I got a breast augmentation with implants done with Dr. Young. The staff was very friendly, but the doctor seemed very cold. When I told him I wanted to be a specific size, he said they don't do things that way. I was then given the option of different size implants with cc's and was told to figure out which size I wanted. When I chose the smaller size, the staff and doctor recommended I size up, that I wouldn't be happy enough. They said everyone decides that what they went with was too small and always wishes they had gone bigger. When I woke up from the surgery, the first thing I said was, I hated them they were too big, the staff blew me off with that response and told me to come back for my follow up appointment. At all of my follow up appointments I voiced my concern about how I still did not like the way I looked, that they were too large. I was ignored by both the staff and the doctor every time I voiced my opinion about it. After my last follow up it was as if I no longer existed. My experience with Dr. Young and his staff was great. Every staff member welcomed me with open arms as soon as I entered the facility. Dr. Young was very friendly and answered all of my questions without hesitation during the first consultation. I had a second consultation to determine the implant size a few weeks later. The nurse listened to my concerns and took her time with me. She did not rush me to make a decision. Once Dr. Young entered the room, he answered all of my questions and gave me his professional opinion on what my size implants would work for my body. If you're planning on a BBL Brazilian Butt Lift, PLEASE (!!) read this BEFORE you schedule surgery with Dr Young. I can only tell you about MY personal BBL journey and experience here with DR YOUNG. It's now been four months since I had surgery. It's important that you know this because at this point, "what you see is what you get"! The first few months your body will still be making a lot of changes and does not show your true results!! So today was almost my 4 month mark. I had a follow up with DR YOUNG today about my BBL Brazilian butt lift surgery. I paid to have liposuction done on my stomach, love handles, and then paid EXTRA for my back of my arms, and ALSO what we call the "back fat" or "bra fat" that all of us ladies hate! On the norm, I stay in shape exercising, salsa dancing, bike riding etc. I am overall very happy with my "normal body", I just wanted to add the "brazilian BUTT LIFT" (BBL) to my body now! I was sooo excited and saved up for months for this procedure. I intentionally gained weight just for this procedure because I wanted to have as much fat as possible to be processed and injected in my butt. I was beyond thrilled with excitement thinking of how my soon to be BOOTY was going to have that "Brazilian lift" WITH PROJECTION! At my consultation AND the day of my surgery, I fully explained in detail (along with giving pictures) of exactly what I wanted ~ which was a small waist line, all of that back bra fat gone, and the BBL butt projection! Not one time, was I ever told something like I didn't have enough fat on my body for that butt projection, or that he would NOT be able to get rid of the rolls of bra fat! NOTHING was said to me about it, never! I use to be a fitness model and trained a lot in the gym. I loved my body just wanted to "add" the BBL! I paid almost $8000 plus another probably close to $1000 for the medication that was required, and to buy proper Faja's, proper/nicer after-surgery foam, boppy pillow, the water bottle, massages, etc. etc. The foam that was provided to me after my surgery (after paying almost $8000!) was extremely cheap foam bought from Michael's Craft Store and the Faja had a very large opening at the crotch area that dug into my butt and was extremely uncomfortable! I almost non-stop had to ask my boyfriend to "pull the hole"!!... "pull that opening" because it really dug into my newly injected butt and it hurt! So I had to go online and spend "more" money just to get proper Faja's and nicer foams. Back to my follow up appointment today, I told Dr Young several times of my disappointment with all the dimpling that is now in my butt cheeks after this surgery, (UGH!!!!) , plus..... there's no additional butt projection from where I started before I had surgery. I "still" have all of the back fat/bra fat too! I asked about having a second round, and he told me that I should GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I felt like he didn't care whatsoever about me and my feelings and disappointment, and definitely didn't value me as his patient! Especially suggesting I go elsewhere now. When I'm really upset I start crying, so during my appointment I was so mad and upset thinking that I paid all that money, to really only get lipo on my stomach and back of my arms, and NO BBL and NO fat removal off my back that I had paid EXTRA for... so it made me start crying right there in the room. The Dr. had NO sympathy or empathy for me at all. I felt so disappointed and let down by him. I knew him for years and that even made it worse that he did such a poor job on this surgery and then cared a less about me and the follow up afterwards. As long as he got paid, I felt like that was all that mattered to him. Not me, as a human being and especially in this coronavirus time where we are all very particular about our finances and the money we are spending. The staff is lovely. Very friendly and informative. I came in for a consultation scheduled for 2:30, didn't see the Doctor until 4. Once the dr and the nurse walked in, he opened my robe and said "yikes" Seriously?? I have a breast deformity, and this is the first word that comes out of your mouth? I was mortified. He came across uncaring and condescending. This was my first time physically exposing my breasts in this way. It's taken me years to gain enough self confidence to actually proceed with an augmentation because I felt too embarrassed. My appointment was at 2pm and it is now 4PM. I understand the doctor has a busy schedule but an hour to two hour wait is not acceptable. I'm here because I'm experiencing pain few months later and yet I'm here waiting two hours to be seen. - - - just got seen and the pain is from me over working myself. Thank God, was advised to take pain reliever. I'm not even satisfied with the two times I have been under the knife within the past two years. $7,000 just gone down the drain. The worst nightmare of my entire life. Besides death of a woman on the operating table...(it was on the San Antonio news) within three months of that, he left me with extreme disfigurement. I have a deep hole in my chest on one breast, and he cut off my nipple and areola. The other side barely closed and I lost my nipple. He told lie after lie. The last lie, was where he failed to discuss with me, or inform me either before or after that when he took my implants out, he put one in that he found in the office during the surgery. I did not find out until many months later when it showed up by an Aurora Breast MRI. We confronted him and then he admitted to it after the fact. He offered to cut me open in the office and slip it out. This man is not someone you want to give your money to, or entrust your body to for any reason. Rest assured I will not go away. This truth with all the gory details in photos will be revealed on national television, in a blog and in a book. If you put yourself in his hands, don't say you weren't warned. I really wish I could leave a positive review, but when a business completely destroys your life and doesn't care, then I believe that business practices should be put out there for others to make more informed decisions before they put themselves in the hands of someone who has the potential to harm them. Sure you will find a lot of beautifully written reviews out there, but if the Majority rules over the truth then something is really wrong. You are smart enough to understand that it is a piece of cake for businesses to have people write lovely reviews. If you are thinking of having plastic surgery,it is so important to research as much as you can. My story is a little different from most who have had plastic surgery. In the year 2000, I was considering having breast augmentation. Finding myself divorced after 23 years of marriage left me feeling more than a little insecure and with a needed boost of self-esteem. I went for a check up and found to my surprise that I had stage four Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. Needless to say, having a BA was out of the question. Instead, I spent the next five years learning to live with cancer. Because the treatments I've received are so new, no one really knew what the long term side effects were. In spite of my good health and high energy, I suddenly and without warning lost my vision over a period of a few days and the loss was so drastic that I had to quit my 25 year teaching career and go on disability retirement. This story goes on and on, but I will get to the point. Once my treatments were stopped, and every test came back negative, I made up my mind to stop thinking of myself as a "victim" with cancer. In June I got married to a wonderful man who has stuck by me through all of this. One year ago, things for me seemed hopeless and less than positive. Today I have a wonderful life and a future with a man I love! Suddenly, my dream of having breast augmentation didn't seem so silly and insignificant anymore! I talked to my Oncologist about it and he was surprisingly supportive. He said he saw no reason why I couldn't do the procedure as all tests indicated I was currently a healthy woman. I found Dr. Young through a friend, who had her BA about a year ago. She looked so great and natural. I called and made an appointment and found myself and my new husband driving the two hour drive to his office. The office was very nice and all of the staff seemed helpful and friendly. It was so nice and so strange to be in a medical office that did not have the aura of fear and sickness! The young girl who escorted me to the examining room seemed to be about my daughter's age. We then went into a small room where I put on a sports bra and tried on various sizes of "fake boobs." Once we found the size I felt comfortable with, 450 cc's, she told me that most women end up wishing they had gone bigger so she suggested the next size up from what I had chosen. As it turned out, I'm glad she spoke up. I think that most of us are so afraid of being too big that we tend to start out going too small. The Doctor asked to have a medical clearance from my Oncologist, which was done that very day. They also decided that the anesthesia would not affect or harm the little vision I still had, which was my only real concern. When we got to Dr. Young's surgical clinic, I was led to a small room with a warm, cozy feel to it. I woke up feeling warm and so comfortable...not wanting to wake up from my wonderful "nap." I felt no pain at all, so I remember asking when they were going to do the surgery? The nurse explained that I was all finished and my husband was waiting to take me home! I couldn't believe it! I have my one month post op next week and I am eager to see what the PS thinks! I think they are perfect! The Mentor, saline, round, high profile, smooth 470 cc's gave me a perfect C cup and filled in all that saggy skin that use to be my breasts! Spend a little more money and go to a different surgeon. I had a breast augmentation with Dr. Young and I regret not doing more homework on him and his anesthesiologist. A surgery that should've lasted 10+ years I'm having redone after less than four years. All of his nurses and secretaries are pleasant and professional except for Sandra. She has a habit of hanging up on people, myself and other doctors assistants when we just expect her to do her job. I have had to make extra trips up to Dr Young's office to release my paperwork because she makes things much more complicated than they should be. She will be nice to you in the office but incredibly rude and unprofessional on the phone. It puzzles me how Dr. Young still has a practice after all of his lawsuits and botched surgeries. Right away I noticed one side of my tummy tuck looked awful n my belly didnt look right. Then one of my breast looked different. Was told by dr young that my breast settled out of the pocket n my tummy tuck needed revision. I went for a breast augmentation consultation and have never been treated so poorly. I was called back pretty quick, however when Dr. Young came in he wasn't very friendly at all. I had 2 different size implants in the bra they had me put on and all he said was " so you like the 650cc better", he didn't explain much of anything. He did however pull down the bra and say "let me see what I'm working with". Talk about embarrassing! Once my so called consult was done I was taken to this bimbo who tried to get me to commit to scheduling an appointment and told me that she would knock off $500 if I booked at that time. I told her that I wasn't ready to commit and her response was "yeah that's what I was getting at". I feel like they only saw me as a dollar sign and could care less about anything else! I have had zero negative issues with Dr. Young. In all the times that I've gone, I have not experienced longer than normal wait times for a doctor's office. I have been reading a lot of reviews here, and on other websites, where the reviewer says that Dr. Young is rude. I can understand why you might have that idea if you are used to a doctor that sits and chats with you. Dr. Young is not like that. He's not going to ask how the family is, how vacation was, etc. He comes in, he examines you, and he recommends what he thinks is the best course of treatment. He answers any and all questions you have. He is very direct, and he gets to the point. I honestly believe that this comes from his prior military experience. If you have been in the military, or you were raised in a military family, you know that they don't waste time if possible. I personally appreciate that about him. He never once tried to upsell me... I went in, told him what I wanted, he told me what would/would not work, and how to get the best results. His staff are wonderful, personable people. When I went for my procedures, the nurse that prepped me for surgery and I shared a lot of great laughs. She was super sweet. The girls that were helping me when I was woken up from my surgery were also very wonderful towards me. The anesthesiologist was even friendly... we chatted for several minutes. I felt totally at ease from the time I checked in, until the time I went home. The front desk ladies have been so very friendly and warm, too. My post-op visits have been seamless and thorough. I will use this office in the future if I consider any further procedures. read more

I have had 2 breast augmentations , both have been with Dr. Young. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about him. I got my first augmentation when I was 25yrs old and again when I was 37yrs old. I HAD WONDERFUL results both times. I would highly recommend him. I work with 4 other women and only one went to Dr. Young....All the others have had just okay results and experiences. The lady that went to Dr. Young is happy with her results and has nothing but good things to say as well. I was and have always been treated with nothing but respect when I have gone, never rushed or forced to schedule. I am actually thinking about seeing him again (not because of bad results but for personal reasons). For people that have negative things to say about the appearance of the staff just remember you are at cosmetic surgeons office. Everyone is entitled to look however they choose and feel great about themselves, hence why you are there in the first place. I will be seeing DR Young as long as he is practicing. I am back again to rant and rave about Dr. Young and his awesome surgical team. I am six days out from upper body lipo and so far a great recovery. Again, no nausea ( thank you Dr. Melish ). Awful awful!! Don't use him!! I had my breast done 6 years ago, and I have regretted it ever since!! Dr. Young had horrible bed side manors, doesn't give you advice on what he thinks will work. I listen to the nurse and got my implants on top of my muscle. She said because I had too much excess skin it would be better. I asked Dr. Young what he thought he said "sure that will work." What a huge mistake!! Now my implants are moving around and I have lumps every where!! And to fix them of course now it's double the price!! I normally would not write a review because I am a professional with my own business and I can understand miscommunications and personality differences. During my consult I felt rushed and knew my priorities and expectations were not heard. He decided right then what he would do. No matter what I was asking or wanting to discuss. I felt his dress/ appearance was unprofessional. Altering or correcting a part of your body is a very personal journey. Surgery is serious no matter the reason. If you want huge boobs, this doctor is for you. I had breast augmentation three years ago and have been miserable ever since. I am a 5ft tall, small framed gal in my fifties. I have always had very small breasts, barely an "A" cup. I finally decided to take the plunge and have the surgery. Money was always an issue, hence the lateness in life. I never saw the doctor prior to surgery until just before going into the surgery suite. I was seen by an RN who showed me three different implants to choose from. It's really hard to tell by a lay person how the implant will look after it is implanted. I specifically told the nurse that I wanted to be a full "B" size. My goal was not to go overboard. I just wanted to be able to fit & look better in my clothes. I could not believe it when I realized some time after my surgery that I was a full "C" cup. I always figured a plastic surgeon would use common sense and some artistic gauging to improve their patients' appearance, not to mention abide by their patients' wishes. In addition, Dr. Young mistook my left breast for my smaller breast and made it larger, causing it to bulge to the side out of my bra. It looks bad in a bathing suit and is always uncomfortable. The large breasts are out of proportion with my body and make me miserable in the hot, humid summers of San Antonio. I have since heard that Dr. Young is known as "the big boob doctor." I called the office of Dr. Robert N. Young today to set up an appointment for my daughter who had been hit by a car when she was crossing the street in New York last year. The woman who answered the phone quickly set her up for Tuesday, May 31, 2016 when the doctor could see her. She asked what she needed done. I explained to her that my daughter had been struck by a car as she was crossing the street and she ended up with a broken nose. She said "well, we don't take insurance, you would have to pay for the surgery yourself". I explained to her that we would pay but just needed the doctor to give us a letter with what he did to her nose to fix it and we would then submit the paperwork to the insurance company. She said "we won't do that and can't give you anything like codes or what was done. This is plastic surgery. So you will need to find another doctor who takes insurance". I repeated that we would pay the doctor for the surgery but just needed a letter to turn in to the insurance company of his diagnosis and what he did. She rudely replied "you'll have to find another doctor then cause we won't do that. You have to pay for the procedure yourself!" She was rude and lacked listening skills! I guess the fact that the doctor had availability to see my daughter on Tuesday just means that he must not be that good.Maybe this is a blessing in disguise! I'll find another doctor who does not have rude and inconsiderate staff! I would give this zero stars, but since you have to select something, I have no choice but to give 1 lame star! read more
