sort of ugly, but whatever. I wasn't planning on showing my boobs publicly. Five years later, I had become very sick. I believed (and still do) that my implants were the culprit, and I decided to take them out. I called Dr Rey's office, and apparently, my records were no longer in existence. It took several attempts calling the office to get a response, only to be told they had no records. (I believe in California, plastic surgeons are only required to keep records for 3 years - who knew?!) I went to a different surgeon for my explant surgery, and discovered that my implants were larger than what I chose to use. No wonder I was so much bigger than I expected! My new plastic surgeon saw me every time I went for follow-up appointments, and even emailed and called to check in on my healing. If I could magically go back in time, I would have never gone with Dr Rey. read more

Dr. Rey is everything I'd ever wished for in a doctor. He is so gentle, incredibly caring, has lovely bedside manner and he makes sure all of his clients are happy with their results. From the beginning of the appointment (if you need a little more "good stuff" for numbing to the mid-procedure or post-procedure you're in good hands! Will even call after your surgery. What was fantastic was he told me exactly what he was going to do and how much of a difference it would be and then did EXACTLY that! I knew exactly what to expect which was nice considering this is my body and we never want to feel uncertain when making any "updates." His staff are all very kind, super down to earth and are an open book - they know exactly what a girl needs to calm the nerves going into any procedure! and they play soft music to set the mood. Usually there's a sheet or two of paperwork and they'll call you in right after you hand everything in. They always take before and after photos. If there's any advice I would pass along to any newbies, make sure you follow the before and after instructions. You don't want any bruising to occur 2-3 days afterwards. I ate lots of proteins for a couple days straight. The nurses recommend "Arnica" but I wasn't able to find it in the drug store for some reason. Be sure to not drink any alcohol for a couple days and afterwards (promotes bruising). Also, it's smart to not exercise after the first two weeks and remember to relax, relax baby! Overall, if it's your first time and you've always thought about it - go to Dr. Rey don't think twice about it! I will absolutely be back in the future for more... I had a very disappointing experience with Dr Rey. To start off, I don't like his personality. He is too touchy. He made me and my husband very comfortable every time we went to see him. He didn't stop touching my hair and trying to hold my hands in front of husband. He also gets off topic all the time talking about himself. He is very unprofessional. I spent twice as much for a high definition liposuction with fat transfer just because of his famous name. I am not happy at all with the results. One day I will have to pay another plastic surgeon to remove the marks he made on my stomach. Dr Rey's assistant is very nice and treats you very well until you pay and do your surgery. I went to Dr. Rey in 2005. He was very charming and seemed knowledgeable. I was the first patient for surgery that morning. I arrived at 6 or 6:30 and my appointment was at 8 or 9. He was 3 hours late and when he did arrive he didn't apologize he just showed me his karate or jujitsu moves. Finally, about 3 1/2 hours after my appointment time I had the surgery. A year after my BA, i did not like the way they looked. Then I started having issues with my right breast. It was CC. I went back to Dr. Rey and he was nowhere to be found. I had to deal with his assistant. She gave me some medicine to try to help the CC. It didn't work and I went back about 4 times and never once did I ever see Dr. Rey again until I demanded and made a scene in the office. He came in acting very rude. I explained I wanted to talk to him about my medical issues and worries not his staff. He told me he would need to do surgery on them again. He could careless about his patients. He only cares about the money you give him. After you have the surgery you will never see him again. I had to have them redone by a different doctor and they are perfect and the dr actually cared. I recently went with my sister for a consultation for getting breast implants. No one welcomed us inside. The waiting room is as big as a broom closet. We waited for about an hour and a half. They called my sister back and I went with her. I'm sorry to say, but I wouldn't even let Dr. Rey clean my teeth, let alone perform any sort of surgery on me. He's creepy and quiet. Everything went well until I had the surgery. Yes it was odd that his young intern came into our consult and showed me her "work" Dr. Rey had done, I didn't have enough time to look away! Had the surgery in 2007 when I was 21 years old. It is now 2013 and I still have a tugging pain in my right breast and am in constant discomfort. Something I brought to Dr. Reys attention just a few short months after the augmentation. It was like pulling teeth trying to get in to see him to make sure everything was ok, his nurse kept telling me he didn't do post-op appointments after the one and only check up after surgery. I basically threw a tantrum to get in to see him; when he came into the room he was rude, rushed, said he had other things going on, only LOOKED at my right breast, did not examine and certainly did not do any xrays. I was now brushed off by the doctor. How embarrassing. I am finally giving in...I have not enjoyed having the implants because recently I have been so sensitive that I just cant do it anymore. and I am scheduled to have them removed within the next month with a different doctor. I had an aquaintance who also went to Dr. Rey and developed an infection, her breats augmentation was also very uneven. I thought I would get the best results by going to a famous doctor. Not so much. Save your money! STATUS UPDATE: Implants are now out, and just to add to my issue with Dr. Rey, I had told him I wanted to be a D (was currently a 34B) at which point he said ok, we will use 350ccs. I had a labiaplasty done in 2007 and actually did the show dr 90210 I remember watching the show before and I always told myself if I get surgery I want this guy to do it. He is good at his craft I will never ever regret getting my surgery .. just for girls that are insecure about themselves that's why I did that show.. what I didn't like was how it was chopped and edited to make it seem like my private parts were the way they were due to being over sexually active .. But hey that's show business right ? But dr Rey was nice and apparently on the show I had bloody secretions in the et tube and trouble waking up from being intubated and accused me of being a smoker .. which I take offensively because I have maybe not even inhaled 2 ciggs in my life. I'm a respiratory therapist (even though the irony is our profession smokes) but I'm not about that at all.. I think maybe somebody was a little rough with the Intubating and caused some trauma .. but who knows.. regardless, surgery went well, doctor did well, I'm happy 11 years later :) read more

Dr. Rey is probably one of the smartest and funniest people I have ever met! My Mother and I went in for a consultation at a different location through a media thing on her part. He was seriously one of the nicest surgeons I've ever met. I have been shopping around everywhere for a surgeon because the procedure I am seeking is a long and hard one. Right away Dr. Rey told me why the procedure wouldn't work for me and how to go about different procedures and ending with the same result. I am usually quoted over 12,000 and Dr. Rey quoted me under that. His staff was absolutely awesome and just as funny as he was. He made me feel comfortable and secure about myself at the end of the appointment. This is not how I usually feel when seeing other surgeons. I do believe this is the best choice for myself. I live out of state, in a state where there are no doctors that perform the TUBA Breast Augmentation. I spent a good amount of time and a lot of money to travel to CA for the consultaion. $150 consultation fee, airline tickets, rental car, hotel, etc. The consultation was ok. It felt a bit rushed through the whole thing. I appreciated the amount of info he gave in such a small amount of time. He told me that I was a perfect candidate for the TUBA and he would love to do it for me. I recently called to schedule my surgery. I recieved a return call stating that he no longer felt like he could do my surgery and gave me a referral to 2 other surgeons!!! I now have to start the whole process over again! I even have to pay another $150 consultation fee! I can appreciate that he is a busy man, has a lot on his plate, and that I am not a high profile person.... but this is HORRIBLE business practice!!!! I am now out hundreds of dollars. When reading the contract he said that he would fix that problem but i need it to pay and additional $5,000 i told him why if it was part of the contract and it was his wrong doing from there he got upset and threaten to get his lawyers to contact me since then I never heard from him again.
